Going to buy a yz250f tomorrow only thing is a runs for a minute or less then shuts off. This kind of gives me an idea of the possibilities. Thank you.

Hello any way I could get tips I’m tryin to start my 2006 yz250f

Im having a issue with my 2009 yz250f starting. its got good air and fuel and spark but compression is only 60 psi. Valve clearances are all pretty good, 2 intake valves are out of spec by .03 but not bad. Even starting fluid wont get it to fire at all. Any ideas?
I had the same problem with one of my YZ builds and it ended up being the carburetor (wouldn’t start even if I put fuel in the engine). Are the valves out of spec too tight or too loose? 60 psi is not crazy low with the auto decomp and should start fine on that. My next step would be a cylinder leakage test. It will test for a bad head gasket and leakage around the valves which a compression test won’t show.
I'm so confused. Did you do a frame swap?. It's black at 7:30 and then blue at 7:50
Good eye sir. I got 2 frames with the bike. I liked the look of the blue frame better than black and it had a title so I swapped everything over. Thanks for your comment and for watching.
Just did a top end rebuild on mine. Won’t even start now.
Double check your camshaft timing.
Timing looks good maybe and I mean maybe might be one tooth off

Hey man. What if you have no compression? I just bought the bike and there’s like nothing there when I kick it. Any idea?
@@Gymhubxl If it feels like it has no compression, the first thing I would do would be a cylinder leakage test. That will tell you all you need to know. At a minimum, check your valve clearances.
Did that bike have the decompression lever like my 02yz250f ?
No, 2003 and on Yamaha went with and auto-decompression mechanism (see my video on how they work - ruclips.net/user/shorts0d2T1UTcS5A?feature=share).
You can install a 2003 YZ250F exhaust camshaft in your bike to eliminate the need for your decompression lever. Kick and go!

So just by replacing the exhaust camshaft with 03” cam deletes the Lever. Anything else to that process. I heard of hotcam. Is that the same thing. Im new to the 4stroke world. Haha.
@RCbasheracer the exhaust cam from 2003-2009 will work in your 2002 and it will eliminate the need to use the lever. It’s been a good while since I’ve done one. You can then eliminate the decomp cable from the bike. I don’t believe you need to do anything with the lever on the head. Hotcams is an aftermarket camshaft. Look on eBay for a good used oem cam. Installing it is not terribly difficult but if procedure and torque values are not adhered to, engine damage will occur.

@@restoroosterohv right on man I appreciate it, I got the shop manual for it. The bike needs alot of work, my nephew bought it and he's gone off in the army... I'm gonna see if I can get it running so we can go ride together

Es la misma moto. Cambié el marco a uno azul con un título. Buen ojo.
