Dear native land, Nigeria I hail thee not For in hunger's grip My spirit's caught Though your soil rich Your rivers flow free Yet hunger's shadow Grinds my empty belly. Dear native land, Nigeria I hail thee not Amidst your plains Your verdant fields My stomach yields no solace For promises of renewed hope Leaves me hungry And my dreams unfulfilled. Oh Nigeria, Once so proud and bold Now a hunger's tale In the shadow of plenty I languish still With empty plates and dreams to fill So, for disrobing my dignity I hail thee not. 😂😂 Nigeria does not have an issue of the personal Inspiration"😢😢😢.. The last one year has been hell for most Nigerian😢😢😢. Tinubu please allow Nigerians to breath!!!
This Government is a masterful in diverting the attention of Nigerians on the real issues. Instead of Assessing Tinubu's performance, we are here talking about our National Anthem.
😢😢 APC means one step forward and two backwards. Can someone tell me why the priority for this government is a change of National Anthem to please the caprice and massage the ego of Tinubu. In 2014, a video surfaced of BAT wishing for the old anthem to be readopted. Now, he has got what he wanted.
Mope, sense of belonging in an empty stomach? Please our leaders should come up with solutions on security, putting food on the masses table, seeing to the reduction of pump price etc. What has old National Anthem got to do with any of the item mentioned above. It's really ashamed to be debating on National Anthem when people are dying of hunger.
The media showcase this issue of the National Anthem is part of the problem. How many Nigerians sing the national anthem when they wake from sleep and before they go to bed every day. This is just a song that did not cost any money to change. Here is the hypocrisy is this whole thing, when the Igbo in Lagos feel they are being discriminated against in Lagos and other parts of the country there is always a denial by the accused. There is no amount of orientation that would make some people believe that there is equity in Nigeria and all Nigerians are treated the same way. I am not sure why this action by the national assembly is looked as a distraction, a distraction from what? Is the government not still addressing the issues facing the country. In fact the people complaining about this issue that did not cost the government a dime are the ones creating distraction for the government. The general public have the representatives in the national assembly as their mouth piece, therefore, anyone who had any issue with this change should have advised their representative to vote against it. The Nigerian public was aware when this change was being debated in both houses and remained quiet until the bill was p[assed. This has been the biggest problem in Nigeria, the public do not talk to their representatives directly they prefer to go to the media for complain on action taken by their representative. I noticed that some people are already taking the government to court on an issue that has been signed into law already. Now who is creating the distraction the government or the public? I am sure the government will back up their action with reasons as to why they think it was necessary to make the chnage to re-orientate the citizens who have drifted away from what the country stood for after independence. The public will only argue that the anthem was written by a foreigner and it is surprising that it is only when it comes to the national anthem that such allegation comes up. When the European Union reported on the general elections last year, their report was held with the highest credibility that reports from Nigerian observers. Nigerians rush to the American and British embassies to complain about domestics elections. Politicians sue their competitors in American courts because they do not agree with judgement passed by their courts. When will this hypocrisy stop amongst Nigerians? With regards to the national anthems those who do not like the action taken by the government should continue to sing the version of the national item they prefer. For now a ceremonies in the country will be marked by the recent changes by law.
How much is corn now??? Asking for a friend! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Dear native land, Nigeria

Oh Nigeria,
Once so proud and bold
Now a hunger's tale
In the shadow of plenty
I languish still
With empty plates and dreams to fill
So, for disrobing my dignity
I hail thee not.

This Timi's is even more inspiring than the so" calles inspirational national anthem!!
# National Anthem not our priority!
Those people nor send us afterall they nor get their position through our votes ...they are more loyal to INEC and JUDGES.
Another government will come and change it
If Nigeria is heading to the right place, Tinubu will never be in that post.
Nigerians should commence the process of recalling these national assembly members.

This is a distraction to the real issues in the country 😔😭
Mr Akande has no moral obligation to criticize this govt. he was part of the last administration that created most of the current problems.
This is a pure decoy, losing focus on the real matter and openly accepting British supremacy. Hell. This is madt

Na person wey don chop bellefull na him go remember national anthem. This president doesn't know his job anymore. Bullshit
Has he ever known his job.he just wanted to be president to crown the humongous wealth he acquired by his capture of Lagos state finances since 1999.
The point some Nigerians are making abt the national anthem is that, "TINUBU CANNOT THROW ANYTHING AT US TO SWALLOW HOOK, LIKE AND SINKEr!"

Elderly people are in the developmental stage of reminiscence.
It's a singular wish of Tinubu
All our national assembly members don smoke weed that's why they're talking about old national item in 2024,
I
it wasn't an executive bill, stick to facts
