I don't understand why people criticise the content in this song. I think it's amazing, Protest the hero is a band that, despite they play progressive metal, they are still making this "punk" style, with punk i refer to the lyrics content, in this album (Volition) there is a lot of very interesant messages (and excelent music too). If you are an artist, you will try to create and say what you want. For me PTH is a very complete band and i am proud to listen to this.
i won't start a musical discussion cause i don't know very much about music, the important of music is the message artists want to do, genres are for journalists. It's just an opinion, i am sorry if i wrote without know about this"music genre".
“The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.” ― Elie Wiesel
The message about pit bulls really hits home because I, like many, live in a city with a pit bull ban. These dogs are absolutely amazing, and I can't believe how little people seem to care. "They're just dogs. I don't know why everyone gets so worked up about them." Animals are living creatures, too. They feel pain and experience emotions just like people. Dogs are very emotional animals, and I wish more people understood them, or at least tried to.
people do understand.. there are like-minded individuals but the masses don't really care but to make $$$ and become famous... i think we are shifting tho
What a powerful song! I love the fact that there's no hiding. Straight to the point, defendig a REAL cause, music is about emotion and transmitting a message to the audience, i mean these are the kind of songs that remains in your memory, wish more metal bands wrote more lyrics like PTH and old punk and harcore bands there's no real emotion these days.
"And on the 7th day God rested, and listened as Protest The Hero recorded their new album. And he looked upon their creation, and he said it was mind blowing."
Over 131 000 views. Many thanks to Protest The Hero for bringing this issue and awareness to so many people who have no idea how shoddy, unjust, costly, cruel and unjust this barbaric law really is. U are true "Hero's" .
Thousands of non offending dogs have been seized & killed or sent to research facilities due to this horrific, cruel unjust law & families devastated. Kudos to them for sending this message and standing up for YOUR rights.
This is so... frickin'... beautiful. I haven't been a PTH fan for a long time, I discovered them about three months ago but I already love them and songs like this one show that they're not just talented but they also have a heart of gold. KEEP IT UP, PROTEST!
DEAR PtH .... Me and my American Staffy are grateful for your help and support and fight against BSL..... This is a senseless law, and it DOES NOT HELP!!!! !! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing song with an amazing message. I don't own a pitbull but they are a banned breed in some cities and counties here, Most shelters will not adopt them out here either because of the stereotype the media has perpetuated to demonize this animal. Go Canada! Take the power back, It's not too late. Don't give up and become a totalitarian police state like us.
I could honestly not say enough good things about this fucking song and video!!! Seriously you showed how much you care about this breed, you know this breed and portrayed them the way they are when raised by the right people with the right intentions.. It honestly makes me emotional EVERY FUCKING TIME I watch this video cause it's so true! Great work!
This feels like a throwback to Kezia. I love it so much. I feel like you can really tell that they werent being controlled/directed/restricted by a label telling them what to leave in and leave out in their music.
Such an awesome song with a great message. I have a dog (not a pit bull) and I couldn't imagine how it would feel to have him taken away. Thanks for the amazing song, can't wait for the full album!
Wow. Awesome vocals. 1:03 sounds like Behemoth's Nergal, while 3:18 has King Diamond vibes. My utmost admiration to the vocalists who sang those. Well done.
That is wh I'm glad they went all "do it yourself" on this album. It makes it true to who they are, not who the record company wants them to be. Another great band who doesn't follow record companies is Outline in Color. They're very good as well.
This may not be the style of punk I grew up with (I was born in huge 70s), but after seeing this I have nothing but respect for this band. Thank you for making this and taking a stand against BSL
I love this band, and pit bulls, although I'd have to say this isn't their best song, I do still like it. My boyfriend tried to say it's really out of PTH's character, and I laughed in his face and mentioned Kezia. :P
You can own a tiger in Miami, but not a pit bull. I have this beautiful, loving, gentle pit named Bailey. She plays with toddlers fine. This is her favorite song now.
Thanks man! Thats actually our Lead singer Mark Iannelli. Means alot! He comes in right at 3:04 with the high harmony and has the solo at 3:18. Our screamer Aj Kolar is featured at 1:02.
This reminds me of the music PtH used to put out. It's politically driven, and does a damn good job of spreading it's message. I haven't really listened to them in several years, but I'll definitely be listening to them a lot more. "Dollars are worth more! Than a worker in need! More than John and Jane Doe! With a family to feed!" - Red Stars Over the Battle of the Cowshed
Honestly I feel as if they went back to their roots. Kezia kinda wandered a bit from where A Calculated Use of Sound started from. Fortress still covered certain social topics like the rich taking advantage over the poor and such. Volition though there's a noticeable difference. I kinda want to say a lot had to do with them leaving Vagrant Records and them basically self publishing their own work.
Mark Melchor just got my ears on Pacific myth and I feel like volition and fortress had a baby. I really like it. I like them putting out music of their own will.
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Best thing I've seen towards the Ban of these amazing dogs!! What got me was when they busted in to the house and took the dog and put it at gun point.. I thought of my own APBT mix and I lost it!!! I'm sharing, and liking the crap out of this song!!! I wish all artists took a caring to something so important and meaningful!!! You guys ROCK for this!!!!
PITBULLS are pretty much banned here in Ontario... Never owned a pitbull but lived with GIANT dogs and pitbulls are just as fun, if not more energy when I encountered them. The owners of BAD dogs, should be put down. LOVE the video and track! keep it up! 613 REP
GREAT SONG and thanks for defend the pitbull, Im from spain were we have a ridiculous law that punish every kind of dog with similar morfology as a pitbull and dont let us walk our dogs without a short chain and muzzle and they dont understand THE PROBLEM ARE THE HUMANS NOT THE DOGS THANKS A LOT FOR THE SONG
I really really love this song and the message. Ban the human not the breed.
Paladin Squigga, triggered much?
Your went to the other extreme, poor intelligence.
Brainiet take
I'm proud to listen to a band that have content on it's lyrics. PTH FTW
I don't understand why people criticise the content in this song. +Kevin Morgado No part of this song can be placed in the Progressive Metal genre.
i won't start a musical discussion cause i don't know very much about music, the important of music is the message artists want to do, genres are for journalists. It's just an opinion, i am sorry if i wrote without know about this"music genre".
Odd time signatures, key changes, unusual scales... yes it's definetely not progressive metal
“The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it's indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it's indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it's indifference.”
― Elie Wiesel
It's not true tho is it
Best song ever. Thank you Protest The Hero, from one Pit bull Advocate to another. much love.
This band is so bad ass for this song. Thank you for getting the word about BSL out there!
Sailor, my beautiful and responsibly raised Pit, THANK YOU PTH! Awesome, awesome song.
Fucking beautiful piece of music. This album is a masterpiece.
This is the greatest music video ever. All hail Protest The Hero!
That bridge part at 3:04 is after all these years still one of my favourite things in music
It warms my heart to see that you guys stand for such an important cause!!
Humans still have to learn so much from other animals...
This...song....is...freaking...amazing!!! O.o
This band has the best put together music I've seen
This is so awesome, I feel really happy for liking a band that write songs about things like this.
One of those songs that gets better as you memorize it. That's why we love PtH isn't it?
Absolutely LOVE this band and this song is amazing
I feel proud and honoured to say that this is my favourite band.
Best song i never heard before. Seriously, I can't remember another song that gives me the same feelings, i'm next to crying
The message about pit bulls really hits home because I, like many, live in a city with a pit bull ban. These dogs are absolutely amazing, and I can't believe how little people seem to care. This is awesome... Perfect song, great message! Nowadays is difficult to find a band who spread the word in the name of real Justice...
I couldn't agree with this video more!
Love love love it!!! from one Pit bull owner to another you guys ROCK!!!!
Go pth. You guys will forever be the best.
This might be your best song so far, relentless!
"And on the 7th day God rested, and listened as Protest The Hero recorded their new album. And he looked upon their creation, and he said it was mind blowing."
I had two pitbulls in different moments of my life. Both were more affective and meeker than the 90% of dogs. THANK YOU Protest The Hero!
This is probably one of my favourite messages in a song in a long while! Just when I thought I couldn't love PTH any more then I already do.
this is awesome, amazing guitar lines and meaningful lyrics
Thanks means alot man! Thats actually Mark Iannelli, our lead singer!
THIS SONG IS AWESOME!
This is what makes Protest the Hero special. Their gift of controlled chaos
brings tears to my eyes
Over 131 000 views. Many thanks to Protest The Hero for bringing this issue and awareness to so many people who have no idea how shoddy, unjust, costly, cruel and unjust this barbaric law really is. U are true "Hero's" .
Awesome song! one of my favorites of the album!, and this part 1:40 is just too addictive!
Thousands of non offending dogs have been seized & killed or sent to research facilities due to this horrific, cruel unjust law & families devastated. Kudos to them for sending this message and standing up for YOUR rights.
One of the best songs from their new album. The riffs are definitely amazing!

Protest The Hero, best band ever.

this song makes me cry everytime!!!!
This is so... frickin'... beautiful.
I haven't been a PTH fan for a long time, I discovered them about three months ago but I already love them and songs like this one show that they're not just talented but they also have a heart of gold.
KEEP IT UP, PROTEST!
Meaningful song, the best.
Can't wait to see you guys in Gothenburg!
i can not WAIT for this album to drop
DEAR PtH .... Me and my American Staffy are grateful for your help and support and fight against BSL..... This is a senseless law, and it DOES NOT HELP!!!! !! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys slaughter those notes on stage.
Most metal song about puppies ever!
damn hahahahahu
Those are some good puppers and doggos
no,
A series of good puppers and doggos
Love this...thank you !!!
I'm not really a big fan of metal but I love the message behind this. I've had a couple of pitties and they are the sweetest, biggest babies ever.
I'm proud of every pitbull, but ashamed of my own country
This really reminds me of protests first stages back in their EP's, like "These Colors Don't Run". I love it.
amazing song with a great message! So proud of Protest
Great work!
SOOO good ugh!
Love it!
This feels like a throwback to Kezia. I love it so much. I feel like you can really tell that they werent being controlled/directed/restricted by a label telling them what to leave in and leave out in their music.
Love this song.
"The roundup resembles a crystal night" awesome.
I was shattered for a second reading that...
Currently my favorite song off the album.

My utmost admiration to the vocalists who sang those. Well done.
rody's got such a good harsh sound, glad it's back for this album.
That is wh I'm glad they went all "do it yourself" on this album. It makes it true to who they are, not who the record company wants them to be. Another great band who doesn't follow record companies is Outline in Color. They're very good as well.
I’d like go to this land just for givin my congrats for Protest the Hero
This song has made me want to adopt a Pitbull SO BAD! The dog in this video is adorable :)
This may not be the style of punk I grew up with (I was born in huge 70s), but after seeing this I have nothing but respect for this band. Thank you for making this and taking a stand against BSL
The task is OOOUUURRSS to keep our dogs and children safe!!
I love this song. Its message is right on point. Plus this song kicks more ass than Red off of That 70's show.
I love this band, and pit bulls, although I'd have to say this isn't their best song, I do still like it. My boyfriend tried to say it's really out of PTH's character, and I laughed in his face and mentioned Kezia. :P
This album is entirely their sound. It's their sound all grown up. It's punky at times, always melodic, always catchy, and always heavy.
Longrod Von Hugendong exactly!
I'm waiting patiently...
Awesome video
Powerful AF
I'm normally not the kind of guy who likes my music to get super-preachy but this has a good message. Can't wait for the album to come out.
You can own a tiger in Miami, but not a pit bull. I have this beautiful, loving, gentle pit named Bailey. She plays with toddlers fine. This is her favorite song now.
I love PTH and this song makes my love even stronger! I used to foster & rescue pit bulls.
God damnit I cried at the end of this song when I understood the meaning behind it... Fucking poetically brilliant and sad...
Thanks man! Thats actually our Lead singer Mark Iannelli. Means alot! He comes in right at 3:04 with the high harmony and has the solo at 3:18. Our screamer Aj Kolar is featured at 1:02.
Most under rated band in my opinion, look them up. you wont
regret it.
Have they strayed from this kind of music? They're still pretty in to their morals in my opinion
Honestly I feel as if they went back to their roots. Kezia kinda wandered a bit from where A Calculated Use of Sound started from. yea thats my favourite song.
DOLLARS ARE WORTH MORE THAN CENTS lol
This song is AWESOME!! Thank you for bringing awareness about BSL. We must stop this!
Kick ass song! At first I wasnt taking it seriously but then midway througj I understood what it all meant.
NICE what a perk to receive
Absolutely amazing!!!!! Best thing I've seen towards the Ban of these amazing dogs!! What got me was when they busted in to the house and took the dog and put it at gun point.. I thought of my own APBT mix and I lost it!!! I'm sharing, and liking the crap out of this song!!! I wish all artists took a caring to something so important and meaningful!!! You guys ROCK for this!!!!
It's a real legislation that will affect many living breathing wonderful family pets. I'm glad the lyrics are in your face. thats the point.
Awesome
this song makes me cry ugh fucck
RIGHT?! I lose my shit at the end when the Pitt Bull licks the barrel instead of defend itself... Sums up a true Bully right there!
Holy effing shiat. Protest the Hero did it again
PITBULLS are pretty much banned here in Ontario... Never owned a pitbull but lived with GIANT dogs and pitbulls are just as fun, if not more energy when I encountered them. The owners of BAD dogs, should be put down. LOVE the video and track! keep it up! 613 REP

this song gave me goosebumps. Then I went and hugged my pit bull and cried.
