Listening on my monitors they're fine, but on my headphones they're too low. Probably panned them hard left and right.
I was reading this as the song started. Yes.
I think it was their intention. Having it in the "background" gives it a unique flavor. I also think it should of been a bit louder, but I can understand why they chose to do it that way.
There's another version that I think is album version that has the higher vocals. I actually prefer this version to that personally.. I don't know if it was mixing "error" or whatever.. but it worked.
They are really low, but I honestly prefer it that way
