Excellent video!! I have an average $500 telescope. I decided to buy filters from Amazon because they were inexpensive. One of them was nearly black and was to be used to look at the sun. I put it in the eye piece as instructed. I waited until the sun was just at about the horizon at dusk so the sun wasn’t so intense. So I put the filter on and rather than just look into the scope, I decided to use the cell phone adapter instead. THANK GOD I did that. As I was putting my phone on the telescope I heard a loud “pop”. I then instantly seen smoke….like a little trail kind of like what comes out of an old toy train set. I quickly took the phone off the telescope but it was too late. The sun must have been so intense, it expanded the black glass on the filter and it basically exploded….then the focused light hit the camera lens on my eye phone and melted it making it start to smoke. Destroyed my phone. I took a picture with my wife’s phone of the filter and posted it on Amazon in the reviews. Had I looked with my eye instead of the phone, I’d be totally blind today. All I can say is never trust any filter or set up no matter what. Cheap Chinese shit. I bet someone has lost an eye along the way. It is so dangerous it’s not funny. I’ll look at other peoples sun photography…,I’ll never try that shit again. Can’t imagine what it would have done had it been high noon….I was using it at sunset!
