Should you be mining BITCOIN? How to ACTUALLY mine Bitcoin in 2022 (the cheapest way)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 30 июн 2024
- In this video I show you how to mine Bitcoin in 2022. We do this with the Gekkoscience Compac F Bitcoin USB miners, which is the cheapest way to mine Bitcoin in 2022. These small USB miners use the same mining chips found in real Antminer Bitcoin ASICs, and can mine Bitcoin when plugged into a PC. I show you where to buy them and how to set them up to mine Bitcoin. But how much money can you make mining Bitcoin in 2022? I also show you the mining profits for the USB miners, both short term and I also calculate how profitable Bitcoin mining is long term. Since these USB sticks mine Bitcoin, they will not be affected by Ethereums move to proof of stake. So mining Bitcoin on the Gekkoscience Compac F will be just as profitable after ETH 2.0. I also discuss solo mining on USB miners and how much you money you can make if you hit a block mining Bitcoin.

i take it your just going to keep them on solo mine.
@@jediknight2350 yeah to me that’s more fun 👍
I mine BTC on 3070 founders nicehash $2.70 per day per card.
Hi, my name is Lola.
After watching your RUclips video, I really appreciate your point of view.
I am one of the person in charge of the company's brand operation and promotion.
May I ask you to communicate with us to promote our cloud mining platform?
Looking forward to your reply.

I have 0 interest in trying this, but it seemed interesting. As soon as you start your presentation, I'm hooked! Keep doing what your doing, Seb. The information and education you bring to the community is invaluable.
*Quickly hit me up⬆⬆⬆⬆for more information*
Sebby you forgot the halving cycle of block rewards. So it’s not just the increase in overall hash rate. Not worth it at all, but 100% sill fun! You’ve taught me so much so glad I finally had something to contribute back to you.
You’re awesome, keep being you!
Ah dang it you are right! 😅 Thanks for pointing that out. I thought I had everything covered with the network hashrate increase and the rising power costs!
Came to say this! Glad someone pointed it out lol.
Thanks for the video. Because of you I started minings to reinvest my solarpower.
My first rig for now runs at 650 watts at 135 Mh/s only by watching your overclocking videos.
Thanks again!
I mined with USB miners in 2014. I appreciate the accurate/realistic review.
Please inform me haw i am pruchaese
Awesome video Seb!!! Thanks!
Excellent analysis, thanks!
Such an awesome video .... love it. In calculating the ROI, did you include the original cost of the full kit? Thanks.
Love the video Seb!
Thank you for all your knowledge, let's hope we all find a decent coin to mine after ETH 2.0 🙏🙌
Great video thanks!👍
Another fun video. I've looked at these before however couldn't bring my self to pull the trigger on them. I hope this video helps set appropriate expectations for people when they are looking at getting into mining and come across these devices.
Hey Sebs, your videos are extremely amazing! I learnt so much and am grateful for the knowledge you put out in the mining community... keep up the great work.
I have a question. Hoping if anyone can help or you may do a video on this.
My rig is located in a hot country and my 3090 card is running hot without Aircon,
I was wondering is there anyway we could program or type a code, if gpu temp hits 98 degrees then the megahash rate will go to 110 megahash (currently I'm getting 121 megahash with AC on) even if gpu vram temp hits 98 at 110 megahash, then the code will lower it down to maybe 100 till it gets 96 degrees. I hope I made sense, what you think? Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it
I used to be doing this back in 2012 (ASICs on USB) but then moved into cloud mining.
Makes me want to dig them out though as already have a pretty grunty solar system but I don't think they will have the same #rate as the newer bitmerch ones so will check them out.
Thanks for another great and reminiscent video for me :)
Which cloud mining site you are using?
What cloud mining do you use?
What cloud mining ?
Great Video!
good realistic breakdown!
Ha, funny enough, I have one of these and had the same idea of doing a little solar rig. Looking forward to that video :D.
Thanks for making another great video! I'm glad I subscribed. Your logical approach makes it easy for me to follow your thinking. FWIW, I think this device is VERY cool to ponder (even if it doesn't seem like a big money maker at the moment.) It would be interesting to see how these little USB miners are made and exactly why they end up as a USB stick.
Good analogy
Very nice video - thanks Seb! Tried to buy a USB miner from Bitcoinmech within the hour after your posting. All kinds all sold out! To bad ... Keep those video coming!
I don’t think they have been put up yet, check again in a little while! 👍
Hi Sebs...what about cloud mining "solo" with nicehash or mining rig rentals ?
I am extremely interested in your bitcoin ideas and I will be following closely
I'm totally green and looking into this as a hobby to make some crypto coin. However, the learning curve combined with costs seem to make it best to simply buy some.
I have solar but not good internet. What type of internet is needed in terms of speed and consumption?
Looks like fun to me! Was thinking of trying with just one miner to save money.
Great Video Sebs🤘, I Just bought Asus Tuf 3070 Ti, using Lol Miner in HiveOs, Max hashrate giving only 40mhs.... Please share right OC for Asus TUf 3070ti.... Thanks
Really cool how small it is, but with those returns youd be better off taking your money and putting it in an S&P 500 index fund
Nice video, good shit.
Hey seb, can you show us how you connect one of these to you rig?
This thing at least cost about 248$ this is crazy enough and you get about 200$ after 10 years😐do i calculate right? It's not good even for fun as you said 🤣😐
Maybe solo mine🤔 anyway i enjoyed this video like always.
Keep it going 🧡
Very cool stuff Seb, you have helped me out so much with building my GPU mining farm. I am up to 70 3000 series cards now. Wishing you all the best from Australia.
You should use, imho, at least one back to back because the 2nd will take air from back of the 1st, a bit hoter, then and the 3rd from the result of both 1st and 2nd.
Cheers !
Whats really cool about these is they knock down the barrier to entry and enable more distribution of the network among more common people. I want to see more products like this, but even more efficient and accessible.
Yes 100% I agree!
It would be interesting, if you can use it with an already running hive system (gpu mining rig)
Let the fun…BEGIN! 😊
For me it would be even more fun, if it allowed me to assemble the miner myself. Yes, i am odd like that. 😅
So exciting to mess around with these things. 🤘🏼
Thanks for the video, Sebs, was entertaining. Looks cool, fun project if you dont plan to make any money; at $250/stick will take forever to ROI. Maybe if it goes down to $50, I will throw some cash at it for fun. I am pretty sure solar panel and battery will not last for more than 20 years.
Interesting device. Really cool.
1. In 10 years a lot of things can break down and increase the cost. I think the fan would go down first🤣
2. How's the profitability in short term with say 50 to 100 pieces of the usb miner?
As Eth merge is coming, I am actually considering getting an ASIC miner as a backup to my GPU rigs. Any suggestions on a profitable miner at low cost of entry?
Whats the site Seb your using to caluculate profitability please?
Its more relevant to buy btc for the price of the parts instead of trying to mine as much as possible. By buying and holding it you remove btc from circulation creating scarcity making the price go up. Thats a cool little thing but its not efficient in anyway.
You can buy 0.02 btc with cost of one kit which is more than what it can mine in entire lifespan with no hassle and no problem:/it doesn't make sense at allll.
Then you can stick to the btc and gain from the price increase
@@mahmoudiamir thats pretty much what ive said…
What are the odds with lotto on these and how many could the tiny computer run at max.. just the 3 or a few bro?. I have inverter panel and batery.. all in shed collecting dust cant wait to see what to do with em..
I actually don’t know how many you can run but definitely more than three.
RIP. 6 mins in and they are completely sold out. Lol. Thanks for the informative video!!
They are not up yet! Check again soon! :)
@@SebsFinTechChannel Thanks for the quick reply!! I'll keep checking!
Still showing no stock. Either it's not up yet, or I missed it and that's that. Bummer.
Very cool devices. What do they sound like? Those small fans they sell to attach to them look quite loud.
They are actually pretty quiet. I couldn’t hear the fans in my mining room so they are quieter than GPUs.
friend I don't have money to buy equipment. What is the best cloud miner? for me to be able to use
Hi Sebs, wondering if you mind to do a 1 month mining update to this video?
Damn ,my dad told me something about btc minig with sticks around 7 or 8 years ago
Yeah this is definitely interesting but I think the odds to hit a solo block are slim to none you probably have a better chance of meeting God LOL. Good stuff brotha!!
"You have a better chance of meeting God" sounds like a threat an 80s mafia guy would make 😂 Thanks for stopping by mate, appreciate you!
@@SebsFinTechChannel bahahahaha 🤣🤣🤣
Was a great video tho!
Use a buck converter for the solar setup instead of an inverter. Even just car usb chargers are fine. They are way more efficient.
Ooh good idea! Thanks!
You can make more cloud mining with Ember on your phone and the app is free.
its like winning in the lottery to hit a block. Raspberry Pi roxor :)
Still new to this but even in 10 years you didnt hit the pool threshold.. what did I miss?
One question does the USB miner works with Windows?
Ur awsome
:D Thanks for watching and being so early to the video!
I am interested in selling to my bitcoin I just visited their website and it still says sold out is there any special way for us to purchase one of these?
That is so cool! Thanks for sharing that with us, Seb! Can’t wait to see the solar project powering little USB sticks…
Going to be a fun project for sure :) Not the most profitable but I’ll have fun learning while doing it
I wonder if you can still use your video card to mine a different coin and still get out in btc on 2miners
yes, you can
This chip will not work for several years. These chips are most likely taken out of obsolete ASICs, i.e. most likely these are already used chips.
I forgot to buy the Rasberry Pi. Can I set up the usb miner from my own desktop/laptop, with Windows 11?
Theres any alternative to buy this ? if they dont have it?
the expected hashrate on these things is no where near what they actually do make. I can usually find these sticks for around a 100 bucks a piece however these are great for mining solo in hopes to hit a block but def no way near usable to perhaps ROI. Still very cool devices and true lottery gadgets as its all a luck game.
Interesting especially if you have power limitations. What about thermals and noise? Curious how much heat they put out.
Since the whole thing only consumes 44W, it's not a lot of heat. Barely any actually. As for noise, I couldn't hear them in my mining room, so they are quieter than GPUs.
very cool
how many watts does the USB stick take? i want one of theese to add on my mining rig but if it take more than 10 watts its not worth it.
It’s about 14 watts per stick including the fan so a bit more than your limit then
Purely a fun thing only profit shouldn't even be a factor. Take the same money you'd spend on these miners buy BTC spot and hold for 10 years you'll have made a hell of a lot more money.
its possible to hit one BTC alone with one of those ?
I think I'd go with the "lottery ticket" method as the hardware investment seems reasonable when we're talking about decades of time. If you used this proposed setup with the solar power from day one, would solo mining be more profitable? Just one block hit in 10 years seems to be greater profit over pool mining I'd guess. Anyone with working knowledge of game theory or forecasting care to chime in re: how many solo blocks (if any) might one find with Seb's proposed rig over 10 years?
This is exactly the stuff I wanna look into for my video on setting this up solo mining. :D
@@SebsFinTechChannel Honestly all of this is a very interesting proposal considering it's initial scale, scalability, and duration across time. Might have to include forcasting difficulty over a decade as well. So many interesting variables...
super interesting stuff here but the ROI on this its just way to long and as u mentioned as difficulty increases u are making less.
I saw that mining usb or something like this years ago.
When it was cheap
Hi Seb I am Johnson from India . I am very interested about your contant pretty cool explanation . I need to meet you and learn something about .Can I ? Plz just reply .thank you ?
What are the possible on solo mining ?
Should take in account the powercosts of today in Europe as this is now EUR.0.34 kW/h in the Netherlands and it is even higher in Noeway. This is more or less the same across Europe.
I live in Europe and I pay $0.10 per kWh. If you struggle with high power cost I recommend you check out my video on solar panels and how profitable it can be to get a solar setup for mining: ruclips.net/video/jgg65Bc8I7I/видео.html Good luck! :)
Can this be use to mine BCH?
Its like buying a perpetual lottery ticket. If you can mine solo -no pool mining- you have a 0.0001% chance of hitting a block.
hey seb great content as usual, can this be used in uk?
Great video, I agree it's cool. But not worth it at all. You're better off buying btc lol but still cool, kind of a novelty thing to say you're mining.
I need one and hope btc makes 1 million dollars 😂 Thanks sebs
Me too! 😂 Thanks for watching and being early to the video!
How much power do these take up ? Thanks for the video Seb !
About 14W per stick including the fan
@@SebsFinTechChannel Thank you 🙏
Does anyone know if you can set one of these up to an existing miner/pc with just the hub and usb miner or do u need the whole kit
dam as soon as i unpause the vid he covers that lol
bro for information "dose it mine monero".
good video but power consumtions are completly wrong, why the hell do you count the rasberry pi ????
I tested it again without the rasberry pi and wattage was basically the same. I think the Pi pulls maybe 1W
Why not just buy and hold if we are talking about long term?
Can it be used in India?
Pls it´s USB is 3.0?
what if we mined at zcash?? its work or not?
Is it compatible with HIVE OS?
what is the roi on two of those
How about just investing $994.99+shipping in BTC and wait?
Does this ship internationally?
Yes I believe so 👍
Nice idea but mining regular coins and getting paid in BTC and holding seems more logical? No? I do like the mining aspect but it seems like it's more logical to mine via GPU and get paid in BTC... (also, everything is sold out still) 🙃
For me personally what is the most interesting about these is the fact that you can actually solo mine Bitcoin on them and have a chance of hitting a block. I know the chance is about the same as winning the lottery, but since these in theory should be able to mine btc indefinitely it’s kind of like owning a lottery ticket that never expires.
Hii bro can anyone share overclock settings for 2060 on ethash bcoz my gpu consume 108 w
Galax 2060 hynix memory
Can you use these on other coins like eth
What about zima boards
I'm glad I got into crypto when I did because it was my financial turning point. It was my best decision so far
you could also use the 1000 USD to buy 0.02 BTC right now
Wow
Hey seb, could you test a 3060 rev 1.0 (non lhr) card and see what sorts of hashrates you can achieve?
Crazy decision..))) Antminer S9 mines 13.5 TH for the price of 300$
At 1323 Watts, Antminer S9 is only 40% energy efficient compared to these sticks. So both of them are crazy decisions unless you have free power.
Can we solar power those nano rigs?
Sure! :)
This should use something like 25W power to be profitable :O
so, I'm in the long term profitability at the end. because he is just mining it and holding it until a spike he would profit more with less hassle just buying 1000$ in bitcoin.
he will most likely lose money on hardware as the difficulty goes up and the chip can't keep up with new chips.
wouldn't it be better just to try and hit a solo lottery block in ten years of mining? the risk seems worth the cost, possible >$500k vs $1k
Yeah that’s what I’m gonna set up in my next video about these miners :)
Who the heck would care to go through all that stuff to make less than $500!? Great video though
why not just buy the coin if you think it will 2x?
Can I plug the usb miner into an existing raspi pi node?
Yes but you do need a powered usb hub 👍
@@SebsFinTechChannelall sold out for now
Super nice, hook me up with one of those
