Now??? People have been buying quite nice telescopes for decades.
For a second it sounded like he was gonna prank his girlfriend 😂
Fun thing though Is I did the same with my refractor but instead of focusing the light to a tiny point I focused it in large form onto a sheet of paper in order to view the sun and it's spots making the scope operate more like a projector than a magnifying glass burning an ant
Omg so cool
Fun fact: The sun is actually white, not yellow. The reason we see it as yellow from cameras is because the Earth's atmosphere scatters blue light more efficiently than red light. The slight deficit of blue light causes the eyes to perceive the sun as yellow, even from cameras.
It gets even better, it is white, but also almost perfect black body ;)
@@notachannelanymore-y1g It was worded this way because it was a joke. Thanks for contributing something interesting.
I’d be a little concerned with your demonstration, that…
1) if the sun isn’t cantered it might be burning the internals of the scope
2) that amount of light/ heat could damage coatings.
Although I’m guessing it’s not a prized possession or anything like that. Good warning otherwise. I’d love to own a solar Ha scope some day.
This is the reason he used his girlfriends telescope.
Am I the only one whose eyes are showing rainbow colors by just looking through video. So bright !
Sun is the goddess who makes you blind if you get tempted to look at her beauty and magnificence.
Not at all... Try sun gazing. Your Norse ancestors did it.
Yes, it does. Read about the cases of irreversible eye injury everytime there is solar eclipse. People use inadequate protection.
because it uses covex lenses which are converging lens,it result in concentration of heat of the source like sun and hence the paper burns

Covex are the worst lenses out there.
My telescope started smoking, I forgot to rotate it
,,😂😂😂😂😂
Rip
Here honey, I bought you a telescope.
I remember in primary I went to a science museum which handed out glasses with a polarising filter on them, so you could look at the sun. I mentioned this to my teacher at the time, saying how they were special glasses that you could look at the sun with and she said that you should never look at the sun in a tone that made my seem very stupid. Little did she know that she was bloody wrong because you could look at the sun in them because they were bloody polarised. Anyways no, I don’t hold onto my past.
Teachers are assholes just like police, security guards etc
In fairness, she meant the Newspaper
A number 14 welders filter is safe to use to look at the sun
Do you have an equipment list? Your telescope looks awesome
Welding masks work well for looking at the sun!
Directly, yes. But don't count on it if you concentrate the sunlight with a telescope.
I was once looking at girl's hostel for some reason with binoculars and by mistake the sun came in bet and in less than a sec my eyes learned a lesson...
