Hello! It's been a while since I released a video with a playlist, but today is the day! Here's some of my favorite *fish themed* songs: open.spotify.com/playlist/0b3ZYuyvizQFCqsutwBg9u?si=VSB4J3g2Qji1qQE1a_VcaA
The real question is, what is the message he is trying to convey with the image? Do celebrities really want to desperately convey the idea that they are adrogynous. Why do celebrities insist on creating lies, chaos, confusion to their viewers/fans? What is the purpose of their existence? These celebrities are 100% serving lies and enjoy feeding these lies to their fan base.
Not to mention the fact that Harry’s music video “adore you” features a little fish in a big pond. An analogy of how Harry Styles himself felt whilst growing up in the small town he was from. Eventually that fish becomes too big and needs to be let out into the world to discover new things.
ummm, that photo may have been shot in a creative way but I think you're going to end up a little disappointed when you realize the idea behind that photo.
I feel like I was almost tricked out of it I didn't click on this at first because I don't care about Harry styles but totally would've clicked a video called "music's obsession with the fisheye lense"
@Marianne Lol, he has nothing of insight to say, he sounds empty headed most of the time he talks, and he talks in cliches and what sounds like peddling what others say.
Will Ashe exactly. Hype Williams may have spread the use for hip hop, but Spike Jonze was famous for utilizing the style in skating for the alternative world. So it’s unfortunate they did not mention his influence as well.
I almost didn't watch this because of the title. I thought it was going to be like the video where they over-analyzed that Taylor Swift song. Harry Styles fans far outnumber those interested in the history of the fish eye lens though.
They probably play a bigger role in selling albums, but that is diminishing as more people consume music digitally. Nowadays you could probably look at album artwork as helping to establish the artists brand, I guess, although that was probably always the case as well.
So amazing to see the rich history of the fisheye lens, which even today help us capture the world in 360 and 180 degrees for that signature action camera perspective, virtual reality video (some examples on my channel), 3D mapping and reconstruction, remote sensing and lest we forget - the wide angle selfie 🤳 :-)
Don't mind me but at around 7:01 - 7:03 it's hardly noticeable but you can catch a cool reference to Billy Corgan changing the title of the Smashing Pumpkins' album to "Gish" because "Phish" was already taken, haha. Also, this was such an interesting video!! Harry Styles is so precious as an artist and as a person❤
I was tricked into watching 7 minutes of physics. I have midterms to study for, which I was trying to procrastinate, and now I’m watching science videos. *Great.*
Disappointed that skateboarding wasn’t mentioned at all in this video about the fish eye. All I’ve ever know a fisheyes lens was used for filming skateboarding.. im going to make a better video than this
I bought a fisheye lens And made a rap video with a couple of friends It goes "waughmp waughmp" All the ladies and mens They know everything is better with a fisheye lens
MoonlightSolace yes some fans have speculated that the fish represents the fans, so thats why the album cover was shot with a fisheye lens bc harry has said numerous times that this album is for the fans
The price dropped of course. Now everyone can jus WAUMP WAUMP buy a fish eye lens, make a rap video with a couple of friends. WAUMP WAUMP All the ladies and mens know everything is better with a fish eye lens.
Harry Styles? Try about five years earlier when a certain wrestleman had his friend get his green mittens on a fisheye lens to make a rap video with a couple of friends. Because all the ladies and the mens know that everything is better with a fisheye lens.
Very disappointed in Vox for this click-baity title. I don't mind learning about this stuff, but do NOT extract emotional labor from me to get me to watch it. I'm in the science industry, I'm already interested, just let me know that's what it is.
Maybe another factor is the circular format of the fish-eye photo fitting neatly on the square sleeve of traditional vinyl and which is also suggestive of the disc inside.

Rachel Munoz why are you assuming that an androgynous image is a lie?
Love the fisheye. Been using it since I was a teen for skateboarding photography! Great video btw!
Vox this don’t gotta none to do with Harry styles
999
You just waited for someone to release an album with a picture taken by a fisheye camera didn’t you?
It’s a smart tactic considering a title talking about “fisheye cameras” would be much less appealing than this.
NV oh yes definitely. The small album cover deep dive was quite nice
I've heard a story about this guy
No
Santeri64
From a Jedi?
Not to mention the fact that Harry’s music video “adore you” features a little fish in a big pond. An analogy of how Harry Styles himself felt whilst growing up in the small town he was from. Eventually that fish becomes too big and needs to be let out into the world to discover new things.
In Eroda - the fish,
and the album cover - fish eye.
I can’t believe his album cover has theory and history, good i have new knowledge! Wow thank you vox
ummm, that photo may have been shot in a creative way but I think you're going to end up a little disappointed when you realize the idea behind that photo.
Vox really got me this time
I feel like I was tricked into learning scientific history
David Estrada ‘tis their goal
god forbid
If science was taught this way, maybe more of us would contribute better to our society.
agreed
I feel like I was almost tricked out of it I didn't click on this at first because I don't care about Harry styles but totally would've clicked a video called "music's obsession with the fisheye lense"
Vox: The real story behind this Harry Styles album cover
2 seconds later
Vox: Physics
Thank god. I have no Idea who Harry Styles is and was just hoping for an interesting Vox video.
ahahahaha lol
This was great
Lol, I'm disappointed
and history
I just watched something that *Harry* himself don't know
true ahahhaha
@Marianne actually it was a joke..... But ok.... Have a nice day
@Marianne He probably doesn’t, he’s not very smart. If he learned it it’s cause someone told him
Hahahhah that's what I was thinking
@Marianne Lol, he has nothing of insight to say, he sounds empty headed most of the time he talks, and he talks in cliches and what sounds like peddling what others say.
In his single adore you, he has a fish friend, so the way that looking at his album cover makes you feel like the fish is very clever
ohhh right
dude I was just thinking that
We are the fish looking at him. He adores us
Julia Wilson omg
Interesting...
thought: the fish eye photo is an ode to the fish from Adore You
Julia Wilson that’s exactly what I was thinking lol
the fans are the fish.
@@josephcastano4598 the fans are fish looking up to the stars?
i think so too
No he is the fish. A small fish in a big pond turned big fish in a small pond. That’s the analogy. He’s too big to stay in one spot forever.
Came here for Harry, stayed for physics.
same
Womp womp I bought a fish eye lens to make a rap video with a couple of friends
4 vanishing points
The story behind Harry's cover -- or a history of the fisheye lens?
Fishbait.
SHARK BAIT OO HAH HAH
😂😂
It’s hard to think about fish eye without mentioning skate videos.
This is what I thought, the fisheye lens and skate vids go hand in hand
Will Ashe exactly. Hype Williams may have spread the use for hip hop, but Spike Jonze was famous for utilizing the style in skating for the alternative world. So it’s unfortunate they did not mention his influence as well.
The better title would be:
"The history of the fish eye lens and why it's used for album covers"
Every channel needs them clicks!
not clickbaity enough
Not attractive enough! They did it just right
Not a lot of people would click on that though.
I almost didn't watch this because of the title. I thought it was going to be like the video where they over-analyzed that Taylor Swift song. Harry Styles fans far outnumber those interested in the history of the fish eye lens though.
When I tell you I freaked that Vox made a video about Harry Styles
Ikrrr!!!
They didn’t...they made one about fisheye lens 🤣
They just took the chonce to make a video about the history of fisheye lens
They didn't...
his fans gon be real disappointed this isnt an 8 min vid about him
LOVER LINK definitely disappointed
REALLY dissapointed 😔
At least y'all learned something
Nope
i’m not disappointed, this information is new and good
I wasn't expecting this but i'm pleasantly surprised
This video escalated from a fun gossip video to a history lesson
Vox: you know that one new Harry Styles album? It’s a fish eye lens.
*proceeds to make a 8 minute video explaining what a fish eye lens is*
A+ work. Groundbreaking lens.
vox writes about the most interesting topics in such creative ways
Outstanding history lesson. Well researched and illustrated.
producer: let's add fish eye effect to the album cover
garry: yeah, looks cool
vox: PHYSICS TIME
Garry or Harry?
*Harry
Who's garry?😂
i love garry styles
He likes old music
i came for harry and ended up with a free history lesson 😳✌️
And then there’s the whole universe of skaters using this
Chevy Cadiente Fr
I’m saving up to get a vx1000
It's not A turkey dope dude the classic camera
Teacher: stop listening to that album and start do your work
Harry's fans: it's physic mam
Harry Styles featuring a fish in Adore You mv and I didn't even notice that the album cover was on a fish-eye perspective. Very impressive!
Vox paying attention to detail won my appreciation
I never thought I'd see harry styles on vox. I'm glad it happened (somehow)
Came for Harry Styles. Stayed for the history lesson. Thanks Vox.
Missed a huge topic about the use of Fisheye lens in the skateboarding scene
IMurdocI Exactly this
Manger: How many psychedelic references do you want?
Harry: Yes, please
Tpwk
Came for Harry stayed for Physics that I'll never need in my life.
Rowena Williams every source of knowledge makes you less dumber than you currently are...
You don’t need Harry and what did he teach you?
from harry styles to physics
this escalated quickly.
What effect to album covers actually have a listening experience? Can an album cover make or break the experience ?
They probably play a bigger role in selling albums, but that is diminishing as more people consume music digitally. Nowadays you could probably look at album artwork as helping to establish the artists brand, I guess, although that was probably always the case as well.
Title: The real story behind this Harry Styles album cover
Actual title:
*History of the fish eye lens*
"So what all are you going to explain in the video?"
Vox : "yes"
You forgot skateboarding videos
this is pure facts right here. Fisheye lenses and skateboard videos go hand in hand, and yet not a single skating video is played
finally someone said it
You misspelled Jimi Hendrix’s last name in the description. “Hendricks”
His Thumbnail looks like a JoJo Posing lol
Its jojo siwa smh
I'm not gonna lie, I expected it to be a pop culture take on Harry Styles, not one of your best and most researched videos. Kudos.
I was waiting for a Harry styles cover photo explanation... but nope
How a fish see the world.. . the door fish eye... Eroda... I Adore you, and so on :)
I THOUGHT I WAS WATCHING GENIUS AND IT STARTED TALKING ABOUT SOME PHYSICIST.
*Great.*
2020 Phones might be having these
You can buy a fisheye phone lens for a fiver on amazon.
2020 eye* phones you mean?
i had it in 2014 in my phone
I felt like I was witnessing a parallel world come to life when I saw vox and Harry styles together, this is just brilliant
I was really hoping this would be a bout psychedelic music from the 60s and 70s
He sure does have Hair Styles
this wasn’t really about harry’s album cover though...
Bri J it’s the story behind the cover
it didn’t explain the blue and pink, the hand, his posture, or anything about harry’s actual album
Bri J yeah because it cost a lot of money to make these videos and if you talked about gossip around the album it wouldn’t age well
Brendan McCabe but then the title should be related to the fish eye camera, not harry styles
Bri J lol that won't be vox.
Why did you make us understand physics in the name of the album? 😆
Being a Harry fan gives me more education than school, excellent service
Don't forget that the fisheye lens has also been a huge part of the action sports industry.
Disappointed that skateboarding wasn’t mentioned at all in this video about the fish eye. All I’ve ever know a fisheyes lens was used for filming skateboarding.. im going to make a better video than this
the title is about music, not their fault u didn't read it
literally no need to bring up taylor swift he didn't do it on purpose
this was 30 seconds of harry styles and 8 minutes of fish eye lenses
I bought a fisheye lens
And made a rap video with a couple of friends
It goes "waughmp waughmp"
All the ladies and mens
They know everything is better with a fisheye lens
why is no one talking about how the main character in "adore you" was harry and THE FISH!!!! HELLO COINCIDENCE I THINK NOT
MoonlightSolace yes some fans have speculated that the fish represents the fans, so thats why the album cover was shot with a fisheye lens bc harry has said numerous times that this album is for the fans
Harry Styles, a pop culture genius(?)
The fisheye lens’s loyalty has always been to the skate community ✊
vox-*talks about the fisheye*
also vox-*doesnt talk about skate filming*
The price dropped of course. Now everyone can jus WAUMP WAUMP buy a fish eye lens, make a rap video with a couple of friends. WAUMP WAUMP All the ladies and mens know everything is better with a fish eye lens.
Running out of ideas? Lol
I loved the Smashing Pumpkins, Gish album. ✌
OMG WOW I NEVER THOUGHT THEY WOULD COVER THIS BUT THEY DID AND IM SO HAPPY!!
IT GOES WAUGHMP WAUGHMP! ALL THE LADIES AND MENS, THEY KNOW EVERYTHING LOOKS BETTER WITH A FISHEYE LENS!
Woke up this morning in a rap song video…
can we have a full dissect on why did harry styles release the album on TS bday??? OMG TEA
Womp Womp... I got a Fisheye lens! I make a rap video with a couple of friends!
Things are about to get...
*BULBOUS*
Mentions Harry for barely 30 secs
I really thought you were going to interview Tim Walker
This is some next level promotion of an upcoming music album.
It already came out but yes
I like the way Harry Styles fans analyzed the whole picture like a project
me: what does overkill mean
vox: this
My gawd I've never been this early to a Vox upload. Hey guys, happy viewing!
Harry Styles?
Try about five years earlier when a certain wrestleman had his friend get his green mittens on a fisheye lens to make a rap video with a couple of friends.
Because all the ladies and the mens know that everything is better with a fisheye lens.
AND THEN THE PRICE DRAAAAAAAPPPPSSSSSS
10 for Harry Style, cause I've learned the entire history of fish eye.
Expected some JoJo references...but nevermind. Great work vox, As always.
Are we going to see Instagram adopt These Circular Frames
I was expecting a video actually about Harry Style’s album cover
So he made his album cover dedicated to the 60's with a modern day twist?
ok but
what about that disembodied hand
About Harry Styles' cover they said
but its all about fish eye lense
thought we're getting some behind the scene of the photoshoot itself or sumn not a history lesson, but still nice tho lol
clicked for Harry, wasn’t about Harry...
little moody after being used
need to get rid of toxic in community
I mean I was expecting why he chose that album cover..... not a physics lesson.......
Love his music & style :)
what's the backround music in the start??
Good thing you changed it from the story behind harry’s cover to the apt history of fisheye lens!! 🌟 no longer click baity..
Very disappointed in Vox for this click-baity title. I don't mind learning about this stuff, but do NOT extract emotional labor from me to get me to watch it. I'm in the science industry, I'm already interested, just let me know that's what it is.
I clicked for Harry, and got fish... this is just like the Adore You music video
That's how teachers tricked us into learning science.
This video is probably directed by my Physics professor.
Hello sir🙌
This isnt the story behind harry styles album cover, its the history of the fisheye lens. Just stated the obvious there i know.
Maybe another factor is the circular format of the fish-eye photo fitting neatly on the square sleeve of traditional vinyl and which is also suggestive of the disc inside.
Fish eye lenses have also been a big thing in skateboarding too. I LOVE this video, being a big fan of music and photography.
Everyone knows fisheye means late 90s skateboard videos with punk rock music
3:22 homie did the first ever 60s psychedelic album cover
Idk but it works perfectly with the round profile picture frame that all social media have
I always like the way how they include the inventors.
when i got the notification for this i didn't even think it was real omg
