There are lots of creative ways to think about directories. At first, like you, I just assumed a local business directory was the main purpose of building a directory. People underestimate the effects of AI on the SERPs.
good content man. i have been researching about this topic. i have a question about this platform. if i want to use ad publisher network to monetize, how can i add ads on this platform? how can we add or insert publisher ad code to the page like how you can position or display ads on the page? Thank you for the information
Which ad publisher network are you considering? Adsense? Unicorn Platform is block-based. So you can easily add HTML code with the HMTL block. So it might be easier than you think.
Yes. You can create the site on Unicorn Platform. You do need a paid plan to export. Currently the lowest one is $9 per month. Then you can export it and upload via FTP using a software like FileZilla. Sounds like you have an idea to launch 🚀
I don't think Unicorn Platform is pricey. It gets pricey when you have multiple projects, IMO. But keep in mind, Unicorn Platform is hosting your site - and it is coded very clean. Fast-loading. Geared for SERPs right out of the box. Anyhow, you can give it try and only pay if you want to publish it to your own domain. They have great directory templates.
Hi - When you say ‘post to your own domain’ does that mean I’d have to have a hosting company and a Wordpress website that has my domain? (Thanks, I’m new…)
@ I see. Ok. Thank you. I will check it out. Not sure if I can monetize my directory that fast to justify the expenditure. A lot of directory designers are opting for AI coded sites.
Monetization would be display ads or sponsored ranking. Neither will be fast considering you need to become popular first for either of those to be worth anything. Directories are a long game. You'll have to be willing to lose money for a while. If you get lucky with your niche if can be faster.
Why would you say that? Essentially Wordpress is just reading the content from databases. This is using Airtable or Google Sheets. For me, I find Wordpress buggy. There are so many plugins by third parties. I think this is very scalable. And repeatable. If a project becomes wildly profitable - that’s a good problem to have. And it can be fixed by hiring a coder to do custom work. So I don’t see the problem in this case.
@InvisibleCreatorTV I never said anything regarding the wordpress and I'm myself coder and also a front end developer so I think I can handle the things and for backend airtable is a good option for a small scale
I'm creating a NEW GUIDE ON BUILDING DIRECTORIES: 3.kit.com/b501336c7a
Thank you
Finally! What I’ve been looking for. Information directories. Not just your typical business listing directory. Awesome!

@ i am considering adsense but also want to try Mediavine and Ezoic too.
Is it possible to move a directory from Unicorn platform to a private hosting provider like hostgator?

It is a pricey platform but time will tell. Also, how do you monetize them fast so you don't lose money on subscription?

@@heman1320 I understand that yes. Do you have any directories of your own ?
seems like easy but as you scale this is not a viable solution!

AI will multiply the torrent of content on the internet. Directories, along with content curation will be more valuable than ever to people.
Yes, I completely agree.
You think so? I'd like to hear more.
