The assassin's creed universe is not only about assassins, but also about Templars, modernity and stories about an ancient race. The new trilogy tells about an ancient civilization.
True. Not all of assassin's creed is only assassins and templars. But in the last games not even a 20 % of the history it's about assassins and templars. At least they could put a 40%.
I mean to be fair, the main story the order of ancients are the villains who are basically templars. The Isu didn't get much time in the story in the older games so these newer games kind of cover that. Besides to be real it's only 3 games that have been made in this style and if the rumors are true Ubisoft are ditching the RPG style for something else in the next mainline AC game.
One of the AC commandments was that the story would always be about the secret war between Assassins and Templars. Unfortunately Ubisoft has decided to retcon that and focus much much more on these Isu worlds. Technically it's supposed to be explained away through the animus, but actually it's really no different than any fantasy world, like Dragon Age or LotR.
I still can't believe what assassin's creed franchise was and what it is now. I think I have to stick to old ones and never come back. This franchise is dead to me. Thank you ubisoft for destroying one of the best franchises. What a shame.

It's assassin's creed but a prequel. In time line wise. Before the assassin's and templar order. Where in the ISU world but viewing in way that people believed God's and myths. So the weapons are isu weapons.
Ubisoft... Detach the Assassin's Creed name from this kind of games. This is fantasy, not Assassin's Creed. Do you forgot what you meant in the beginning of the series? You removed a cross-bow from Altair, because of historical inaccuracies... and now gods and myths? Make a new IP that explore the fantasy of myths from History, that would be cool. This is not Assassin's Creed.
Technically, the Isu were considered god even on early stages of Assassin's Creed, but I do agree that the story is getting absurder by each new game title, even though it only started with Origins, but Rogue, Unity and Syndicate also had their problems.

They've had both though, right? The Druid and Paris DLCs were tangible, real world stories, while this is myth and legend. Odyssey and Origins both had their 'real world' DLCs and their mythical DLCs. I may not be the biggest fan of Valhalla, but I think they'd be doing a disservice by not leaning into Norse mythology.
Think of it as Eivor watching Odin's memories but its altered in some ways that the memories appear as if the events looked like how a Norseman thought of gods, instead of it looking like the Fate of Atlantis DLC which clearly shows the gods as ISU.

Odin is male. I repeat ODIN IS A MALE. For once, I can agree playing as female Eivor, although male Eivor is far superior, just like Kassandra was better in Odyssey.
But playing as female Odin is equivalent to heresy.
Ubisoft are misandrists. You will see 1 male protagonist every 3 or 4 games, and they'll have smaller games every time. That's the hateful misandrist future Ubisoft plan for us.

That's the future is what I'm saying. And it shouldn't be. Not that you'll care, but look at it like this. Gay men have had literally no protagonist roles at all yet. Ubisoft promise that they can finally see representation, only for gay male fans to pay for the new games and find out "they were women the entire time." That is beyond hypocritical, and to forcefully lie and abuse and gatekeep a minority group, means ubisoft have lost the right to pull the "equality" card when it comes to their all to often boyish and ignorant depiction of female protagonists.

When is it going to be an assassins and templars game UBISOFT.
Why bother Assassins and Templars if you can go to VALHAAAALLLLAAAAAAA!!!!! 👻🥳🥳🥳
I can’t wait to ride Freyja’s wild boar!!! 🐗🥳
Just keep in your mind that this is supposed to be "Assassin's Creed"
I still can't believe what assassin's creed franchise was and what it is now. I think I have to stick to old ones and never come back. This franchise is dead to me. Thank you ubisoft for destroying one of the best franchises. What a shame.

It's assassin's creed but a prequel. In time line wise. Before the assassin's and templar order. Where in the ISU world but viewing in way that people believed God's and myths. So the weapons are isu weapons.
This is cool but i can't recognize this franchise anymore, just name it battle of the gods or something
Go take a nap you’ll feel better
Technically, the Isu were considered god even on early stages of Assassin's Creed, but I do agree that the story is getting absurder by each new game title, even though it only started with Origins, but Rogue, Unity and Syndicate also had their problems.
@@LuizFelipe-lk1hs (just wanting to correct you)
Even in the early games the isu themselves are stating that they are not gods, just those who came before.
@@ThodorisManiatis1220 The Isu were literally a race that inspired several civilisations to create their polytheistic pantheons, but since explaining that takes so long to do and it is basically complicating something that doesn't need to be, simplifying thei nature as "gods" for the humans isn't wrong on a conceptual basis.
Hmm, do I want to bother playing this game for the privilege of being treated like a cash machine.

The assassin's creed universe is not only about assassins, but also about Templars, modernity and stories about an ancient race. The new trilogy tells about an ancient civilization.
Looks great, but doesn’t resonate with me. I’m all for real tangible stories and assassin’s creed lore. Dreams and myth and wonderland just isn’t a match when it come to ac imo.

They don't need lots of people to like it. They just need a fraction of the previous fanbase to like it. They can still make more money than before from people buying microtransactions and paying for the season pass. And the longer people play, the more incentive they have to spend money on microtransactions. Plus Ubisoft can show it to their shareholders as a success story. Hence the really, really long games and endless content - Ubisoft can show investors that people are playing for a really long time, without having to go to the trouble of coming up with a new core concept. And by copying other franchises they save time. Why come up with something new and original when you could save yourself time and money making a copy and paste game?

For anyone complaining about it being to syfy and mythical its part of the lore this is from the time of the isu the ones that came before Odin's race, it's been apart of assassins creed since the first it just hasn't been explored , this dlc is set before the great catastrophe that wiped out the isu and other races that lived alongside we get to see this at the end of Ac revelations in a cgi cutscene when the world ends , in valhalla the Norse call the catastrophe ragnorok , we also see it in odyssey when the catastrophe destroys Atlantis , juno, Jupiter and minerva mention it to Desmond in the great temples, the isu went extinct but humans survived and rebuilt but lost ancient isu knowledge and records to time , mythical beings like the jötunheimr in jotunheim in valhalla or the Egyptian and greek mythical creatures/races from origins and odyssey in the curse of the pharaohs dlc and Atlantis dlcs were just other races that lived during the time of the isu's but also got wiped out and went extinct from the great catastrophe, coming from a hardcore ac fan since 2007 I personally like that we get to explore all this isu stuff I was always curious about the way they lived and what other races roamed the earth at their time and any hardcore ac fan complaining about this dont know the lore of the series properly
asgard , jotunheim from valhalla
Aaru , Aten , Duat, and heb sed realms from origins curse of the pharaoh dlc
underworld, Atlantis and elysium realms from odyssey fate of atlantis dlc
were all real places in the lore that existed before the great catastrophe wiped them the isu and the mythical creatures out in 75000bc

This looks amazing especially the ability to revive fallen enemies as allies. Great for some tactical gameplay and also the ability to social stealth with the new enemy powers in dawn of ragnarok
