Warm it up, WARM IT UP. I own one and would recommend the DCT. Mine has been very reliable but I also get 15mpg. In the UK that's a real issue. Brakes are a weak point, merely OK. Engine is awesome.

It’s a special car and is expensive to run as oil is expensive and it drinks fuel, but it’s say it’s a relatively reliable sport car.

Ofc a race car is a racecar, the e92 has itbs controlled by a throttle actuator, and a Honda has 1 throttle body controlled by a cable. So yeah there’s more parts to break, but that’s the trade off when buying a performance car. But I do think the e92 M3 is a very reliable platform.

I have done some of the preventive maintenance, but the only issue I had with my car was my throttle valve control and that was caused by me tuning the car and modifying it. Keep it stock, do the minor preventive maintenance and the car will treat your right for a really long time.

In my 5th year of E92 M3,s , two different cars. A coil pack went in my first, throttle actuator on the current. That’s it, no other problems. Really well built ,robust cars. Warm them up properly and you won’t have bearing issues.
From my experience the subs and the amp usually go out together. I had both replaced under warranty, first the subs and then the amp since the subs alone weren’t the issue.
You should avoid getting below the minimum fuel threshold. It causes extra stress on your fuel pump. Which means you'll be replacing it sooner than it needed to be.
From a big BMW fan, e93 m3 dct, a new Supra and a 2020 x7 for the wifey, I’d buy another e92/93 m3 in a second. I have other cars and I still love driving that M3. Mine is a ‘13 and it still feels new with 50k miles. Literally zero issues.
I've had my '10 for 7 years. 3rd owner, 88k miles and I've literally only done normal maintenance and replaced a tail light bulb. (Other than mods, obviously.)

Realistically you really let it run for about one minute then you drive and that’s really depending on the weather, in the winter here in Ohio I would give it a few minutes as that 10-60w oil is gonna be super thick in the cold but spring and winter I don’t give it but a minute tops just to let the oil circulate then get in

E92 M3s are reliable. ANY BMW E9X chassis other than the early N54s is reliable AF. Any F30 is reliable AF. Just maintain them and drive them the way they are suppose to. -owner of F30 335i Msport, E92 M3 ZCP, E90 328i LCI. BTW, Im pushing 50 MPG in my M3 but IDK why though lol. I will say that I drove the ugly ford fusion hybrid as a rental and that shit drained gas compaired to my E92 M3. If we look at it as a tech prospective, a gaming computer with powerful components will take less power/energy to process a simple game like GTA San Andreas while karen's "gaming computer" that she has "at home" which is actually an office computer will need more energy to run the game, the game will be playing a lot less smoothly, making it less efficient and more costly to run. The thing is, the E92 M3 has a lot of power, therefor the engine won't need much gas to pick up and go, while the dangerous and powerless fusion needs so much gas and higher revs to pick up speed at the freeways. Scotty Kilmer even agrees to this, so does Top Gears experiment. How I do it is that from a standing start I somewhat quickly speed a little over the speed limit and then coast to the speed limit. You're also better off switching to lower gears to accelerate faster when needed. If you drive on higher or highest gear to accelerate, you'll take up more time to get to the desired speed and results to more gas wasted. In contrast with lower gears and higher RPMS, despite it wastes more gas, the time to get to those speeds is quicker and more efficient, therefor less gas wasted.

You don't realize how many people that bring their car into my job because they messed something up. You are lucky. Loved mine had for 4 years...from 60k to 125k. Babied it, good mechanic....and still lots of 1-2k bills for shit here and there

You are not supposed to let the fuel run so low. The manual says 3O miles minimum I think. It could damage the engine otherwise.
