the pads at the beginning (at least the last one at 0:08) are from a Jungle Pack from Blu Mar Ten ;) I knew I had heard the third pad before, Sonic Pad 2 - 5A
I’ve never had any video so perfectly explain why I love jungle so much. Especially those first three examples, those are the types of sounds I’m listening for.
It’s the fluidity of jungle which sets it apart for me. Unlike techno which too often tends to be repetitive, the percussion becomes both the structure and the flavour in jungle music.
Pads in jungle are special, but honestly for me it's the deep dub-inspired sub bass and ragga vocal performances of artists like Demolition Man that make it one of the best forms of music ever in my eyes. Just a perfect combination of elements, and when you have the pads too rocking the track back and forth from aggressive hype banger to interesting emotive synth chords... *chefs kiss*
I was all ready to listen to a half hour video essay on the history of this genre and why it evokes the feelings it does, only to get hit like a truck when I realized it wasn't an intro and the video was over. Very well done!
ive been really really trying to get into jungle lately. im a kid wishing to gain more knowledge on drum and bass as of right now. does anyone have any album recommendations? ill take anything tbh
Start with Goldie - Timeless. But the genre isn’t album focused necessarily. Look at artists like Shy Fx, Dillinja, LTJ Bukem, M-Beat and understand the genre quickly (by today’s plural-globalculture standards) mutated into ‘techstep’ or DnB around 1996. Labels like V Recordings, Metalheadz and early Ram Records are all seminal. Revivalists like PinkPantheress and Nia Archives are still burning the fire in exciting ways.
@@dropthisYT alright! sweet =) so far the only jungle albums ive ever listened to were if you're into it, im out of it and a few albums from venetian snares. thanks for the recommendations! =)
Is this from microtonality? It really strikes me how so much music theory is based on the 12 tones dogma. There's nothing inherently restricting sound to arbitrary notes, it's just fairly easy to make good sounding things with that. I much prefer music that goes beyond and breaks the "rules"
oh yeah, this guy is gonna blow up.
Sometimes you just know
Undeserved. Nothing original here, just copying those ultra fast edits from others. I hate the new youtube.
Just a gamer.. powerful.
First sample is Bukem Enchanted, second is Flytronix Rare Tear 2 and the third is Seba & Lotek Sonic Winds... 🤛
Sick algo pull. Just one issue I have: video isn't long enough! haha :) Looking forward to more stuff from you

this is correct. I am sure they could be IDed by a proper head. I will dig out the sample names if I get a moment.

i usually don't like "techno/electronic" music, but for some reason i love Jungle and DnB
i personally am a sucker for bass music in general
