Didn't realize it was this easy to change! Great tip on how to pump out the old oil 👍 I had the same exact belt chirp when I used the auxiliary pulley. VMP told me it's normal to hear after about 5k of miles of installing it. They said it is related to how the edge of the belt wears. When I switched to the 90mm idler, and took off the auxiliary pulley the noise went away. I'm only on the stock blower, so I don't need the extra wrap.
Great explanation, that would make sense. I've had this belt on for probably 10k miles, so yeah, that is more than enough time to wear funny. I'll be changing it out. I hate squeaks and cherps on a car like this, hell even the "budget" truck I hate squeaks lol

@@skylersmall6322 taking out the 2 10mm bolts holding the coolant reservoir and moving it out of the way gains a lot of space. Then the tensioner needs to come off to get the belt off because the pulley is that close to the engine.
From VMP's website. "While it's recommended to change the supercharger at 100,000 miles, if you pulley down to a smaller pulley or you run your vehicle hard, you might need to change the oil sooner (such as 30,000 miles or 36 months - whichever comes first). "
same here roush 2.3 changed oil and glad too , it was bad , now following your steps to the belt change ! did you notice any difference in performance ? after oil and belt change ? any supercharger wine notice ? mine does't wine at all
Hey, no I didn't notice and substantial change. Whine usually doesn't really happen until you get about 14psi or greater. At 18 psi it sings. 2.5" upper and 10% lower. Your exhaust will also drown it out pretty easily if its loud.
How many miles were on the old oil before you changed it? I have a VMP gen2r, 70k ROUGH miles on blower, smaller pulley, and I’m trying to change it now. Blower is whining loud and making noises.

My GTO squealed loud.😅 replaced idler pulley as a guess solution, nope! It was serpentine belt. Night /day difference.
How difficult is it to change the belt? Looks like it would be a nightmare.

Wow that SC oil was nasty looking vs. the new stuff. Good thing you changed it out regardless of noise reduction. Cheap insurance.

I bought my Gt500 at 100k miles and idk if it's ever been changed. It also has a smaller pulley on it.. now I'm worried. Lol
If it's not making noise, it's fine. Change it and be on your way lol
