    Stomp is still awesome for me as well, I did buy some analog pedals but what the stomp offers is bloody good value for money, can't wait to see what the next iteration of modelling will be for Line6!

      Yeh theyll be something in the pipeline for sure. Seems they don’t need to really rush it either which is good as these keep being updated for free haha

    I have just recently started using the HX Stomp into my HX Effects running through the Seymour Duncan Powerstage 200, and it is incredible. Using the HX Effects as the brain and the stomp as my amp

      nice what are you using for monitoring/volume?

    • @PetesGuitar2303
      @PetesGuitar2303 Месяц назад

      For volume I am using a Marshall 4x12cab straight from the PowerStage 200, which sounds immense. Only external effect now is a Vox 847 wah, as I use Amp tones for grit/ distortion, which has a tendency to keep it as real as possible.
      Got my whole idea from Ritchie Castellano's YT episode

      do you find it better to leave the IRs on even though your using a real 412?

    • @PetesGuitar2303
      @PetesGuitar2303 Месяц назад

      @@Paul-D since I am using the powerstage as my amp, and going into a real cab, I don't need to use IR's, as with the 2 types of speaker going, it can sound weird, so I just use the amp on the stomp, and all effects pre and post using the hx effects.
      Has been working well so far, and I am using this in a live gigging situation, not just in my bedroom at home all the time, playing Live is where all the fun is to me

    Nice video guys! Just came cross your channel! I have a Stomp XL too. How do you guys set your preferences in it? Like the input impedance. Mine is set to auto and Enabled (which means that the impedance will be based on the first that activate). But My 70's chorus ways drop down the volume, so I have to switch the impedance to 1ohm or set the preferences to "first" (that will consider the impedance of the first pedal in the chain, even if it is off). Your 70s chorus just sounded really good! Can you guys tell me how you have your impedance preferences set? Greetings from Brazil!

      Thanks dude - I think on the 70s chorus it has a level meter a few pages over in the settings which you can make the Db back up.
      I have noticed some of the delays and mods increase or decrease your overall volume in the way you mentioned, and ive had enough of the real pedal counterparts to know they do the same but dont offer the control to fix it haha.

    I use the Hx stomp in my band with the Seymour Duncan powerstage 170 to power the cab and I love it. I frequently get compliments on my sound. I use a TS before stomp and a clean solo boost pedal in loop. Perfect for me even in 2024.

      I would love to try one of those powerstages through a cab. Or the new stereo power stage through 2 cabs 😅

    Ugh I've gone through some amp modellers over the last few years... But I ended up back on the Stomp, the main reason is just how easy it is to use compared to other units. I'm using mine like you, more just for the effects but I also have a patch with some amp sim for recording too. Actually got a vid coming out later going over my pedal board and how I'm using the HX integrated into it.

    the whole HX line up of stuff is still totally relevant and stands up to more modern digital stuff, the only thing ive never seemed to get on with in the HX world is the drives. There only ever 'ok' compared to a decent standalone drive pedal

    Unless I plan on recording and releasing music I can’t imagine needing anything more than the stomp offers. It slots into my pedalboard, gives me a palette of great effects, allows me switch between my amp and a bunch of amp model, gives lots of output options. Hard to see what a future iteration can offer besides a touch screen (who cares), IR capture (not something I would use) and “higher quality” effects (maybe, but already more than good enough for me).

      exactly mate, great bit of kit - there is something to be said for comparing it to analog gear of course.... but.... for most of us its just not worth going down that rabbit hole haha

    I have owned a Stomp since they came out & now use it as effects & IR loader only, the fact that Line 6 keep updating the unit means its totally relevent after all this time & still a good investment.

    • @Paul-D

    Be careful! The notion that we have to chase every trend and buy every new product is a trap. Some of the best I have heard go straight into the amp.

    I think the stomp XL is the perfect sized form factor for an all in 1 unit. Easily still competes with the new units. The sounds are still great and the newer modellers dont really innovate anything in such a huge way. How much DSP does a live gigging musician use?. If you run out of DSP your using waaayyy more than anything all our hero guitarists ever used. Keep It Simple.

    • @Paul-D

      There hasnt been anything that hands down makes the HX stuff redundant - i mean even the previous gen to that still has its uses like the M9 etc
