Great video. Thank you. I'll be retiring in the US in 2 months. I'm planning for retirement in Panama in 2025. First a 2 month tour in December 2024. The Volcan area is at the top of my list as my future home.
Great video but "WORD OF CAUTION" I am an American physician who owns a farm outside of Boquete. Please consider getting Panamanian Major Medical insurance. You can get insurance very reasonably in Panama and nobody knows what the future holds. BTW, Punta Pacifica Hospital in Panama City is great. It is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medical School in USA. I recommend going there for major health issues.Stay well!
A Super Nice Couple, Another great video Jackie, and Maybe Volcan in the future for me in 2025. Panama is a Great Choice for Retired people from the U.S.A. and a Very Easy Transaction, especially with Panama Relocations Tours.
Very nice video and beautiful location you are living in! Would you mind sharing what the cost was to ship your 900 pound pallet from Michigan to Panama (and what service you used)? Thanks!
This is a wonderful couple's story. One of the things I think PRT should ask the people that move into a certain area is about Internet service and its reliability, up and download speeds. They can answer this question just like they do the medical experience questions. Keep up the good work PRT!
Does not matter how fast the internet is if you have no power living in the countryside. Many people forget that Panama is in Central America. Power outages are very common here. Further away from the big cities like Panama City and David you will experience power outages more regularly. For hours! Longest I had to live with was 13 hours in the Las Tablas area. And if there is no power- there is no water! Yes. 1st time in my life I started to buy this big water bottles Americans are use to. And if there is no power for longer than 4 hours you lose cellphone service because the towers run on battery. If you can live with this- welcome to Panama!
@@holgermessner851 I have seen them interview people who moved to Panama prior to PRT. I remember specifically a couple in Sora who had lived there for 16 years and a couple in Volcan who had been the for 20+ years. I remember the Volcan couple because the wife was from Seattle like me.
Lovely, very informational interview! Thanks! Loved the little doggo and would like to have heard more about how you transported them. I would never let my dog be put in the cargo bay of a plane.

What was the cost to bring your goods shipped on a pallet? You said it was around 900lbs. So just curious on over all cost of this from the USA and to the boquete area and from the boquete area to Volcán?
During the video, they mentioned the bad weather in Michigan and short growing season. I'm sure being able to reduce their cost of living was a big factor too!
Also its my understanding that as long as you are under 70ish, you should be able to get an HMO plan associated with a hospital there? And i assume once you have it, they wont cancel it due to aging? Thanks for these amazeball videos
This is not completely accurate. In Panama City some hospitals offer health insurance with no age restrictions. But other hospitals do not have that a hospital specific plan. You can get health insurance in Panama. Here are some options panamarelocationtours.com/health-insurance-options-in-panama

Thank you Paul for the heads up and info, Precisely one my/our concerns!
What a pleasant couple. Really hit the main areas of questions folks would have.
We will be joining you as well there in Volcan (hopefully by years end)👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Welcome to Panama John & Victoria! If the world floods, as with Noah, Volcán is the right location. :D
What about Pompeii? ;-)
So happy for you. We are living vicariously through you for the moment. Someday, we too, will be there enjoying a similar view. ❤

Very much enjoyed this video. Volcan has grown quite a bit, I see. Seems like a quiet and comfortable location to retire. Sign me up!

I believe there is work being done on a road to connect Volcan and Boguete. Is that correct, and when will that road be completed?
