- Iron Man 3 was plenty sinful, so much so that we turned over to our fans the keys to the sin counter. This entire video--every sin, every outtake, the bonus round, and even the sentencing--is fan-suggested.

We received over 20,000 individual sin submissions from over 5,000 participants. Note to self: next time, hire interns.
If your sin didn't make the final cut, it definitely doesn't mean we hate you. Probably. There were a TON of great sins that we couldn't squeeze into this video, and all in all we were very impressed with the submissions. If we ever decide to retire, the Internet nitpicker's club will be in fine hands with you folks around. If you guys enjoy this, we'll have to do it again sometime soon.

Niop Tres So does the brute force of a demi-God. For some reason, Iron Man can go toe to toe with Thor, but a single touch from Killian dissolves his suit. Again, makes no sense.
He did go toe to toe, Thor pummeled him physically, not just with his lightening. If his suit can withstand the brutal force and abuse of a demi-god(!!!), it's moronic that a heat producing mutant can take it apart with a simple touch. It's that simple. Thor can't do it, but Killian can. That would make the extremis mutants stronger than Thor. Again, makes no sense.

Yet Rhodey was able to work a suit without any difficulty in Iron Man 2 immediately after taking it and yet never once used it before. This includes the whole flying thing which took Tony a good while to figure out how to do.

The worst sin was taking on of Iron Mans greatest enemies and the whole motif of Science vs Magic and turning him into a joke.
How this isnt the top comment i dont know. Its shameful that they didnt have the balls to push for this. It was my only reason for wanting to see the movie. The possibilities they could have pulled off with the Mandarins rings vs Tony's gadgets would have been sick.

Also, why make multiple suits if he can just work on his and Iron Patriot's suits and make them "indestructible". I mean, he DID create or discover an element in the last movie and he's incredibly rich. And if he did make multiple suits anyways, why blow them all up ? You could at least leave one behind.
Plus, did he really need to have a "real" heart ? He was better off with the mechanical one since, you know, it powered the suit and kept him from being a Loki slave in The Avengers, etc...
Actually, the arc reactor was not a heart, it's an electromagnet which keeps a bit of shrapnel from a bomb from reaching his actual, organic, heart so taking it away was better as now he has nothing that dangers his life and no one can kill him with a turn and pull now.

Here's another sin. Jarvis doesn't recognize Pepper even though he was programmed not to hurt her. Tony also doesn't program any of his suits to not harm her.
And you'd think Tony would have some sort of fail safe program for his suits to never harm pepper. Why he didn't do that in the beginning when he's freaking out in bed is beyond me.
I also read that he programmed his left nut sack not to slap Pepper on the right eyeball.

the suit that was destroyed by the truck was the mark 42, which throughout this movie has been shown to only be a prototype and not battle ready like the other suits, hence why its really just used for flight and escape stuff

Still bothers me SO MUCH that his PTSD is never addressed after this. Panic attacks don't disappear cause your girlfriend knocks out the bad guy. It makes Tony so human and even more amazing, since it doesnt stop him from still caring and fighting on. Don't mind me.. Iron Man is forever my fave of the mcu.

yes it was indicated that the Mandarin does infact exist and is just so well hidden that people think he's a myth. which is what AIM took advantage of to make him seem real. Wihtout actually knowing he IS real.

They should have skipped the whole panic attack thing a focus on his sleep deprivation. A lot of Tony's action could have been explained by sleep deprivation. His bizarre behavior with Pepper, his inability to focus, his increasing strange suit designs (the equivalent of bat shark repellent) and his general refusal to simple ask for help.
Come to think of it, when he's sleep deprived he creates goofy suits . . . when he's well rested he creates Ultron. Sleep deprivation might not be such a bad thing for him after all.

True, although it made me kinda glad that they went with the panic attacks, it's somewhat comforting for a person who suffers from an anxiety disorder to see such a prominent figure dealing with it, helps with normalising something that can be extremely crippling.

The movie should have also dealt with Tony's alcoholism. I know Iron Man 2 kinda dealt with this, but an adaptation of Demon in a bottle would have been very interesting.

The Audi R8 e-tron (the car in the movie) is fully electric, not a hybrid. So no, it can't make that noise

The standard Audi R8 is a 5.2 liter Naturally Aspirated V10, at least with more recent models, and no electric drive motors, so there is no way that it could be silent one moment and roaring to life the next, unless you start it while moving, which is dangerous. The Audi R8 e-tron, the fully electric version has two electric motors, so there is no engine noise whatsoever. As I stated, the recent models had V10s, but early models and the concept had the V8 twin turbo from Mercedes and the AMG performance brand from their GT and GT R.

probably the biggest one is when Maya is going to inject herself with the serum to threaten Killian and she says the amount she has is 1,200 CC's. which is 1.2 liters. and she somehow holds it in the palm of her hand.
You missed a big one. Why is he using the MK42 when he’s expecting the Mandarin to attack his house. Jarvis said during the battle “this suit is not combat ready”.
Why wasn't Pepper killed off in this movie? So you will (SPOILER ALERT) kill off Gwen Stacy in Amazing Spider-Man 2 but you won't kill off Pepper Potts in Iron Man 3. theres a reason they call it a COMIC. BOOK. MOVIE. Its based on the comic. sure a few details can be changed. but gwen stacy dieing is a major part of spiderman's story, you can't just cut that out. Also pepper might have a role in the next avenger movie.
Andrew Long I can think of several occasions where they cut things out. Take The Mandarin, it seemed like he was an awesome villain who was pure evil, but in the movie he was just a joke, an unfunny disappointing joke that nobody got. Or the Dark Knight trilogy, felt too grounded and too realistic compared to the comics and of course, who could forget Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine!

the deadpool thing, while out of place and done completely wrong, was partirally true. He was weapon x, but they way the put him in the movie was way wrong. The point is Gwen stacy died because it is a key part of the story of spiderman. Honestly most people don't know about the mandarin, or dead pool, but spiderman? most people know about him, and how gwen stacy is involved.
The worst part was the ending: Gwyneth Paltrow saving the day in a sports bra and yoga pants.

I'm the audience that pays my six bucks and expects to see a movie that portrays what it advertises, which is Iron Man getting his ass kicked by the Manderin, but instead I get to see a POS Iron Man movie that doesn't live up to the original movie. Of course the Mark42 Armour breaks apart when hit by a truck - unlike the original suit you (or a viewer) compared it too which was slowly bolted/screwed together, the Mark42 is DESIGNED to quickly hook together on the move. It's like making a LEGO man & complaining that his legs don't stay on as well as a G1 Optimus Prime - you're not comparing the same thing.
As for why "Slattery" playing the Mandarin isn't recognized... he's a small time panto actor from England who has been given a massive hair-do, full beard, sunglasses, has a thick fake accent and has only just appeared in public. In REAL LIFE acts of terrorism the perpetrators can go years without being recognized & yet a panto star from England should be instantly known by the whole of America? Oh.. and Superman much? :3
Oh... and just one more time - the Iron Man suits have oxygen supplies in them allowing him to stay underwater for a good while. If his suits didn't have an o2 supply he would have some pretty major issues flying at high altitudes. :D
But I have to agree with pretty much ALL of the actual filming mistakes such as scars changing positions between cuts, I really wish Faverau had directed Iron Man 3 instead, Iron Man 2 was only bad due to the sheer amount of crap the studios forced him to dump into the film.

In the end credits scene of "Iron Man 3," Tony takes a therapist session with Bruce Banner (aka. the split personality of the Hulk.) So... Tony is basically taking advice from a guy with major anger management issues who can turn into a giant green monster with enough strength to kill Iron Man 50 time over. WTF!!
It happened in Avengers. So by then Bruce not only has almost full control of the hulk in his green, hulky form but can also produce him out of this air in a second. so in Avengers Bruce is a motherfucking master of anger management.

I think Bruce and Hulk have this mutual agreement to not destroy each other and in exchange they can willingly change personalities (except in special circumstances) and subconsciously communicate to achieve a goal that neither of them can complete on their own. Basically, Bruce is Hulks conscious when Hulk is full of nothing but anger and power. But that is only my opinion.
In the circumstance in which Hulk attacks Black Widow, Banner and Widow fell several floors after the level they were on exploded. Widow was slightly injured, but Banner was as well. From the injury, Hulk force himself out (probably to protect himself) and began attacking everything that moved, Like an angry bull in a boxing ring.

Iron Man 3 was pandaring (no-pun intended) to the chinese market as showing a stereotype chinese villian would have gone down pretty badly with the CCP and probably make it not included in the limited amount of western films that are allowed to be shown in china.
