- Quick talk and walk around of the newly redesigned 2022 Yamaha Zuma 125
A fully-automatic V-belt transmission and push-button electric starting make the Zuma 125 a super-convenient transportation option. Standard center and side stands, along with a locking cover on the ignition switch, make it easy and secure to park, too.

Roomy, Step-Through Ergonomics
There's room for two atop the Zuma 125's seat and lots of locking storage beneath it. The step-through floorboards making getting on and off a breeze.
Blue Core VVA Engine
Powering the Zuma 125 is a compact Yamaha Blue Core, VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) 125cc 4-stroke engine with 4 valves, a 11.2:1 compression ratio, DiASil cylinder and aluminum alloy forged piston, giving this scooter modern reliability and economical performance. With an amazing 101 mpg* and a 1.6 gallon fuel tank, you get plenty of range, too.
Rugged and Adjustable Headlights
The Zuma 125 features a new rugged asymmetric headlight design with easily adjustable beams to optimize view angles for a wide range of riders.

I rode my Zuma 125 1209 miles through 5 states in 32hrs last year. It was overloaded and got 56 mpg. It was awesome!
56 mpg? In the oficcial page says 101 mpg :(
@@peterfuentes8133 I ran it wide open with about 50lbs of extra gear and I’m 230lbs. Book says 89mpg and that’s probably right if you weigh 120lbs around town, no gear and going 25 mph max. One hill I maxed out at 22mph with some crazy headwinds. No matter what mileage I get I had a blast and I can’t wait to do it again😃
@@opichocal I'm pushing 240 with clothes on alone, without the extra gear (I'm fat lol). I also live on a highway that connects to I-5, so I may need to look at a more powerful model if I want to drive North and see my family 100 miles away.
@@peterfuentes8133 I mean you can hit that but you gotta be light and probably stay around 20-30mph to exceed that
@@Vladpryde Suzuki Burgman 125cc scooter is a brilliant bike, will happily cruse at 60mph all day without any fuss and will easily return 100mpg
I just realized Yamaha put out a new Zuma 125, yours is the first video Ive come across on it. Im looking for a delivery scooter and this is looking pretty good.
This would be a great scooter for that, you could attach a large top box to the back and anything smaller you can fit under the seat. I used it to get and drop off my mail many times. It’s a very handy machine.
Did you get it
Did you get it¿
They are not awkward, best lights ever!
That front storage looks like a great place to sit 👍
I always liked the Zuma and the c3 remember that scooter with awesome storage under the seat!!
Thank god someone actually reviewing the new Zuma! Yamaha did a terrible job of marketing it but I want one bad
I just put 225 miles on my brand new 2023 Zuma 125 and it's great. My 4th Zuma. They are so reliable and quick. I'm still breaking the new one in so that's no fun but the engine will last longer.
I bought a 2023 Zuma 125cc..Awesome Scooter
Thanks for the great video. Looking at this bike for its utility and mpg. Good scooter for preppers next time gas prices go sky high like right now. Every home needs one vehicle that gets 100 mpg these days.
I thought that front rack was to hold a car seat at first. Good thing I had the volume up! Great Video!
Lol!
Maybe in the 80s that could fly. Definitely not now 🤣
Radical design and I love it.
I want one, had the last generation and big fun! I have a Ducati if I want the speed but sometimes I just wanna hop on and grab a beer without a car or go to the store
I bought one and LOVE it! I also have a Burgman 650. But this baby for around town is terrific!
Same here!
You guys didn’t want the burg200? Comparing that and this Zuma now..
@@Lomez07734 It seems the Burg 200 beats the Zuma in just about everything except price and maybe looks…well I guess looks are what it’s all about these days
@@mig50cc
The 200 Burgman is great except for the high price, but smoother ride with its longer wheelbase and a little more power.
@@Lomez07734I found a killer deal on my 2013 Burgman 650….$3000
The 200 is fine but I needed something faster. 2 up Ive topped it out at 110mph
Nice review. Thanks for posting!

Coming from a ruckus the power and storage are my favorite parts
I Got a 2013 zuma 125 and i still love it, I ride it every summer, I Whip around town on my scooter and Love it, I save on gas from driving my pick up truck , and I Can still do all of my errands. yeah I Had the yamaha R6, the honda 750, and a few others, but this scooter is way more fun,
Agree 💯
Dude I have owned 3 Zumas and my 2023 is being delivered next week. When the weather is nice I ride out in the country with no particular destination.... just such a fun ride!
I recently looked and sat on the Honda 150 ADV + PCX and Zuma125 for replacement of my 1987 Honda 150 Elite. My scooter is used primarily at the drag strip to get around and I’m on and off the scooter frequently in the days event. With only 4400 miles on the odometer, it’s logged well over 100,000 miles strapped to a race car trailer floor in the 19 yrs I’ve owned it.
I purchased the 2023 Zuma 125 in Matt Black. Here’s why. It’s easier/ faster to get on off with the floorboard opening across the center of the scooter. The smaller cc motor works well for 35- 40 mph and under. Same with this scooters limited suspension travel. I love the gnarly look of the front fender and headlight assembly. For me, the limited finished bodywork is less susceptible to damage when loaded/ing in my trailer. The CBS is excellent and negates the need for ABS. This newer model is water cooled 11.2-1 4v engine vs the older 10- 1 air cooled. Paid $4300 + tax and state license fee.
If I was mostly street and 55-60 mph highway use, I’d pick the ADV 150. More refined with longer suspension travel (F- 5.1” / R- 4.0”) and larger diameter tires. More powerful engine and ABS. I watched the MotorCyclist on road ride when first released at Honda and that made the ADV my choice.

I have just put a down payment on a 2023 125cc Zuma. Been riding a 2018 125 Zuma since I bought it new. Can I expect about the same power? Mine is not water cooled but man it's fast as far as from a stop getting up to about 55 or a little faster I really hope I can get the same performance with the '23 model. I also chose the black. It's going to be delivered about a week from now. I gave them Dunlop street tires to install instead of the stock trail/road tires because I don't ride off-road. I'm going to keep the ones they take off because I don't know how long the street tires will last they are much softer for grip and that way I will have a spare set of tires. Got 11,000 miles on my 2018 and it runs just like the day I bought it. But now it needs tires, brakes and some other maintenance items so instead of spending $500 for service I am getting a new one. I like the new look and I want to see if the liquid cooling makes a difference. Should extend engine life if nothing else.
Very Cool only Negative would be riding on a Rainy and Snowing Weather
Iv had it in a pretty heavy rain it did surprisingly well. It comes with a more off road looking tire so it moves the water pretty good. I have not tried it in the snow.
Got that six pack holder up front nice
Exactly!!
dood. go live in Vietnam for a few years... live the way of the scooter. You'll love it.
😍😍😍😍...Hermosa!!
Excellent!
I got a ruckus and love the loud turn signal indicator because it reminds me turn them off
Yamaha should launch this in India especially considering the road conditions in rural areas and towns
Most Excellent!
Very nice . Best demo ever . Thank you thank you thank you . If you were a salesman you could sell the Chinese supercomputers . My man Watson .
My favorite scooter.. Sad to say not yet in Phillipines 😔
that "purse holder" is great for holding grocery bags too
Definitely!
That's what I was thinking.
It's fuel injected, no need to warm up. The center stand is helpful in many ways, not for "warming up"...
Yeah that's a huge plus because the cheap scooters always have carburetor problems because of the fuel additives don't burn clean they gunk up the carburetors. My local gas station has non-ethanol gas and I use it even though It's not really necessary with fuel injection.
Cuando llega a México la versión todo terreno
Purse holder and grocery bag as well❤
Хорошая игрушка 👍
Just excited that the rear rack is standard now! The value is great for the money! Even then if you are digging the style but want to save a few dollars check out the Lance Cabo 200i, bigger engine and its more affordable!
Yes owned one. Gas tank is smaller. Doest come with a USB port for charging. The warranty is longer tho. 2 years instead of 1. But they both go about the same speed.
...where is the Cabo made?
Sym
The front storage is probably for a wind jacket or scooter cover.
Great scooter! I have one question: Does the OEM rear rack really have the 110lb load limit?
I hope Yamaha bring this bike to Europe, we have the nmax or delight.
Saya harap bisa masuk ke Indonesia
does it have apple carplay?
I have a 2009 Zuma 125 nd they call it a bug eye. The 2022 looks like a crazy bird from the front lol.
Omg I want
i have a '19 and it's awesome. x-tra keys can't be made as the unlock deal issued keys only. i added highway foot rest bars, yammie windscreen, luggage rack and saddle bags. i like the '19 style seat better as 1 can push back easier as needed vs the saddle dip. why the quick resale as like in returns, wrong size, defective, didn't mean to buy.......
I bought it for my girlfriend and she decided she like being a passenger better. I rode it around but decided that the spot in the garage was better taken up by a dirt bike or track bike.

is this still available?
4:07 111 LBS LOAD LIMIT FOR THE REAR RACK?
So the brake lever operates front and rear at all times? That seems sketchy in the rain or loose surfaces.
Only the left lever operates both breaks the right operates the rear only. It does have abs as well
Correct me if I’m wrong but the 2022 zuma does not have abs and the right side brake does not operate the rear brake only it operates the front brake only
75 pct rear, 25 pct front.
Hey quick question, what's your average topspeed/ typical cruising speed. Not redline, though that'd be neat to know aswell
It’s very comfortable at 45mph but with a lighter rider it will go 58-60 Iv had it to 55mph but that is kinda red line
@@wadeonwheels I'm 208-210 so I figure I might be pushing it. I see that scoots can be modified but I'd like to wait till a warranty is expired lol
@@aaroncarter4458 I’m the same weight so it would be pretty similar. I also have a Honda grom and the zuma is faster at top speed but the grom is much easier to upgrade to a bigger bore kit
I’m looking to purchase one for going to work im 16 so its a lot cheaper than a car. You think it would be comfortable at 50 mph? I weigh 170 lbs
Mine tops out at 63 mph.
Compared to a Ruckus, that 58 mph is actually not to bad. Especially when you encounter those idiots who do 50 on city streets you can do their speed
Far better than an antiquated 50cc Rukus. And way cheaper than a "big" rukus.
My thoughts exactly. The rucks are great but they are soooo slow.
Im glad you decided for the original yamaha Zuma and not for a crappy chinese knock off!!
Great little bike for every day use.
for Xi-nese crap buy any E-bike. Pure garbage
I wish they had launched in India 😥

Hello brother, what is the price in the USA? in mexico has not yet arrived greetings! new subscriber
I believe it was around $4600 out the door with taxes and fees MSRP is at $3699
I m from Quebec. Canada. My english is soso.
Do you have a other video?. with comment sice do you have yours.
I but one in december. But i can usé it before april.
i have already sold this bike so unfortunately I do not have anymore videos of it
Thanks for the nice video.. Just curious why you're selling it already.. Be nice to if you could let us know.. (be honest).. Thank you.,
No problem! Reason for selling was simply to buy a dirt bike. I bought a KLX300R and had to make room in the garage. I originally bought the zuma for my girlfriend, after riding for a season she decided she rather be a passenger. I already have a 2022 Honda grom so I didn’t need another small displacement vehicle. I loved the zuma 125 but it’s in Florida now enjoying its life.
@@wadeonwheels Thanks Wade for answering my question.. Good luck and have fun on your dirt bike.. I have an older 2009 50cc Zuma and love it.. A good shock absorbing ride is super important for me.. My old Zuma is getting old but the ride is nice due to its bigger fatter tires and some nice seat padding. Yamaha redesigned the Zuma 50cc in about 2012.. Thinner tires, less padded seat, suspension not as good.. I felt the whole bike was not as good as my old two stroke 2009 Zuma. I was looking at the 125cc Zuma 2022 and it looks nice but I think you said the suspension was so-so.. I noticed the tires looked a bit skinny. Like a said I have to nice smooth suspension/ride. Maybe I can try to find one and ride it to see if the suspension is good enough for me.. Thanks again for your help.. and best of luck and good health to you..
Besides that key blocker, are there any other anti theft features?
Not that I saw that comes factory but plenty of space to add a gps under the seat and has disk breaks so a rotor lock will work as well
No I don’t believe so.
Steering lock.
I wish they made a Zumba 300..
They might make a big bore kit for it.
Does it have abs on the front? It has the sensor disk but yamaha doesn’t list it in the specs.
yes it does have abs
@@wadeonwheels I wish I could get the straight scoop on antilock brakes. You’d think Yamaha would list it in the owners manual, it doesn’t and my dealer claims it’s not available on US models but I’ve read articles claiming it does. I know it’s a requirement on European bikes so maybe I’m seeing reviews from across the pond. Thanks for taking time to respond to my question.
It doesn’t. It has CBS.
@@Lomez07734 thanks, I finally also concluded it unfortunately doesn’t and purchased a ADV150 for my wife. I just want to make sure if she’s out on a scooter she’s got the safest unit I could afford.
How much is it?
How tall are you? I’m 6’4 ho would I fit?
I’m 6’1 and it was kinda tight. For you it might be a bit small. I definitely suggest trying to go sit on one when you can.
Yo quiero conprar una y no ce Donde la vende si arguien me puede ayudar pls
How did it do on hills?
depending on the hill, big hills you probably wont hit top speed but it has good torque so I'm sure it will power up it.
Does this thing have cold A/C and hot air?
Yes AC is opening your visor. Heat is putting on a jacket
I like how Yamaha scooters put the gas tank up front for better weight distribution and filling convience.
I wish they would sell the 125 Filano and 125 Qbix in the USA.
The only issue I have with the gas tank is if you read the specs they always claim it holds 1.6 or 1.7 gallons. I can only fit a gallon in mine.
Do you see v-va appear when you ride?
It was bought for the girlfriend so I mean kinda 😂
These last long time like honda
yes very reliable
Take Off🙃
Dlaczego w Polsce nie do kupienia ??
nie jestem pewien, może to tylko dla Ameryki.
SIT on the bike and show us so we can judge how well WE might fit on it. Driving around looking at scenery doesn't tell us much.
That’s a good idea if I didn’t sell it over a year ago, I’ll keep that in mind tho for future reference.
where is this Zuma made?
Are you asking where the manufacturer is from or literally where the zuma is built ?
Yamaha is a Japanese company but Iv found things saying it was manufactured in Taiwan. Honestly hard to say. But still a great machine
I don't like the combined breaking that they put it, they do that bullshit on a lot of 🛵 I have an 09 that I've ridden since it was brand new have over 8,000 MI and I only use the front brake rarely do you need the rear brake because that 🛵 is so stable if you do use the front & rear brake I bet you from 45mph-0 it stops as fast as a cbr1000rr lol & that's on the 09 model with drum brakes in the rear + a smaller disk in the front 😂 didn't need disc brakes on the rear nor bigger rotors or combine breaking... But if you're a rookie I guess that's 🆒.. my 🛵 still runs totally perfect & I've driven it like a hooligan & no problems at all! + them original big ass lights look retro AF... nice 🛵 enjoy riding it Man
It would be pretty easy to disconnect that
Nice scoot. Are you sure it has ABS? Ever felt it kick in?
yes i have tested it, it works but you generally stop pretty quick. so chance of it kicking in are slim ,like i had to go full death grip and almost stoppie for it to release
That's weird. It doesn't mention on the yamaha website, (they only claim Combined rear) nor does it have an ABS light that comes on the dash as every other vehicle with ABS does. @@wadeonwheels
@@KF1 if you look at the front rotor it’s has the ABS device on it, the breaking system is linked, I’m not a fan of that but I do understand why they did it.
@@wadeonwheels Yeah.
I heard in a different video that front ring was actually the speed sensor, but you're right it looks exactly like an ABS ring. Hence the confusion.
Either way, nice scooter. Sorry your gf didn't want to keep riding it.
Thanks for the video. I might pick one up as we have a lot of 50mph roads here.
@@KF1 no worries happy to help, and she just wanted to be a passenger princess.
Good luck with your purchase, I’d also suggest looking into a grom they are a blast on the slower roads.

Wow first-ever for this model being reviewed by individual. It's barely out of the marketplace and it seems you're selling it already how can somebody get tired of Us scooter that cost in Canada anyway close to $6,000 I would like to hear how it climbs Hills and a few other things
Well it won’t be sold in vain because I’m buying a dirt bike now. I bought it for my girlfriend and she rode it for a summer and decided she rather be a passenger. I enjoyed it but I have a Grom too. Iv climbed some decent hills with the zuma on and off road. I rode it quite a bit so any questions I can try to answer.
What’s the actual Top speed Of this Zuma
Depends on weight but it’s faster then my stock grom at top speed it’s around 60mph
These use the same engine as the nmax and xmax 125 sold in the uk,
Does it wheelie?
shit anything will wheelie if you try hard enough
Why you selling the scoot?
needed to free up some cash to get a dirt dike, also bought this scooter for my girlfriend and she said she just rather be a passenger.
😂
I weigh 298 would riding this 15 miles a day be to much for this
No not at all. I rode this thing with two people on it fully loaded easily over 300 and it did great.
Just put a $500 deposit on a 2023 125cc Zuma. I bought some street tires and I am going to have the dealership install them. They are Dunlop street tires and they are directional. I'm keeping the new tires to put on my current Zuma that I will be selling after I take delivery of the 2023 model. This will be my 4th Yamaha Zuma. Had a 2005 50cc, a 2014 125cc a 2018 which is going up for sale once the 2023 is delivered. I put 39,000 miles on it and it runs just like the day I bought it. If you keep up with your oil changes and other services such as air filter and fuel filter etc. The Zuma will last forever. I would love to hear from anyone else who has put high mileage on a Zuma I feel like you could probably get 60-70,000 miles on the 125cc model. They are motorcycle quality not $800 Chinese that lasts 6 months if you are lucky.

LOL, I think 200 is normal weight. But I'm 6'2" and so are most of my friends. Anything less is featherweight.😄
Lmfao well that just shows how times change because I’m at 220 now 😅 glad I’m in good company.
actually, that hook is for grocery bags.
Anything that could be hook definitely...wkwkkwk
I have had a few older Zuma 125s… God I cant stand the new headlights… I want to take a bat to them. The front is the ugliest ever! I prefer the previous headlight design to this.
It's a funny thing..because the new lights are actually why I like this particular model over past model, it's a kinda like it's so ugly it's cool!!
thought I was going to buy one of these until I went to the dealer to check one out. OMG they are the Harley Davidsons of the scooter world. HEAVY, quite expensive tanks almost 300 lbs.....for a freaking scooter????? and $5k OTD. I love Yamaha but no thanks. Hey Honda!!!!!!
The Hondas are more lol. The ADV is almost 6k out the door.

Yuk. I’ll stick to my 2013 model
Can I have one 4 free
I think they copied honda killswitch feature on thr side stand
I don't think so, the automatic kill switch on kickstands is very common its a safety feature so you can not ride with the kickstand down. only reason its an automatic off is because it has no neutral, so its always in gear. you don't notice it on other motorcycles because you typically put the bike it neutral before turning it off. its like saying Ford copied Chevy on their seatbelts.
@@wadeonwheels so you meant that yamaha was the first made this concept for their bikes?
Joseph Ramos not saying anyone stole it from anyone. It’s a safety feature that is one 90% of all bikes in existence. So did Suzuki steal it from Honda too?
@@wadeonwheels perhaps i need to research about who's motorcycle company pioneered this concept.
I cant even think of a scooter that doesn't have that .
Ouch, it is so ugly it is hurting my eyeballs. Mechanically, perfect for short commutes.

Kapan bisa dijual di Indonesia. What's the fuck s
I got chased by some lady for almost running me over (almost died cause she was in a hurry) & I smashed her window & took off the lady was a tweaker chasing me thru a neighborhood I was out running her on my Zuma she tried so hard to run me over but I was dipping out I had to go thru some half-ass HUGE dip intersection praying there was no cars coming she did the same thing & ripped off her front bumper and then ran it over 😂😂😂 I even had to jump a flat curb that was like 5-6 inches high at like 10-15 mph & the bike didn't even hesitate no cracked rims flat tires or anything! I don't know if that was half of Yamaha build quality or God just helping me in that situation I believe in divine intervention from the BIG MAN upstairs cuz it was unbelievable!
I got hit from the back on my 2023 zuma i got M license + motorcycle safety school insurance includes I got hit by rushing driver at red light stop he was truck the first things the scooter got twisted little bit mean any little choc or big choc the scooter chassis easy will got twisted not like cars which have bumpers that absorb shocks motorcycle or scooter forgot it for any chocks even small the chassis got damaged which means that the motorcycle is no longer usable
Honestly i like the look of my 2021 but i wish i had the usb port . But other than that my 2021 looks better to me and with gas at 6 bucks a gallon, i can still go to work and collect a paycheck that doesn’t go all into a gas tank lmfao! Lets go Brandon!!
thats unusual to c muricans on scooters
no
Not entirely, they’re just not as popular as other bikes. It really depends on where you are. In big cities and beach towns, they’re everywhere…
Nothing about the price, Nothing about the rear brakes, Nothing about how well the headlight is, Nothing about the engine, nothing about oil and oil filter change, common big boy, you can do better.
Wow 2022 and we’re still using halogen bulbs 💡 like cmon
Scooters are more popular in areas where halogen bulbs are still used regularly. Most interest in scooters comes from Middle East and Asian countries. They are the biggest market for low cc bikes/scooters
@@wadeonwheels yep these cute little scooters are literally everywhere in Asia
and some people even heavily modded these scooters and make them ridiculously fast lol

Man they really uglied that scooter up. 😕
I don’t disagree, but it’s very functional
Your roads are horrible…🧐🧐🧐
You are not wrong. Our roads suck, but that wasn’t actually our roads, that was just subdivision roads and they are doing construction so no point fixing the road when the machines are just going to mess it all up again.

It's junk. I had a 2012 Zuma 125. It would have been an ok scooter IF it had been carbureted, and IF it would have had 2 valves. But it didn't, and for those reasons and no leg room I got rid of it quickly and replaced it with a carbureted 2 valve SYM HD200, which was a lot faster, a lot roomier, and didn't have the garbage technology of the Zuma 125 (before I got the Zuma 125 I put 36,000 miles on a carbureted 2 valve Vino 125 with no problems at all) But this thing is far worse than that 2012 Zuma 125. First, it is UGLEEEEE. It not only has EFI and 4 valves, but it has ABS and VVT. It is going to be very unreliable, and impossible to work on. I wonder what a valve adjustment costs. And with all that trash on it, it is no faster than a carbureted 2 valve 2008 Vino 125. You couldn't sell me one of these abominations for half price. Does anybody really ride around with the storage compartment empty just so they can put their helmet in there? Combined brake system? Just how bad does this thing get?
I have a 2023 model and love it, I sometimes take mine on long rides to appoints several towns away on back roads with a 50 MPH speed limit, as luck would have, I am retired and never have to be in a hurry and cand take my time getting there and can pull over to the shoulder of the road and let faster vehicles pass me.
The technology used in my Zuma is perfect for my every day use, it does not need big bore kits and loud exaust kits to make a bunch of noise to attract cops and I dont need to draw attention to me everywhere I go, I outgrew that crap about 45 years ago. The bike was built to be quiet and slow so I will leave mine the way the factory built it, I dont need to impress anybodt anymore. All in all, the Yamaha Zuma 125 is perfect the way it was made and I love mine and my Wife loves her 2010 model too and yall just need to chill out with bashing a good thing and enjoy the ride, thats what its all about, the wind in your fase and enjoy the freedom a bike gives you......Peace out and keep the rubber side down!
If you thought it was ugly, then why did you buy one? Or did you…
Sorry, but one must realize that there are people who financially benefit from going around and leaving such comments, in case you were unaware. I’m not saying that’s you, but it could be.
🤷♂️
@@jackjohnson291 I bought a new 2012 Zuma 125, which I did not consider ugly, but it just didn't work out for a number out for a number of reasons I didn't know about until I had ridden it for a while.. But I wouldn't even consider the 2022 model. Not only is it hideously ugly (IMO) but it has way too much trash technology for me. I now have a carbureted 2006 Vespa GT200, which I bought 6 years ago in almost new condition with 1800 miles on it. So far I am completely satisfied with that.
Computer controlled fuel injection has been around for a very long time and has been proven to be very reliable.
Are you trolling? 4-stroke with fuel injection is worlds better than a 2 -stroke mosquito buzzing smoke machine. And no, the 2022+ models do Not have ABS, though it would be cool if it did.
