S6 Ep 8 Porto, Portugal - is Porto worth a visit?

We are motorhomers Dave and Tiffany and together with our two dogs we like to travel around Europe.
In this series we plan on visiting France, Portugal and Spain before heading back on the ferry from Santander to Portsmouth in late November.
This weeks episode we travel across from Chaves to Porto. We had read that it was fairly difficult to get onto the sites around Porto so headed off early in the morning (early bird catches the worm or so they say) to get into the queue so we could stay on one of our ears marked sites.
Initially the campsite was not letting anybody in until 2 pm but they had our details and luckily for us they let us in early.
With lunch done, we headed out from the site to the very long beach. There were by this time lots of motorhomes waiting in the carpark opposite the site to get in.
We spent the afternoon walking along the boardwalks by the beach but unfortunately dogs were not allowed onto the beach itself. This was a hug disappointment for the dogs and us.
The following morning we booked a pet friendly taxi using the bolt app to go into Porto itself. The app worked really well and the cost we thought was quite cheap.
We spent the day walking around Porto city. It is a very bustling, noisy, lively and popular city. Not only did we have all the sites to see - cathedral, churches, train station Sao Bento, famous book store Livraria Lello, the half rabbit and so the list goes on. There is also a lot of music and dancing going on as you walk along the streets.
With both ourselves and the dogs exhausted from the sensory overload and sightseeing we used the Bolt app to book a pet friendly taxi back to the site - Campismo do Salgueiros. This site is rather rough and run down and one that we would not recommend, but it is close to Porto, handy for the taxi and the staff are helpful and pleasant.
Porto is, however, worth a visit.
