This album has marked my childhood in ways i cannot even fathom. I will remember for the rest of my life, the day i bought this album on cassette. It was the first music album i bought from my own money which i saved like mad. I was 9 years old and this album was my companion while i was painting, writing, drawing, reading alone when my mother went to work and i was left with my hobbies. I treasure those moments the same as the ones spent outside playing. Music was always an integral part of my life and 90's Eurodance are a special part of music for me. Too bad the americans were deprived of some great songs that were on the Happy Nation European version of this album like Hear Me Calling and Fashion Party. This album is a masterpiece and is one of the best albums of the whole decade. A fantastic sound that was original and unique among it's peers. I don't think there is a kid born in the 80's that hated this album. Thank you, Ace of Base!
I feel you too - exactly the same. First album I ever bought with saved money when I was 9 too. I still have the cassette and I played it through everyday for many weeks, being completed enchanted with Linn's voice. You are right, it is a masterpiece and their best album. I've never seen an album since that matches this ❤️
Fuck yes man, that's beautiful. I love this group, been getting big time into them these past few weeks and they're fucking amazing. I just bought this album on CD 2 days ago! Nice Nuclear Assault profile pic btw!
I stole five Rupees from my dad pocket, lent 10 rupees from my mom, lent 10 rupees from my friend and all along with my savings I have bought the cassette. I had been listening to these songs along with Dr. Alban, Cheb Khaled's Didi songs, in my residential locality from a rich guy's home. They have a big custom stereo deck of 1000 w PMPO and they used to blast at 10am to 1pm everyday. These song made me crazy and they hit my soul hard that I could not forget these artists from my mind for years. Not just listening to these, I used to rewind the cassette a hundred times till my walkman get spoiled, cassettes get raped..I used to try write the lyrics on a paper from my notebook and try sing the same way the singer sang it....I used to imagine about the life style of the artists in their country that entered my soul, though I do not know anything about them...just pure imagination. And the worst of it is, I did not have anybody who are like-minded around me to share what I felt, what I have undergone listening to these songs...I had difficulty to let the energy vent out which was generated from these songs. And it happened for almost for 15 years. I first listened to these 3 artists in 1992-93 when I was 16 yrs studying my 10th std. At times, I used to think that I can sell my blood if nobody comes to know, but later I listened to my intellect which was saying "it's not good".. that was the impact created on me. Looking at them now after passing thru 40 yrs of life living in a third world country like India, I got enough maturity, enough experience etc. Still their songs haunt me now and then...my kids are listening to them now after some evangelism from my side. Esp Dr Alban, Cheb Khaled had a great impact on me. I still remember, I visited nearly 20 times to the audio shop in my locality for the new albums from Khaled, Dr. Alban, Ace of Base each. He made me wait for almost 2 months but still it never tired me off..that was the kind of life...I remember some of my English-hating-friends used to call me with funky names treat me like foreign guy..for without any fault of mine. Literally man, some those sounds from these albums, done something to my soul which I can't explain...I can just reminisce. I know I cannot forget these songs, artists till my last breathe and possibly carry them forward to my next birth. I want to write more but feeling shy that others take it as abnormal..What do you think, friends..?
This is my childhood in the 90's ❤ my uncle was a dj back in the time. Now he owns nightclubs and pubs! I just heard one of the songs on the radio. And it took me back to when I was very young .im 38 now. Ace of base music was my favourite growing up. I had no idea what the words were as I didn’t speak English then, but me and my friends used to make up the words to make it sound similar and as we heard them. Was fun times.
This was the first western album I bought from my pocket money in the cassette format. I heard it on a Sony Walkman on a 36 hour train journey from Mumbai to Lucknow in 1994 (I was 12) on continuous loop and most of that hot summer. Now every time I hear this, I get reminded of that train journey and that summer. What an album! The order of songs matter so much for people who heard this on a cassette.
My grandmother who was in her 80s when I was a teenager raised me in her 1880s family home on Main St in a tiny North Carolina Mountain town. I rocked that house with this album as a young teenager in the early 90s. I still remember my grandmother long dead now telling me this music made her spine beat and head hurt! LOL. I wore plum out that CD. Fell in love with girls listening to the songs thinking about them and breaking up with them hearing these songs thinking about them. Time has flown by.

I remember when I was 9 and this CD was sold out in the Dominican Republic. Ace of Base had lots of fans there including me. 😊 Then, living in the U.S. I found this on tape for a dollar at the thrift store. I couldn't be happier on that day.

Great Electro, dance, beats, singing & lyrics. Ace of Base. Fantastic. My friends and I were just talking about how great this band is. Revolutionary & always a joy to listen to! 🎶💎💎💎
I can't imagine all the legal paperwork the team did to upload your own work here, thank you for being so adaptative for the times we live today! I have all your albums and all of them are a life companion music for me. Love from Venezuela.
My mom bought me this album Christmas 93 when I was 10 and my older brothers and I were "latch key" kids so were home alone from 7am to 530pm during Christmas break while mom was at work and we would fight over who got to use the cd player in our living room. They were metal heads so I drove them nuts playing this constantly during that week lol. It was the reason our mom bought us all our own cd players for our rooms haha. I don't think I've listened to this entire album since that week so it brings back great memories! That was an awesome Xmas and time in general Miss the 90s:(
Ace of Base....just want u to know this is my favorite album from any artist ever! Im born in the 80s....and the Sign just encapsulates the type of music i love. No other album sounds like this anymore.
I was in my early teens when Ace of Base was hitting the airwaves (13 years old) Their songs brings back happier memories of my teenage years! I miss seeing Linn sing their songs.. I hope she is doing well wherever she is! God Bless her👃❤
omg, I remember when I saw this picture and listened to the album in the music store. That was the first album I bought in my life, when I was about 8-9 years-old. I just adored Ace of Base, so I spent my money for the cassette instead of for any toy.
Man I remember buying this album when it was released. I was 14. Had to hide it from all my rock/hiphop friends for fear of being mocked. Now all I can think of is that they missed out.
You might catch your friends on video reactions now. A few of the rap hip-hop friends are checking out all the old rock and roll country music easy listening everything.

Unforgettable leads melodies with such an unique mix of reggae bass, dub with electronic/ pop! Lady Gaga took a lot of inspiration with this track, I’m pretty sure
@Tomeu Planells, indeed. Between Jenny and Linn, the two of them always made their songs have this very fresh and "young" vibe to them in the styles, singing and the lyrics. Listening to them today is as good if not better than yesterday!
Still going strong in 2017 :D Reminds me of my late grandfather who would play this cassette in his peugeot hehe Thinking about it now, he was quite cool if he was into Ace of Base.

I remember when I was 9 and this CD was sold out in the Dominican Republic. Ace of Base had lots of fans there including me. 😊 Then, living in the U.S. I found this on tape for a dollar at the thrift store. I couldn't be happier on that day.
thanks for sharing!!!
Hit after hit.

I can't imagine all the legal paperwork the team did to upload your own work here, thank you for being so adaptative for the times we live today! I have all your albums and all of them are a life companion music for me. Love from Venezuela.
One of my favorite albums of all time
Totally reggae-fusion! Who's listening to this in 2020 quarantine?
Yep!
Absolutely!!!!
All That She Wants 👍👍👍
Yup
Regay?
My mom bought me this album Christmas 93 when I was 10 and my older brothers and I were "latch key" kids so were home alone from 7am to 530pm during Christmas break while mom was at work and we would fight over who got to use the cd player in our living room. They were metal heads so I drove them nuts playing this constantly during that week lol. It was the reason our mom bought us all our own cd players for our rooms haha. I don't think I've listened to this entire album since that week so it brings back great memories! That was an awesome Xmas and time in general
Miss the 90s:(
I remember jamming so hard to this on my walkman when I was five. Brings back very fond memories of the 90s and my childhood...
One of the best albums of the 90s. Glad to find it on RUclips. Thanks

I listened to this album hundreds of times. It stirs up feelings of hope, freedom, and happiness. Very cool.
Lord knows we could all use those emotions more than ever 🎼
Ace of Base(master peace), thank you very much!
Best album ever made by Ace Of Base!! Love it❤️❤️
Ace of Base....just want u to know this is my favorite album from any artist ever! Im born in the 80s....and the Sign just encapsulates the type of music i love. No other album sounds like this anymore.

Had the tape back in the day and played it again and again with my friends, those were the days 🥳🥳🥳
omg, I remember when I saw this picture and listened to the album in the music store. That was the first album I bought in my life, when I was about 8-9 years-old. I just adored Ace of Base, so I spent my money for the cassette instead of for any toy.
it was my first album too:) so good

Best album of the 90's. By far.
Prazerch NOPE!! NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE NUMBER 1!
One of the best for sure
Man I remember buying this album when it was released. I was 14. Had to hide it from all my rock/hiphop friends for fear of being mocked. Now all I can think of is that they missed out.
You might catch your friends on video reactions now. A few of the rap hip-hop friends are checking out all the old rock and roll country music easy listening everything.
tak jest
I am metal to death. This album, and Ace of Base, is fire m8.
one of the unforgettable albums that belongs to 90's..all that she wants was a hit in 1993.

I remember when i was a DJ in the 90's this was my favorite music to mix! Such a good memories!
I love it!!! Jenny and Linn - you are irreplaceable!
Unforgettable leads melodies with such an unique mix of reggae bass, dub with electronic/ pop! Lady Gaga took a lot of inspiration with this track, I’m pretty sure

I owned this album when I was 16, and I loved it, it’s still good
I was a young adult when this came out. I would come home from a bad day at work and listen to this. Sometimes I got drunk and listened to this!
I'm an "old" adult and listen to this too- and when I'm drunk it's very loud!!! ;O)
'Young and Proud' doesn't get nearly the recognition it deserves
One of my favorite albums of all-time.
Jenny is great in Young and Proud. She sounds so melancholic. I always love her 😍
@Tomeu Planells, indeed. Between Jenny and Linn, the two of them always made their songs have this very fresh and "young" vibe to them in the styles, singing and the lyrics. Listening to them today is as good if not better than yesterday!
Once held the world's best selling debut album ever record...
Still going strong in 2017 :D Reminds me of my late grandfather who would play this cassette in his peugeot hehe Thinking about it now, he was quite cool if he was into Ace of Base.
