    That Swiss alloy for bell bronze really gives it that "music box" articulation and brilliance!

    You are of course right, but it is also fair to say that the banjo is an American instrument as it was recreated by African slaves in America and the Caribbean as an imitation of those original instruments and has since developed independently of them.
