He died almost a week before an epic match between Olympics and Kotoko in the semis of CAF Clubs championship. Despite being an Olympics fan I shed tears when his death was announced at 14h00 on radio. During the days leading to the game, Sir Cecil Jones appeared on the front page of one the leading Sports newspapers with the caption "Kotoko will see" and believe you me he dribbled from the middle of the park and scored the first goal. What a match! ...Respect, Black Rasta.
Woooow very interesting but sad 😢 history . God bless you Godfather Blakk Rasta for the this great great great Documentary I wish all Ghanaians historians , Journalist and media Personell are like you I hope we get such historical documentaries like this king 👑 Continue with the good work for Africans
What Rev. Osei Kofi is saying about Robert Mensah is very true. I came in contact with the late Robert Mensah when the late Ohene Gyan dissolved the Black Stars and formed the Southern Sector and Northern Sector of the Black Stars. It was there l got in contact with him at the Northern Sector and we were camped at KNUST and believe me this man would never train as a Goalkeeper he would play with us as players until the Coach Ben Koufie would to be in our respective positions then he would go to the post as Goalkeeper. Rev. Osei Kofi and Ibrahim Sunday were very close friend indeed.
This is nostalgic memories of yesteryear. Thank you black Rasta. You are only one who will do this because you are a Tadi guy. Nice one, keep it up! We Tadi guys are all proud of you. You have really made my day !!

Then I heard the Robert Mensah had arrived at Koforidua with Sunday Ibrahim one Sunday in his new price vw beetle We chased them all round just to catch a glimpse! My confidence has never fallen
I saw Robert Mensah when a kid a game played between Liberia and Ghana and Robert Mensah was in the poles for Ghana. Ghana won one goal to zero. I still remembered he had on a cap. Dolobaipuism
Robert mensah goal keeper number .its great to watch this and finally see kofi Anto.we use to sing that song growing up .he was murdered in tema community 7 whiles trying to seperate a fight. Legend have it that he saved a goal when ghana played india in the legendary 1-100.That famous save he made ,the ball turn into coal pot. his coffin was placed in the goal post during a match before his burrial.the coffin still made crucial saves that day .the lengend still lives on even till this day. What a great soccer icon that needs to be immortalized.
Thanks a lot's, but let me ask one question, where is the Minister of sports, shame to Ghana 🇬🇭 they have forgotten all thier heroes, they couldn't remember them on what they knew is corruption
I don't like your politics, but I like your documentary. Keep bringing us quality documentaries. I like how you interviewed everyone connected to the case. Keep up the good job.
This is a great job Blakk Rasta. Thanks for a wonderful well researched documentary. My children can one day learn about this man and know he was not one of our many Ananse Stories. Thank you.
I remember that game about Kala taking the penalty and miss I was ten years old at Kumasi stadium I miss Robert even since I moved to USA for over fifty years He was a great man
Blakk Rasta, may Jah bless oyu so well, that, every part of this documentary is soo detailed and vivid to the core, I know this didnt come easy but watching it is so easy and emotional, tears keep coming
I didn't come to meet him but I am told he was a goalkeeper extraordinaire very magical wore cup when in the posts and could dive like a cat and can throw the ball back to you as the striker.but can't score him..he was Africa No 2.he was the national goalkeeper and also played for kotoko and abusua dwarfs may his soul rest in perfect peace
Blakk Rasta must be awarded for this documentary...he did not live any stone unturned. Best documentary in our time. The football journalist couldn't do anything like that. Kudos ma guy
Blakk Rasta, thank you so much for this priceless and well researched Documentary. May the living learn from this precious documentary and have a positive impact on the society.
This is really sad. So GFA was not aware the cemetry was going to be turned into real estste lands and therefore could not had helped the family to move her body to another cemetry. This history is a disgrace and a shameful one to Ghana. Now there is no place where we can trace his final resting place. I can't believe this is the story of Robert Mensah.
Wooow I just chanced on this documentary, my grandad told me a lot about his friend Robert, they were both Robert Mensah. Rest in peace to these friends
Over to you JOE LARTEY, Ghana legendary sports commentator, RIP SIR Robert Mensah, those era I believe there was another Samuel lamptey chubby athletic of Accra hearts of oak
Oh Ghana our Mother land it’s so sad to fight and die for this country. It’s never worth it because the country doesn’t honor her heroes at all so sad. Robert Mensah rest in peace.
Very good research into our own history. This is what as Africans we should be doing. But I can see slight changes in the story of his death given by especially those in Law (lawyers)
for someone as the best goslkeeper in africa we have nowhere to go anf see and mourn this great man as in america we should have a hall of fame to hounor these great men and women as they say lest we forget them not!!
He was nicknamed "Africa Yashin" . And voted Africans Best goal keeper in 1971 after winning Africa Cup with Asante Kotoko. But unfortunately he didn't live to receive his honours from CAF .The award was presented to his son after his death .
No wonder Carr was a good keeper, too. Mensa is not the world most controversial goalkeeper. I don't agree. I suggest the Cape Coast stadium could be named after him.
Beautiful well-made documentary. But the ending is so sad and is reflection of us as a people. So backward and disgusting! No grave for Africa's Number 1 goalkeeper? His posthumous son and his siblings were neglected and left in abject poverty despite the many promises?
He was killed in Tema community 7 near the community football park. Hearing this when I was growing up I thought it was just a joke but realised later ot was true. Tema in those days was very hot in terms of business and luxury mainly because of the main harbour that brought foreigners there.
The best documentary so far in Ghana.. Well researched !
