I am a guy so it's not it's not my place to speak on Somali women dress code but i hope Somali people find someone like you who speaks about the taboo subject of hijaab and Somali women in detail. we need to understand that just because a girl doesn't cover her hair does not mean she is sex worker, She can be a decent cultured person, who has a lot of class and high standard of etiquette and good moral campus, a person with goals and dreams that are beyond what she wears on her head while still being a good muslimah. Its a high time we need to make a public awareness about this matter because I know Muslim women of other cultures who are decently covered but let their hair out, they happen to be the most conservative religiously and culturally. Our people made hair cover the cardinal sin while engaging in and accepting other much worse sins. Also I live in American and it breaks my heart to see my people (women) dress so horrendously on American streets, and I don't mean just the hijaab, you can still dress safely and sensibly with your hijaab, the other day I was walking behind a Somali lady and her abaya was literally sweeping the street dirt, the wind was playing on her oversized jalbaab and there was a fusion of a thousand different scented oil coming from her. I felt really bad for her. I Take a look at the fellow Muslim women of the world there are Arabs in the city as well, they are always covered and dressed so conservatively and elegantly, they wear variety of styles of clothing, from abayas to loose fitting pants, pull over jackets, a fitting headscarf, if they wear pants they always wear a long dress over it down to their knees...why can't our people take notes, why do our women want to be an eyesore on the streets of Western cities.
