What an amazing space and fireplace. And what potential. Rebuild the chimney and restore the fireplace. You could put a woodstove in for cooking and heating. Bedroom and bathroom upstairs. An amazing studio to rent out. Good luck with this project. It is safe in your hands
Isn’t it, tho? ❤ I think this is a perfect place for a workshop. He can store his wares in the new loft and have his tools below. Great business venture. WOW 🤩
I can hear your mind thinking, Sean, all the way to Minnesota. And your final solution will be perfect...It's always nice to digest a bit over a week or two or three before the final plan is attempted, then with adaptations along the way, according to need, pocketbook, supplies, etc. Perfection takes time, but in the end it comes together. It is with brains like yours that gorgeous homes will last forever and be the envy of all!
Despite the disrepair, that last cottage is just so awesome. The historical sense of it all together with the potential for the future use of the space - are rather moving!
Your videos are highly entertaining for me. Your expertise, knowledge is wonderful to observe. I enjoy your descriptions of the work that you are doing and teaching your viewers. Your dialogue and videoing is spot on Sean. Keep up the good work.
All in all the space looks to be a good shape! I know you have your hands full with the current jobs you've outlined but it looks like the end cottage would be straight forward!! Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the next stage of renovation!
Taking out that straw ceiling won't be a problem. It looks like it's about to fall down anyways! LOL Once that area has been cleared out, you can use it as a storage room while fixing up the other areas. Thanks for sharing your day, Sean. 👍
That's another one of Sean's mindbenders, he's never been in the end cottage before, but he has put in all sorts of architectural bits and pieces! Maybe he's got a double in a parallel universe?
Could imagine dancing old country dances in that big room. Add a mezzanine with small tables and or a space for musicians. People need gatherings Sean. And we all love imagining. Such a great space. Saving the best for last ❤️
Very good video again. Lots of good potential in this cottage. Working out the repairs as you film! That's my man. It's a gift of knowledge that allowed for that. Natalie says hello to Sam and yourself.
This end cottage appears in better condition (other than the roof of course) than the areas you are currently working in. As you said, it will make an exciting project in the future👍🏻
It’s suddenly looking cold there Sean. I’m stuck in Singapore here, so I forgot how the seasons change there in Europe. Hopefully Sam has got you focusing heavily on insulating the family home when you’re not dealing with your other cottages 👌
When you tired the end courage, i noticed that vertical timber in the attic that looks like it's leaning. I think it looks like it's come away from the ridge timber and is only supported by the beam it sits on and the cross piece that it's leaning against. I think you should take a closer look at it. What a shame the chimney has been entirely removed. Those big old stones are gorgeous. What an ancient feeling property!
Looking forward to the next installment 🎉 Thank you for sharing Sean x Hope the kittens are well and full of mischief ❤ hugs from Zaaso , "Zazibar animal affection society " we love all animals ❤
Amazing to see the cottage inside before anything is do e to it. How fortunate we are to have the homes we have today, although tjose were built well to last this long.
The end cottage has a truly medieval atmosphere, it's amazing & fascinating! Just an idea & not trying to teach Grandma to suck eggs (lol), as you're the expert: would it be worth considering putting a log burner in the fireplace of the end cottage rather than having to rebuild a complete stone chimney? It would look & feel just as cosy.
You will get a better return on your money in the end unit if it were a rental. Anew workshop would accommodate newer type tools to build or renovate for as long as you like. I'd prefer a chimney and wood heater/ stove. Keep the age showing a bit in there.
I can't believe anyone can live in a place like that with all those buildings and not have explored each and every one to the fullest right from the beginning, wow! I'm sure you must have at least peeked in at some point, even without the exploring? I sure would have, lol! You're doing well with the precautions on the one you are working on. Keep up the good work Sean!
When l moved in my main concern was to renovate my cottage, that's still ongoing. Yes l did go in the doorway just to put a few items in there, but never ventured any further with a torch. It just wasn't very high on the priority list 😉
Thanks for making room in your time machine for us. 😂 I so enjoy seeing the old construction and your creative ways of fixing it up. If the walls could just talk.
Hello Sean and Sam and family. Excited to watch this one. I know they are still looking for the crown jewels from Louie....... Could it be?? Take care Not sure I can watch this as it 1sr Aires Natalie's not home and I get yelled at if I don't wait for her 😁
What an amazing building you could feel the atmosphere even though the video and could imagine how it would have been to live there hundreds of years ago a lot of work to do but so satisfying to bring it back to life 😊❤
Such an interesting place. When you take down the ceiling what will you replace it with? Or will you just leave it open to the rafters? And must add you gave me the jitters when you were reaching out way too far while working on the roof interior.
Thanks for letting us share your explorations. Fascinating to see. Glad for the motto safety first. Is your cap a hard hat version? I hope so, especially with dodgy roofs.
Membrane is working because that back wall looks dry. I can’t imagine not looking into that amazing space, fantastic potential. Can’t wait to see that worked on…..but one job at a time 😉
The wheels in your head were spinning with ideas and solutions. You are working through a massive project but little by little those buildings will be wonderful living spaces. Stay safe! Another great video, Sean.
Very interesting as usual Sean but I do worry about the stability of the scaffolding towers not only for yourself but when other people use them in their renovations.🤔
What are your plans for the cottages Sean - are they for family members, or would they be for holiday rentals, or long term lets? I’d sign up for a couple of weeks in that beautiful part of France, if it was available 👌 And I have no doubt that if they were available on any of the usual holiday rental sites, that they’d be quickly snapped up - what a beautiful part of the world you live in ❤
Would it make the loose stone work more stable if you secured it by filling the gaps with mortar prior to adding and fixing that sloping beam (which is a good idea I might add)...?
Great vlog Sean, the end cottage is amazing. Do you think those stones came from another older building somewhere? Loving these projects, much love to you, Sam, Jasmin, Jack, Tom and the cats x ❤
Not wanting to sound like a smarta*se [apparently I am, I've been told], why is the Alfa Romeo's door open, even kool cars batteries go flat. Not a bad place, from what I can tell, noticed the deadley treadley, hope you can get that goin too? Wonder why the window on the end was stoned up? Nice goin Sean, I learned a couple of things 9:25in love that bench, my mum's mum had on almost the same. Loved the marble [I think it was] in one of the 4 bedrooms at her place. Thanks m8, you certainly have some headscratchers.

😊😮
If only walls could talk. What a story they could tell!
WOW THOSE HEARTH FIREPLACES ARE HUGE. CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS LITTLE COTTAGE TO BE RENOVATED. 😁😁😁✅✅✅
ME TOO 😉
the whole cottage without the floor above would be a great place for a work shop
Thanks 👍
Looking forward to seeing you restore the beautiful buildings .😊👍💕🇨🇦
All in all the space looks to be a good shape! I know you have your hands full with the current jobs you've outlined but it looks like the end cottage would be straight forward!! Thanks for giving us a glimpse of the next stage of renovation!
Your welcome
What humble dwellings workers of the past lived in. The contrast between the small cottages and grand châteaux is acute.
Not much different to today!
Taking out that straw ceiling won't be a problem. It looks like it's about to fall down anyways! LOL
Once that area has been cleared out, you can use it as a storage room while fixing up the other areas.
Thanks for sharing your day, Sean. 👍
Beautiful piece of history in that ole cottage Sean
Scaffolding is your best friend!!
That's another one of Sean's mindbenders, he's never been in the end cottage before, but he has put in all sorts of architectural bits and pieces! Maybe he's got a double in a parallel universe?
I said in the video l had never been in that far with a torch to the fireplace as its not safe.
Or upstairs on a ladder, l don't lie
Could imagine dancing old country dances in that big room. Add a mezzanine with small tables and or a space for musicians. People need gatherings Sean. And we all love imagining. Such a great space. Saving the best for last ❤️

Hi Natalie
Hello Sean I don't yell at Wayne if he watches without me. I just don't make his dinner 😇
This end cottage appears in better condition (other than the roof of course) than the areas you are currently working in. As you said, it will make an exciting project in the future👍🏻
Can’t believe you’ve lived there 15 years & this is your first look. Come on Sean!
I don't lie, l have had a few other things to do
Got it Sean
My thought exactly ! You bought that property 15 yrs ago and we’re not curious to see the interior ??? That’s BAFFLING & hard to believe.
Question, why not repoint the fragile wall first t help give it some strength?
Love the end cottage. I know you could make it beautiful.
Exciting.
You don’t create small projects for yourself, do you Seán, can’t believe how much work you have looking at you 😊
Hi Sean, ive never seen the inside of the cottage youve restored and are living in. Id love you to do a vlog on it.
I would say an overwhelming project!
No worries 👍
Very exciting episode! Thank you all for making and sharing this wonderful episode! I very much enjoy these episodes!😮😊❤
So cool finding things on your property that you've never seen before. Crack on Sean!
Wow, Sean, you have enough projects to last a lifetime there. That end cottage will be a big job. Nothing you can't handle.
I love seeing old videos pop-up in my RUclips feed. ❤🇨🇦
It’s suddenly looking cold there Sean. I’m stuck in Singapore here, so I forgot how the seasons change there in Europe. Hopefully Sam has got you focusing heavily on insulating the family home when you’re not dealing with your other cottages 👌
Ooh, I've been waiting for this! Yeah.
Congratulations on reaching the target for the new drill 🎉
Thanks will make a big difference
Love that space when it's finished, I will come rent it for a few days, love the show.
❤ Really enjoyed the show. What really helps, is your demeanor. Very pleasant. Nice work, too. ❤
Brilliant vlog Sean,x

Yes iam aware of the un attatched ridge beam
Thank you for the new video, Sean! I immediately fell in love with this antique washstand and the former fireplace with its large stones 😍
Some history there Sean. Are you infilling between wall and roof for fire proofing? Just a thought. Keep at it and stay well.
Looking forward to the next installment 🎉
Thank you for sharing Sean x
Hope the kittens are well and full of mischief ❤ hugs from Zaaso , "Zazibar animal affection society " we love all animals ❤
Yes they are doing just fine
Overwhelming!
A stone building is just the best.
Loved that you showed the other bldg. Very spacious in there and almost empty too! Thanks for showing us that!
Very cool.
The end cottage has so much atmosphere and personality!
Amazing to see the cottage inside before anything is do e to it. How fortunate we are to have the homes we have today, although tjose were built well to last this long.
In Ireland I think that they would have built and used this structure to shelter animals during bad weather and in Winter.
Lovely Sean ♥️👏👏👏

Either way it will have a log burner with a flue pipe double lined if l don't build the stone work back up
@@Seans_World yes, I just thought adding a wood stove chimney pipe might be less hard work for you. I'm sure it will look amazing whatever you do.
You will get a better return on your money in the end unit if it were a rental. Anew workshop would accommodate newer type tools to build or renovate for as long as you like. I'd prefer a chimney and wood heater/ stove. Keep the age showing a bit in there.
Very interesting! Are you going to open up that bricked window?
That’s an incredible space with so many possibilities!!❤❤
I can't believe anyone can live in a place like that with all those buildings and not have explored each and every one to the fullest right from the beginning, wow! Love that end cottage, wow you have a few money makers there! It's going to be beautiful!
Thanks for the tour of the old cottage. My husband and I always enjoy your videos 💜
Thanks for making room in your time machine for us. 😂
I so enjoy seeing the old construction and your creative ways of fixing it up. If the walls could just talk.
I cant imagine what that space could become but i know it will be beautiful.
What a cool place that building could be! Definitely needs work, but the chimney stones are huge!
That old end cottage roof looks pretty good. Next one on the list I bet.
The video for this episode was excellent. Can tell you put thought and effort into getting good angles with adequate lighting. 👍👍👍
Amazing structure 🥰
Hello Sean and Sam and family. Excited to watch this one. I know they are still looking for the crown jewels from Louie....... Could it be?? Take care Not sure I can watch this as it 1sr Aires Natalie's not home and I get yelled at if I don't wait for her 😁
😆
What an amazing interior. Challenges ahead, I think 😊
Great video, fun to see inside and hear the solutions you come up with! ❤ Be careful
The outside is looking so beautiful ❤
Wow wow wow!😮Beautiful beams and stones!😊
I’m sure excited about this new project!
Awesome 😊😊😊
Wow! That cottage tour was absolutely amazing, thank you so much for sharing this with us, with much love to you all 🤗
Yes, very interesting features!
Thank you for sharing 😊
What an amazing building you could feel the atmosphere even though the video and could imagine how it would have been to live there hundreds of years ago a lot of work to do but so satisfying to bring it back to life 😊❤
Sean, what beautiful buildings you have ❤ lots of work to keep you occupied.
Have a great week everyone.
I was saying "Yes, yes, get your ladder!" 🤣 Very cool.
Another very interesting video I bet that cottage could tell some stories
I love that iron window and rock frame the depth is excellent for a pie cooling😊
Such an interesting place. When you take down the ceiling what will you replace it with? Or will you just leave it open to the rafters? And must add you gave me the jitters when you were reaching out way too far while working on the roof interior.

@@Seans_World Good man!

Very interesting as usual Sean but I do worry about the stability of the scaffolding towers not only for yourself but when other people use them in their renovations.🤔
It's normally secured with straps
Ok Sean, This has got to be a labor of love or you wouldn't still at ..........I love the tenacity of you and Sam You don't give up!
Out of all the spaces you have shown us this one is amazing! I can see so much potential for it!
GM,,,Sean&Sam😊
I know you’ll sort that conundrum Sean, as you’ve sorted all the other conundrums you’ve encountered. 👏🏻🤣
Sean, be careful on that scaffold! Great work! Crack on!
The front of your buildings is looking soooo nice!
Hard workers
I love the thumb trick you use for keeping the saw straight
It's as much about protecting your hand as keeping it straight
Hi Sean -now my question is this are you going create each interior of each cottage the same or different?
Each will be unique and quirky
What are your plans for the cottages Sean - are they for family members, or would they be for holiday rentals, or long term lets?
I’d sign up for a couple of weeks in that beautiful part of France, if it was available 👌
And I have no doubt that if they were available on any of the usual holiday rental sites, that they’d be quickly snapped up - what a beautiful part of the world you live in ❤
That cottage has a lot of potential, but alot of work to get it there
Love the look of the end cottage hope you are restoring it too.
Definitely
Would it make the loose stone work more stable if you secured it by filling the gaps with mortar prior to adding and fixing that sloping beam (which is a good idea I might add)...?
No timber in first then brick upwards
That place is going to be amazing! Can’t wait to see what your plans are!❤️
Another good one Sean! You sure know what's you're doing! It's a pleasure to see to work on these beautiful old buildings.
We are all holding our breath when you were on the scaffolding Sean
Me too 😉
Ohhhh yessss finally!
That little wall could you dismantle it a little and rebuild incorporating the new purlin?
Pulldown hat floor and it looks like you have a very good blank slate.
Great vlog Sean, the end cottage is amazing. Do you think those stones came from another older building somewhere? Loving these projects, much love to you, Sam, Jasmin, Jack, Tom and the cats x ❤
Possibly 😊
It’s actually very clean maybe in a better shape than the two middle buildings
It has structural roof issues
Yes but the stonework seems like they never had a fireplace used so much like the middle buildings.
❤❤❤❤
You have a lot of work cut out for you.what are the other cottages going to be?
Useable spaces for work and habitation
Not wanting to sound like a smarta*se [apparently I am, I've been told], why is the Alfa Romeo's door open, even kool cars batteries go flat. Hi there Thanks for your kind donation, l turn the interior lights off If l have the car doors open 😀 👍
Amazing how people lived- must not have been easy at all.
