- We made an enclosed dog bed for Layla! It's a simple and modern take on a tiny dog house that houses her food bowls and even has a LED light to brighten up the space.
This dog bed only uses about half a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood and takes only a weekend to build.

Layla is one lucky dog because her parents love her very much! Beautiful little bed..
Love the design! Looks like Layla is warming up to hit quickly!
Thanks Ethan! Yup we think she likes it a little bit haha
Definitely wipe the glue whilst it's wet for me! Then sand if necessary. Lovely design, Layla looks so cute in it :)
Thanks Melody! We like the wipe when wet approach too 🙂. Layla says "arf arf" 😅🐶
@@IMEEMADE 😃👋🐶
Nice design
Thanks!
Cute little project
Thanks for watching!
I prefer using painters tape and tape things on the edge just far enough in so the corresponding panel fits which also has painters tape on it. That way squeeze out will get on the tape which is then easy removed and the wood stays clean
Lol...triple this size and Im good to go! Gotta love them big dogs!
Modern design looks good but the bed seems a little small for her no room to spread out and get comfortable..👍
You're right! We definitely made it little small for her. It's a good reason to make another 🙂
So love it!
Thank you!!
OMG... 🤩🤩🤩exactly what I was looking for. I wanna make 2 doggy houses for my chihuahuas and was amazed when I came across your video. I would like to make it with access through the top and maybe on locable wheels... Now I just need someone to cut it for me..🥺 Could all the straight cuts be done with a circular saw only,? How did you made 45 andles on the front panels? and how thick is your plywood, please?
Big thank you for sharing this amazing video
taking out the glue can be done both ways but it all depends on what you are going to use for color, meaning if you clean the glue with a wet towel you can use regular paint rolled on normally since it will stick to anything pretty thickly on the surface but if you clean it that same way and try to stain it then since you used a wet towel you actually embed glue into the fibers so if you try to stain it you will get splotchy parts and wont stick on correctly and sometimes wont even stick at all because of the glue so you need to wait till it dries then scrape it off after, so it all depends how you will color it in the end.
that's good to know! thanks for sharing
Great video. Super clean and modern design. You folks are such great role models. Mahalo for sharing? 🙂🐒
Thank you so much!
Cute project but It looks like she preferred to be in your bed than hers.
thanks for watching!
wow
Thanks
Layla is a beautiful girl
She sure is!
Program name?
At wat angle did you cut de frontpieces
45
clean up the glue when it's wet.
Thanks for your input!!
I imagine the smell from the glue, oil-based poly, etc. bothers her. It bothered _me_ , just watching you put it on. Dogs have a keener sense of smell than we do. The dog house looks nice, yes, but the irritating materials you used? Yikes! Would you want to sleep in a small room filled with smells from glue, etc? Maybe air it out for a few weeks, let the smells dissipate, maybe she'll use it more.
Thank you for the concern for our pup. The video edit appears as if we did everything back to back but in reality there were several weeks between finishing the project and actually having her use it for the exact reasoning you mentioned!
