I went on a plant tour at the Rouge Plant in 1980. I see things have changed since then. We visited the Henry Ford museum also. Amazing place.

Have always been curious, I know that after they are built, they do have to put a few miles on them by actually road testing them, but I am sure that there probably have been lots of new truck owners who have requested that their new truck have absolutly NO miles on it when they purchase it, Now there is probably NO WAY that that could even be possible right?????

Andrew Silva no, it's not possible. Very few are selected for road test during each shift and they will have a sticker on the window explaining the vehicle was selected for road test and how many miles were put on it during. Also, the vehicles are driven off the line once they're built. Then they go through the tow in process for the alignment. The wheels are rolling for that process. Then they are tested on the roll test where the trucks are on rollers and put up to speed while calibrations are done. Then they have to be driven to the shipping yard and put on trucks or trains. Usually trucks will have several miles on them when they get to the dealer.
