It feels like something is missing without stopping after every shot to face the camera and read off the results. Is it enough to make a difference? You be the judge.
CCI standard is what nearly everyone uses here on suppressed .22's. It stays subsonic on my 10/22 rifle. It always seems to be skipped in the US tests though? Is it not popular there?
It occupies a weird spot in between bulk ammo and fancy ammo. Usually I buy the huge bricks of ammo (525 rounds of Remington, 555 rounds of Winchester, or 300 rounds of CCI Minimag). When I do buy fancy ammo I'm more enticed by the Suppressor loads, or crazy fast stuff.
I have a 10" barrel Charger that I've run both (old) CCI Sniper Subsonic that I had left over (that's the stuff with a giant projectile and stubby case) and the bulk Remington standard velocity stuff. (Edit: I forgot to say this is with a suppressor) With my gun it seems like I get a supersonic crack about half the time with standard ammo. Of course the subsonic stuff is quieter, but it would be nice to find a cheap, bulk ammo that ran just under the sound barrier through my gun.
Ahoy, Hop - I'm curious as to how well the CCI .22 Quiet Semi-Auto ran off camera as a whole - sans can. I've got a stamp in for a can now, but the CCI Quiet .22 SA really intrigue me as well. Thanks in advance; you're always good about replying to my questions.
Only have 50 rounds through the Charger with Quiet SA. 5 rounds unsuppressed for the chrono test, the rest suppressed. No failures but only ran it through the rotary 10 rd. It's noticeably quieter than any other load.
@@Hoplopfheil - Yes, I've actually shot loads of the original '.22 Quiet'. About 3 yrs ago, CCI announced a semi-auto version that would run better for them. I ran the originals in a CMMG .22 conv kit, and they ran like a sonofabitch. Very few issues, but will lead up your bbl fucking HARD. I actually had to pull my gas tube and torch out a lead 'plug' that had sealed off my gas port like a brick-and-mortar wall. I've took pics, it was so bad... ...Anyway - I'm really interested in the .22 Quiet Semi-Auto version. I was able to 'procure' a single 50-rd box from Midway USA, who, bless their hearts, would not allow me to purchase any more than that ONE box. Anyway - I'll be doing some testing of my own during next weeks range day. I forgot them last week and I tried finding them locally (East Multnomah Cty) and forgettaboutit. Thanks, dude.
Ballistics by the inch has .22LR standard higher velocity 22 not gaining much past 10 inch barrels, if at all. Your mileage may vary, but 10 is the sweet spot for velocity and anything shorter will pretty much guarantee sub sonic from most ammunition.
I randomly found out you have a separate channel just as you uploaded through RUclips recommendations. Luck has smiled upon me
I found out through luck as well.
Love those little cabelas bags, especially for like $15 bucks, never thought of them for a little range bag but they make sense for that.
Thanks Hop! Just got this exact model Charger and this video helps me decide which rounds to use with my suppressor.

Brevity is... wit.
Even at 12:13 AM, I race to RUclips because hop
Long live the Hop
Love the technical vids
It's hard to beat CCI Standard Velocity...

@@Hoplopfheil Cool :) The bulk pack stuff is pretty unpopular here, so mostly we'd buy CCI/Eley?SK etc
Great video right to the point.
Old video but I agree with your conclusion: CCI Minimags without a suppressor and CCI Standard Velocity with a suppressor.
Late night hop is the best hop
Sup hops. I think its awesome that u can interchange barrels with the longer ones with these chargers
Good job Hop.
Where can I find accessories for the Ruger charger ?

Do you think you can get expansion with sub sonic hollow points with this barrel?
That’s my boyfriend

Curious about the other way. How to hot rounds do out of an 8 inch barrel?

Does cci quiet cycle?
