Bounced that tail wheel just a little hard. Doesn't look like much from this perspective, but being inside of the helo, it's like one of those speed bumps you don't see doing 25 mph.
I'm sure the crew chiefs for that bird were hating that pilot. The tail wheel took a deep stab into the sand and the stabilator hit the sand, too. I'm a crew chief on these and I hate fixing and cleaning what the pilots mess up because of their hot dogging it. That aside, it's still a cool landing video.
Jared Sowinski No, the Navy flies Sea Hawks. If you're looking for a Hawk that the Marines fly, that would be the White Hawk, which is part of the presidential fleet of helicopters. They will fly it at Marine One if whoever is President is on board.

Worked Pavehawks for 5 years, but I gotta admit.. that was bad ass right there.

My favourite part is they just land and the soldiers came out fast, and the heli just go take off fast.

Mike Serot the white hawk is used specifically for Marine One. In combat or in daily routine they fly Blackhawks, Ospreys, and Chinook
