Jack Rota lavender is drop a i believe but I don’t have a problem playing drop a songs on a 4 string bass. I’m sure that 5 string basses are better suited for drop a though. The strings are really loose otherwise.

Everyone says its to 'help learn to play the song' but thats obviously not the case in any non-instructional video. The whole culture is to show off gear and editing chops. Theyd be making instructionals with 2 angles if teaching the song was really the goal.

From the looks of it, yup. Just make sure you have them tuned to Drop C# for songs like this, and Drop Bb for songs like VREDE and LAVENDER.
