I never knew about your start, Larry. Thank you for being vulnerable in this interview. I'm proud to see how far you've come and proud to call you a friend in photography, cars, and life. Wishing you and the team even greater success in 2025 and beyond.
Thank you to the production staff that put this together. I was so worried when Larry said this was a recording of an event that we were going to end up with a camera from 100ft away and questionable audio quality. thank you Larry and thank you again the who production staff at Race Service.
Larry, you’re one of my main “famous people I aspire to be like” if you will. I’m not a professional photographer but I admire your approach to your craft and what you allow us to see about your life. Thanks for being so authentic for so long. Happy New Year
14:25 I can’t believe I’m gonna say this because I’ve been watching your content and seeing your photography for at least a decade now, but I’ve never noticed until today that there isn’t a Larry Chen watermark. and I think that’s so great, because how ironic is it that one of if not the most successful automotive photographers of our time, does the OPPOSITE of the one thing almost every photographer trying to make it out of the mud does themselves. I love it larry. keeping it classy man
I've been watching your content for a couple of years now, and what you said about the printed magazines suddenly made a click about what I like about almost all of your video's: It's like a video form of the cool articles that used to be in the magazines! Keep up the good work!
I love getting to hear the full Larry Chen story! I had the chance to meet you at the Rolex 24 a few years ago and you definitely do make the 1-on-1s feel special! Thanks for being you!
Being from the same generational background I think I vibe with you because I remember the magazine years. Remember going to my first Hot Import Nights. Remember all the local car scene. Thank you for all you do Larry.
Absolutely was a GREAT HONOR to meet you years back at gridlife To see how talented you’ve been since I was a small kid up till I’m almost 30 is nuts You’ve come a long way done more than anyone will and has as a photographer of your measurement so wish you the best of luck and keep up the great work
Interesting to hear your story, Larry, especially as someone trying to make it as a content creator. You're a great inspiration, and it's fascinating to hear about the challenges of the early days. As one of the audience members brought up, it can feel like such a hard slog at times, especially on social media. You keep trying to pump out content, hoping to get views, but it can feel like a mountain. If I had half the success you've had, I'd be thrilled! Keep it up.
watching this from Kenya in East Africa, as i wait for the new year, which is three hours away at the point of typing this. Larry has a Great relatable story.
I love the constant amazement with builds. Sometimes I'll get caught up in just staring in amazement while I'm shooting at just how much thought went into a build and how much time it must've taken and the amount of detail. I don't have nearly enough time to dedicate my life to photography or videography, I'd love to do it for a living but there just isn't enough time in a day with everything else going on in my life to do it efficiently enough to be professional. But I'm never going to stop because I just love doing it so much.
What a unique and great space, I really enjoyed this video. Thank you Larry, for the vulnerability and the insight into your career and where you have come from. You've inspired me to start to share car content on socail media, thank you. Keep up the amazing work!❤
A late comer to the game, started on pawn shop cameras..and lucky to get good glass later and then invited to rod runs with some exotics for my corner of Texas. Got to photo a couple of Presidents, senators. And other nice folks Marry the Glass, date the camera. You hit it on the head..getting to where the action is and staying in the game . Your artistic side is an inspiration that never stops..so never never stop!
😀 I think Larry has the right idea now, He has a team and has made a name for himself. I love to see him behind the wheel, and people getting nice photos and video of him, he has given to much to us! Cheers Larry!
However gladly found your channel, at first i think this channel about car culture or videos and stuff. surprisingly it more deep than that. The way i see, as your personality in front camera and the way you talk clearly that gives me example of how experience talk itself about consistency, you clearly made your own dream come true, i'm truely happy to watch all your videos because not about car and otomotive but somehow you inspring role model for me, a lot things i learn from your video. . because same as you, i'm asian and working with Creative Production, Camera, etc and you just told me not directly that with good attitude, consistency and focus with what you do, it never fail. Once again, thank you very much for all the positive energy you always bring from all your videos, just wishing all the bless for you Larry.
Astonishing , Riveting Journey Larry👀😤. If it were easy everybody would be doing it. That a Key moment stated for the audience I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again. Larry and Dino 2 Historic Legendary Passionate car culture Vloggers, Cotent creators👌
D1GP .. no one else had big lens? I guess I wasn't attractive enough with my 400mm during 2004-2005. LOL 2006 I realized I was better off gettiing photos with 70-200 + extender and it was much lighter. My friend had a 600mm so maybe he stole all the attention.
When you take a photo from behind someone, it's probably best to not say out loud, "I don't need more than one of these." in a pedantic voice. Just one guy's advice. It's hurtful and unnecessary. I said nothing out of respect for the event holders, but trust me.... it wasn't easy. Be kind.
What a fantastic interview. Talk about a role model.
Brilliant.

You have to check out the car scene in Cape Town
I’d like to attend the next one of these
Wish he would get more into American classics and such. I guess its a natural bias, especially as a *professional* you have to be.
