Asha, this is a great video. There are several roller rinks in my city, and the other day there was a guy who was trying to jump and touch this decoration which was hanging from the ceiling. Of course he flailed and landed on his butt! He also was doing something that you touch upon in many of your videos: 'Skating as fast as he can with ZERO ability to stop!' Peace to you, Asha! ;)
Ahhhh you can spot them too! Stay very far away from them. They will plough into you as a stopping method and then apologise as you are on the ground. Learning to skate (and stop) proerly is not just for your safety but for all those people around you. Let's all just get our basics nailed so we dont kill ourselves or eachother (or our butts).
@@SkatefreshVideos OH MY GOD YOU REPLIED !!!!!! I just want to say how much I LOVE your videos. I bought my roller blades recently and I keep watching tutorials to learn from there. Anyways my practicing on rough surface made my whole body vibrate so much and I actually tried it on the road as I really want to inline skate on the road and just move around but the place I live in now has really rough roads so I had a lot of vibration along my entire body and my roller blades kept stopping by themselves because the surface was extremely rough.
I wonder what if someone watched this on mute without subtitles, saw asha do the windmill of death and went, "cool, i am going to practice my jumps now". A lot of ifs but it could happen 🤣

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. There is more about that in the Advanced online course by Asha here skatefresh.com/product/how-to-skate-advanced-level-full-course/ If you keep falling that's probably because you are placing more weight forwards or backwards when you land. Practice jumps on grass hundreds of times until you feel confident, do it on the same spot, not trying to cover a distance. Focus on the fact that your body needs to go vertical, not forwards, you go up and go down in a vertical motion.

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. Yes, it's pretty normal. Some people need more time, that's it. Try to do it on grass but without rolling, practice 5 min. each time you go out, ideally at the beginning of your session because this may demand quite a bit of energy (depending on age). Practicing on grass will make you gain confidence. Once you feel comfortable enough you go to the tarmac and do the same but again without rolling. Finally one day when you are not scared anymore you try it rolling. That's how you should learn, progressively. And don't need to start with a jump, just a hop.
Bless you. Yes our weight can go into our heels any time we shift our butts back or straighten our knees (or both). But noticing the cartwheel of death is important as you can then reach forwards and stop it! Otherwise it's backwards fall and that's always risky.
Oh Darling I'm sorry ......only poking 😘 I love your videos....really helped me. I'm 2 weeks in now just got my concrete grip wheels and sorted out the proper camber, I'm spinning and going backwards , Thanks to you 😍
Ouch, hope you didn't hurt yourself. Many people 'stay low' but still have their weight on the heels and still fall back so it's often a more subtle distinction. How's it going with your new online course? Let me know what you think of www.InlineSkateCourse.com
Yeah I guess I should say stay low and torwards the toes. I still find myself going on the heels when I'm cruising in scissors. It's tough. Been doing lots of squats and lunges trying to build the muscles in my legs. My weight and stance builds with every session. It's a beautiful process. For anyone reading this try Asha's inline skate courses. They are so thorough and in depth and go way beyond any youtube video. They are worth every penny if you wanna learn to skate easily with the correct techniques and progress very quickly.

I did the windmill of death even when not jumping. Lol

well anywhere has better skate venues than cornwall haha

I'm spinning and going backwards ,
Thanks to you 😍
P.s I'm 50 in December.....last time I had skates on was over 40 years ago 🤣😂🤣🙄

Hi. This is Sergio from Team Skatefresh. You can find them here www.k-deer.com/
fruit full
*"I really like falling on the back of my head or my ass"* Wow, Asha, you do like swearing!
?
Yeah going over backwards is the worst. Did it twice before realizing proper weight and stance. Stay low
