Remembering Jackmaster and exploring bereavement within dance music.

DJ EZ and uk garage's most important sample
Просмотров 4,9 тыс.Месяц назад
'There's no doubt, he's the most impactful, consequential DJ in the genre.' My small tribute to a UK music institution and UKG's top selector. For decades now, DJ EZ has shaped the sound and championed the genre on radio and across international stages. There's no UK Garage in it's current form without DJ EZ. My (still pretty new) channel is all about electronic music and UK dance music culture.

'This is a recording that makes me sad, nostalgic, melancholic, but I also want to like... dance?' A short exploration into Glue by Bicep, which I believe is a dancefloor masterpiece. My (new) channel is all about electronic music and UK dance music culture.
is electronic music human after all?

'It's the humanity wrapped up within a breakbeat... that's what keeps us pulling us back' A quick argument into the case for artistry, humanity and music producers as the world continues to get caught up with discussions of artificial intelligence and creativity. I'm not anti-AI BTW! I think it's a wonderful creative tool. Hear me out... My (new) channel is all about electronic music and UK dan...
why is jungle music so revolutionary and emotive?
Просмотров 5 тыс.Месяц назад
'When people who haven't learnt to make traditional music... make new forms of music... that to me, is the essence of punk' This is a quick dive into just why a small part of jungle music encapsulates the revolutionary nature of British dance music culture during the early part of the 1990s. My (new) channel is all about electronic music and UK dance music culture.
Great channel mate 😌
I like the video style, but i that it took a little long to get to the point even though the video isn't even 90 sec long.
Sometimes the algorithm reminds me that I am cool
Awesomeness personified track ❤
I met DJ EZ this year as I was closing after him for his Melbourne (AUS) show. He is one of the most humble people I have ever met in the scene. Told him how I was super nervous to play after such an iconic DJ, and he was like "Im sure you will kill it" and gave me words of encourgement. Told him I also made music and he genuinly was like "Send it through" and he actually listened to all of it. I'v met alot of people in the scene and have never met someone that shows so much respect/care for the art. Not a single shred of ego or toxic qualities. Man is the goat fr
"most important sample in UK garage" fucking lol what?? Is that some dubplate nerd inside joke?
Ez is the dj where his mixes are better than the tracks he plays. You just can’t wait to hear how he brings the next tune in
#probably the best dj in the world forget just garage #titan #heavyweeight ruclips.net/video/TZ43lJo3-zM/видео.html
WHY IS WHUKA SO NAPOLEON? AND LOST!
What's a Girl to Do it's a masterpiece.
Pads in jungle are special, but honestly for me it's the deep dub-inspired sub bass and ragga vocal performances of artists like Demolition Man that make it one of the best forms of music ever in my eyes. Just a perfect combination of elements, and when you have the pads too rocking the track back and forth from aggressive hype banger to interesting emotive synth chords... *chefs kiss*
yes. end of video.
First sample is Bukem Enchanted, second is Flytronix Rare Tear 2 and the third is Seba & Lotek Sonic Winds... 🤛
Track ID in the background?
Me.
Good song bro. Do you upload them somewhere?
@@vizicalt578 thanks sir, yeah i do need to get them up when i can
After watching this video, one interesting conclusion arose to me. Where Losing It tried (very hard), but ultimately miserably failed, Glue absolutely smashed it. The thing in question is capturing the zeitgeist of early-mid 21st century dance music btw i literally "created my channel" just to leave this comment here. absolutely stellar channel you have boiling on that stove mate, so glad i caught it in it's infancy. here's to many more dropping these, mr. drop this, or better yet, keep on droppin' this in the this dropped world!
Big up, i will keep the stove cookin’!
this is dope. deserves wayyyyy more attention
Loving this channel mate, keep it up!!
you gotta post these as yt shorts, trust they would blow up. great vid
Hell yeah, giving that extra bump cause it feels good to see some proper content! Cheers!
The chord sound from intro 6.
you're an absolute fucking heathen for not putting the track ID in this
any garage head knows its his own
I seriously don't see why this content isn't exploding.
bro wtf is this comment section lol great video. great track.
DJ EZ is what James Hype thinks he is
🤣 don't believe the Hype!
Nah man... DJ EZ is DJ EZ and James Hype is James Hype, both exceptional in their gifts.
That guys such a melt.. Tiktok wasteman
FACTS
James Hype is super cringe. EZ is the authentic master.
<3
What’s the chune that plays around 0:45?
I think it's Bicep - Feel it idk dude made a video about that song
i subbed
I was all ready to listen to a half hour video essay on the history of this genre and why it evokes the feelings it does, only to get hit like a truck when I realized it wasn't an intro and the video was over. Very well done!
What is the song at the end???
How to tell me you are boring and basic without telling me you are boring and basic 🥱
edge lord
you’re cooked 😂 this is easily their most mid banger
yo bro cant believe how informative this is really made me think about bicep glue about like how its kinda speaking to the people in their own language kinda way yknow. safe bro innovative content
Basic song
While I do think Glue is a masterpiece and captures the spirit of dance music vividly, it most certainly isn't very danceable. It's like a painting about dance music but isn't a dance record itself. That's how I feel about it.
WGAF.
"Most certainly isn't very danceable" ? It's not far off from a UK garage beat, something I'd consider very danceable. I guess the term "danceable" has been reduced to mean a straight 4/4 kick drum these days, but many people prefer breakbeats like this to get them moving
Beautiful track, so full of emotion and nostalgia. 👏
big ups
drop this. dropped. another banger
I used to dj about from 2004 till 2014. I feel the same about this track. In my understanding it's because the coice of instruments and ensamble which sound a lot like those days incasulated in feelings after raves.
Oh man, I think I heard this song for the first time in the streamer B0aty's playlist when Twitch still "allowed" unlicenced music. It feels like a billion years ago now. Fitting.
Yes. Thank you b0aty
drop this. wont stop making video masterpieces
Ugh, 2 percussion loops with few tracks fading in and out with zero beat progression or actual danceable melody. If that's what dnb is evolving into, please take me back to jungle. Come on, BoC did this 30 years ago and it was both more complex and melodic.
this isn't dnb and isn't trying to be dnb
@@triturn8676 doesn't justify the poor qualities of the song
yo i know a guy who knows alex in bicep
Sending regards :3
What a claim to fame that is .
the pads at the beginning (at least the last one at 0:08) are from a Jungle Pack from Blu Mar Ten ;) I knew I had heard the third pad before, Sonic Pad 2 - 5A
this is correct. I am sure they could be IDed by a proper head. I will dig out the sample names if I get a moment.
what was the first 3 songs shown?
is that last song sampled by ice spice?
I need your jungle music recommendations
I beg please drop the track list every song had me song intrigued
jungle is my fave forever <3
You can't do all that and not link the song
just stumbled upon your content and i love it sm already, keep it up
