I am Nigerian and I'm moved to tears cos my late father (He passed when I was 15) used to tell me about Baba Yara and another Mohamed Salesu. Watching this makes me miss my dad dearly. RIP
I had the privilege of seeing him play. I watched him play for Kotoko and Real Republicans. At that we used to say Baba Yara,Gyamfi, Salisu when Black Stars are playing. I also remembered when he got accident when traveling with his team mates. If not the 1966 coup, he may still be living but paralyzed. He married a beautiful woman Patience. Although, a sport stadium was named after him, I still think that we Ghanaians don't take care of our sport hellos. I would like to see these sport figures honored. C.K Gyamfi, Aggrey Fynn, Dogo Moro,Odamtey, Frank Odoi, Osei Kofi, Kwame Adarkwah, Kwesi Owusu,Agyemang Gyawu, Seikon,Robert Mensah,Mfum and others l could not named. Some of them l forget to spell their name well because it was a long time because l lived in America for long. Thanks
Sports Obama.. Thank u so much..he's my grandfather but i never had the chance to watch his high lights.. all is to hear de story n his pictures.. am still playing though i don't have his skills but..this will inspired me a lot..and i promise to make him proud in sha Allah..may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace
Baba Yara is the lord in Africa football. Legendary may you rest well. Today I shed tears watching this video at where he arrived at the airport paralyzed. Am sad of loosing this great legendary . Thank you Sports Obama but please write a book about him because he is gone but not forgotten
Eeeii my Brother, whazz up?How you been?I think you should have your own RUclips channel by now. We will join you.Your comments is always decent. No disrespectful comments.keep it up.✌
Who's here by now watching to this historical football video of the legend baba yara & notice that dogo Moro hs a facial homologous to the late music artist doctor paa bobo paa....... 🍁
Goosebumps all over me .. Such a phenomenal player so sad his life was cut short. R.I.P he could literally terrorize any defence in the world... Thank you Obama for this documentary keep enlightening us on our legends.
Allahu Akbar, the good always die young and the wicked inherits the earth. I blame GBC for not making enough programmes about these heroes when it was the only TV station in Ghana in the 80/90s. Been an early 80s born, I thought I knew so much about football and thanks to this very documentary, I have realised I know nothing at all about footy in my own country. The guy was like the president with the whole of Ghana going to the airport to welcome him back from his treatment abroad. Jah bless!!
See how his own friend players celebrating him and saying good things about him. If it was today, pride will never let his own friend players say good things about him because we all players why should I praise someone we all played together. African problem!
What a great player. This explains the shame of tribalism, am sooo happy that such a great public edifice is named after him. Rename Accra sports stadium after ohene Djan.
Very very insightful documentary.Baba Yarah was the Messi of his time.He was quite talented. Ghana and indeed Africa lost a gem to the cruel hands of death on that fateful day of the accident that led to his incapacitation.
I now see one of the reasons why most Ashantis hate Nkrumah... There are more histories about Ghana we still don’t know... God bless those who dedicated their time to put this great work together... Ghanaians will rise u high and bring you down... I’m sure his accident wasn’t even normal... I’m pained... this is so sad age 33😭😭😭😭😭
It was surprising how the Ashantis would allow their big edifice like Kumasi sports stadium be named after somebody from the north ‘Baba Yara” …but it all make great sense now…..because we know these Kumasi folks to have some Pride bi ehn…!
Sweet & sour. I'm marvelled but sad too. Great documentary by great, knowledgeable, eloquent & skillful people in their respective fields. Well done to all the brains behind this. All hail the king of wingers, Ousmanu Maada (a.k.a Baba Yara)
Oh my God, Dogo Moro still alive???? Thank You Lord. This is the name I will never forget as I use to here it all the time in Ghana sports commentary in the 70s. Very First time seeing his face.
Not thats a football fan but the documentary is one of its kind....I salute the king..Ghana shd pay attention to the fallen heroes that once took the name of the flag Higher🤝
The Legendary Baba Yara, we loved and admired him. I was priviledged to do an X-ray on him before his glorious departure from this Earth to his Maker and how happy to see him physically
A great and talented life was lost at such a tender age, it's unfortunate that everybody else from the whole team is (WAWOU) except one veteran footballer, may he live long and may the souls of the deceased rest in peace. Does the government on whose mission he died for did something for his family after his death , and did he got any children of his own ?
Excellent documentary about an icon who was way ahead of his time. Its great that 50 years after his death his legend lives on and a new generation is learning about this gifted and phenomenal man.
This is brilliant. Top stuff Saddick Adams. Baba Yara's story is eye-watering. The King of Wingers' genius cut short at a very tender age. Real tragedy!
Wow great documentary of all time Baba Yara documentary is the best of all time I shed tears at the ending part of the documentary. King of wingers rest in peace great legendary . Is now understand why Kotoko wins always thier matches at Baba Yara sports stadium
Great work by Saddick Adams. Am marvelled by the amount of work you put into this. This is one way we can promote our sinking football. Keep the good work up. I hope this wins you some international awards
If we don't Tell our story No one will Do it for Us . Such a great history to inspire the youth of Africa. Nothing is better than home remedies is time for Africa to Rise.🙌
Douduo Ankrah was the.goalie when Baba Yara was was playing with the Black Stars.????Amaxing history of ghanaian football. The best player in Africa.????
I'm crying. What made it worse was when the mother told Yara's brother to give her back her breast before following Yara's footsteps to become a footballer. What a sad end to a talented and a great player
There’s should be a movie about African legends like this to let the young ones instead of all those ugly and useless kumawood movies just wasting time
LESSON: Let God (Holy Spirit) guide your steps and direct your destiny. Never try to please anybody at the expense of God Almighty. Baba Yara would have gone to Egypt and never listened to anyone. I love you Baba Yara...my greatest soccer star and my ultimate hero in the history of Ghana football. R.I.P. *(BEST from Abuja, Nigeria)*
I am Nigerian and I'm moved to tears cos my late father (He passed when I was 15) used to tell me about Baba Yara and another Mohamed Salesu. Watching this makes me miss my dad dearly. RIP
