Looks like it's sailing through the mud...very cool! Since it was at full sail, the water flowing over the sails probably kept it upright so that it drove the keel into the mud when it landed...so awesome!
That is a great question! We are not entirely sure. It is surprising that it is sitting upright like this and not tilted on its side. We ran across another sailboat that was leaning on its side, as we would expect, since the keel would be below the hull and cause it to tip over. We might have to go and explore it again to try to find answers!
Thanks! We spent a lot of time and effort to design this camera system for underwater work where there is often very little light. We do not have to drop the resolution or frame rate to get these images. This video was recorded at 1080p 60fps natively.
Since we do not know under what circumstances the boat ended up on the bottom, we wanted to share what we found while respecting the privacy of the owner.
