    to do this properly you need to drain the coolant- get the same point before you poured the water in. close the bleeder valve, fill reservoir and radiator to top. run car for 10+ mins with heat on to get the thermostat to open up and circulate the water to flush out later. let the car cool down. then drain the system again- fill your coolant- then proceed to bleed any air in the system

    To drain the resivor tank just remove the hose that goes into radiator and snake it to the drain pan. It's easier and you don't have to remove the resivor. Nice video. I have a 2012 grand touring.

      But he wanted to clean it inside and out. You should remove it to clean it.

      That's an easier way of draining the reservoir :)

    What about the old coolant in the engine block? You don't drain and rinse it with distilled water? I thought one should either drain the engine block or top off the radiator with water, have engine run for a few minutes, drain, and repeat three times to get all old coolant out before replacing water with the new coolant.

      You are supposed to do that. It even says it in the workshop manual

      Just like changing the transmission oil, it is okay to be not getting every drop out. If you are maintenance it periodically, let say for every 30000mile or 3 years, you are good. If you are not changing the coolant for a decade or high millage, when you drain the coolant out, you can see the coolant is in brown or even black, flushing with distilled water as you mentioned is recommend.

      @@tyronenur2373I found the service manual online and I noticed that it doesn't say to drain the coolant from the engine block. All it says is to drain the radiator until all traces of color are gone, refill with coolant and then it goes into the "burping procedure".

    Это частичная замена антифриза, а оставшийся в блоке как его слить? Чтобы была полная замена жидкости

    Didn't even try to drain the coolant left in the water jackets, this is a how not to do.

      UreThane it does. YT has been my
      Source for learning how to do everything on my 5 on my own. Last question of the day. I have the basic touring edition with no Bluetooth connection anywhere. Would you know if I am able to buy a used steaming wheel for my 5 with Bluetooth and able to add Bluetooth connection somehow?

    • @thanelach
      @thanelach  4 года назад +1

      Good question. I know there is a Bluetooth module that sits behind your glove box, I know the steering wheel has Bluetooth buttons and I know you’ll need the microphone module for the Bluetooth calls. My thinking is there an existing wiring sitting there for the Bluetooth module, microphone and steering wheel wiring or would I have too add wiring and make the connections. The touring and grand touring models have Bluetooth but I am unsure of the sport models.
