The inspiration behind this video:
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler explains why Namor is the sequel's villain instead of a character like Doctor Doom. Marvel Studios launched the Black Panther franchise in 2018 to overwhelming success, as the first film broke box office records, won Oscars, and became a cultural phenomenon. It was eventually announced that Coogler was returning to make a sequel. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever eventually moved forward with a reshaped story built around Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Wakanda dealing with the loss of T'Challa after Chadwick Boseman's passing. The other main element of the sequel is introducing Tenoch Huerta's Namor to the MCU
Namor the Sub-Mariner is one of Marvel's oldest characters and someone comic fans have been waiting to see on the big screen for years. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever reinvented Namor by tying him to Aztec culture, resulting in his underwater kingdom of Atlantis being renamed Talocan. The MCU debut of Namor is one of the most exciting aspects of Black Panther 2, as the marketing has positioned him as a worthy antagonist for the sequel. It is confirmed that Namor is a mutant in the film, and there is an expectation that this will be the first of many appearances by Tenoch Huerta's underwater villain/anti-hero.

Chadwick's presence was strongly felt in specific parts of the film, even when he physically wasn't in it. I love the way the film went, and the overall message... but my king is Imperius Rex!

As said in this very trailer: "...Killing him, will risk eternal war!" Those words exactly reflect what has happened in our Black Panther movie community debating about recasting T'Challa.
It's so frustrating that the Chadwick fans are willing to omit T'Challa's long comic book story legacy because they're so emotionally attached to the late actor! And they blindly believe that killing off T'Challa is the best way to honor Chadwick! It's insane!

Just saw the 20/20 Special on the making of Wakanda Forever. This clip is just mind boggling. I am sure this film will do well here and beyond. It may just be a film but it looks uplifting which we all need now.

Trailer is well made...i already watched it (press release in my country)...and honestly it's not as good as this trailers make it look. Don't get me wrong it is one of the best Marvel Movies from this phase...but i think they missed so many opportunities on this one. A solid 7/10

hearing chardwick's voice made me tear up
Usually agree with most but on this one I felt that audience. Felt myself delighted by some originality relative to most other marvel movies. And Shuris performance was so moving and to be able to carry a movie set up around another actor is insane pressure. I think we needed to see how she learned how to fight that well. Where she got her training. More of their world and it's abilities. The fact that she survived the stab was laughable for sure. But better than a lot of recent marvel garbage. New Iron Man actress was really funny (though the suit was not the best) and so was Angela Basset. The villains acting was good too and would have loved to see more of the Aztec or Mayan culture related things. Found myself along with most other in the theater pleasantly surprised though yes a lot of it was Chadwick nostalgia. Still believe Coogler is a solid writer and can do great with different materials. Though this felt wokish it wasn't as bad as the others and I thought you would mention how they did Female badasses right for once and how queens have to pick up the throne when kings die in history. Like Jhansi ki Rani's story. Anyways love your work and analysis
I was crying a lot of times in between the movie. The acting are all so good especially Angela. Can't wait to see the action of Namor again and that "little kid" in the next MCUs

Being a comic purist, I was initially salty by the way they presented Namor and thought "why the heck did they make him look like a Hispanic elf?!" but tying him to the the Mayan Serpent God, Kukulkan, made it all make sense. Aaight! I'm back on board. Should be very interesting!

@@modeep4331 marvel (and dc) always do that. they interweave different mythologies together because they're all in one universe. for example, in marvel, the great flood from the bible was caused by the celestials and is the same event that caused atlantis to sink

What I said (if you had bothered to read) was that it would be cool to have Shuri continue to use her mind more than her body.
My reasons for saying that are that Shuri wasn't at the same level as the other warrior women and to think she could develop to that degree in a few months is a bit much. T'Challa didn't reach his level of skill and experience in a single year, so why should Shuri?
I also feel that it could be interesting to have a protagonist who relies more on their mental abilities than their physical ones. Are you suggesting that she is only good if she is physically adept? Her mind doesn't matter to you?
