- Please do listen to the end of this one because there's clips of 3 new songs!
Here's a nice short final episode for you and I promise never to mention my changing voice again ; ) I hope you have found my podcast helpful.
We did not set out to educate. Our hope was to help inform those who enjoy listening to young boy voices and we wanted to create a source of reference for all the other boys who will go on to navigate their own changing voice as well.
And back to the songs! I recorded them in April with the wonderful Producer Simon Hanhart (who has mixed all my songs) and even though they are NOT quite finished yet I thought they were still good enough to let you have a listen. They are still very much a work in progress but as they are more recent than any of my other recordings, I thought it would be good to let you hear how well my voice is settling now too.
Thank you very much for tuning in to my podcast, this one is a bit different, especially as we didn't all quite make it in to the same room like we did before and there's some more general info that you might not want to miss.
Doing it this way though meant I got to see how me and all my guests had the easy bit, we just had really nice chats!! I think it's fair to say that all the extra work needed after that, to actually turn those chats into each episode, took a lot more work than my mum realised it would but we are still very glad we persevered.
A HUGE thank you to EVERYONE who has contributed to this project and here's to the next one!!!!

Just a bit later than planned for this one! Sorry about that. There’s 3 clips of my NEW SONGS though so hopefully it was worth the wait 🤗 They’re not quite finished but there’s some news from my mum in this episode too. Please do check out the show notes as well, there’s lots of useful info and links and I really hope that you have enjoyed my podcast. Thank you so much for listening.

Curious to hear after the break (not of the voice) whether you could really hold back from singing. Sing on, it is great to do and you are great at it.

Cormac and family I am so sorry to see the end of these Podcasts. You have no idea what it actually means to this Old Man from Maine. This was absolutely stunning. Cormac one thing you must always remember is Positiveness and never Negativeness. What I just heard is the most truthful from all of us. I love your Mom's comments in supporting you and you dad. Cormac you Stole My Heart away from the piano. There will never be another Cormac ever. Sorry to state this but tears did role out of my eyes as it was just so sincere to hear from you both. Something that I am not proud of. Cormac, I have listened to you for a very long time and I know what is inside of you to sing to the world. Some day in the future you will and shall unlock this. Boy, I surly wish these Podcasts could continue. Cormac, believe this much, you taught me a great deal as well. I am glad that you are taking a break. But whenever you come back to world PLEASE SING TO US once again. I understand what you are going through presently. PROMISE me that you will never give up singing and that is all I ask of you. You broke my heart today with your comments. The world knows you now. I have never been so Blessed in my entire life and stealing my heart at the same time. My very Sincere Blessings to You and your Parents for what you all have given to me in my old age. The Old Man from Maine, Brad

Cormac, I just listened to this episode six, really listened. It's an exceptional summary and conclusion. The sneak peaks, wow, they swept me off my feet. Your voice is beautiful as ever. And now it's full, voluminous, and totally rock steady. No wobbling, I think you called it. I knew a little about what was coming from the video you sent me after your birthday, but what a surprise this was 😂. Thanks again for this insight to all involved 🙏🙏🙏🥰.
Thanks a million 😀and yes 🙌 finally a studio version of that song!! The hardest I’ve ever done would you believe! But glad we stuck with it 😊

Well done Cormac, Alison and crew for this series of podcasts. The three little excerpts at the end sound wonderfully intriguing! I look forward to hearing them in full when they're ready for release. Have a wonderful, relaxing summer, Cormac, and come back refreshed and ready to plunge into the challenge of GCSEs. I'm sure you'll smash them!

@@CormacThompson Aww---thanks Cormac! I know exactly what you mean about all the rain. Enjoy the sunshine!
Those three little teasers at the end are already showing an incredible degree of control; it certainly seems you've taken your new voice by the horns and are running with it.
I’m certainly trying and I’m enjoying it again now too hearing myself when it wasn’t as stable wasn’t great for my ears! Or any one else’s really 😅
Thank you so much for opening up about the boys' voice change. I hope many teachers, directors, parents, and boys listen to this series and learn to appreciate their many voices.
Thank you Larry 😀it’s something I really wanted to do 😊
The podcasts have been totally CORMACHIAL. Have a Phuntastical summer you deserve it. If anyone ever tells you that you put too much cheese on your Mac & Cheese ignore them you don't need all that negativity in your live. Thanks for all the great music I'm looking forward to more. Signed; Olde Phart 👴💨💨💨💨
ok!! i dont think i have ever actually eaten mac and cheese but at least now i know what not to do 😂😂and you're very welcome indeed thank you for all your support too 🤗🤗
Oh Cormac, I am so looking forward to hearing your new songs when they come out. Your voice is sounding even richer. You are right to take a much needed break over the summer months, to be able to give a little more time to your studies. I have enjoyed listening to your podcasts and know that you will continue to sing. Singing is part of who you are. I do hope you will share more as and when you have the time. A great big thank you to your mum as well for all her input as well as to the others on the team who support you.
It was very exciting to be back in the studio again I really enjoyed it. I’m really looking forward to our holiday in July now too 😊thank you for supporting me all this time 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for the podcast. I ♡ sneak peak new songs. (Bye from the Netherlands)
Thank you 🙏🏻 glad you like the sound of where we are going with the new songs 🎶😃
Hey Cormac, haven't forgot about you been in hospital. Home now. I'm going to be watching these podcast over the weekend. Still playing your CD and I love the little snippets of the new songs. They really sound brilliant. It's been fun chatting with you and Mum by E-mail awhile back. So you will be doing a new album by the beginning of next year? Kregg from Phoenix
Hi Kregg I hope you’re feeling better 🤞 no plans for a third album I have a very busy year coming up with official public exams to do at school! I’ll release each song individually and try to find time to record some more but I might not be able to I will just have to see how my studying goes!!!! I’m not a fan 😅 my mum explains in the podcast too that I won’t be recording any more in the summer holidays this year I just need to take a little break
@@CormacThompsonWell yes a break indeed. You absolutely deserve it. Put the music aside for now and just enjoy your summer and get through your school. Those three new songs I can't wait to hear them complete that'll be really nice when you get a chance to release those. So listen keep in touch and tell Mum I said hello. Cherish mum and dad every single day Cormac. My mum has very bad dementia at the moment and we don't know how much time she has left. But we're all doing the best we can. All the best to you and I know I say this a lot but I'm still playing your CD and I still love everything song😊 Take Care my friend. Oh by the way I'm doing just fine. All's well.
I have enjoyed these podcasts, more than I can say - so fascinating and informative and I really looked forward to each episode. What a tribute to hear your team speak so lovingly and so highly of you and your extraordinary talent. You are a treasure, Cormac Thompson, and it is a privilege to witness your journey. 🥰🥰🥰
A very big thank you for all your help and support too i love to read lovely comments these are all what my mum meant in the podcast too its very rewarding and encouraging 🤗🤗☺☺😁😁
Have a great summer. I'll be here when you post again.
Thank you 🙏🏻
This has been such a fascinating podcast series. I'm sure that it will remain a wonderful reference for boy singers for years to come. Thank you Cormac and everyone else for putting in all the effort. Best of luck Cormac with all your education over the next couple of years, and I look forward to hearing more music from you when the time is right and if you wish to continue singing as an adult. But what ever happens, you should be so so proud of what you have achieved. Take a break, focus on your education, but I'm sure that great things do remain ahead for you. Although I only stumbled accross you in late August last year, I can absolutely say that your music has made a real positive impact in my life. Thank you.
I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed listening and thank you for your lovely comment 🙏🏻 I’m looking forward to the summer but not so much to the exams after that 😅
Very impressed with your initiative in developing and presenting these podcasts - well done!. Also, the very moving and heartfelt tribute to DDay that you had on Facebook was stunning! Truly remarkable. Have a great summer.
Thank you George 🙏🏻 I’ve enjoyed doing them very much 🎶
This has been a great insight and I'm so pleased that YOU are all pleased with the result. You should be proud of yourselves, Team Cormac. 🗣🎶. I'm so looking forward to what comes next for you. Have a great summer. 💖
Thank you Trish 😀really glad you’ve enjoyed this and I’ve not forgotten the need for emergency lieder at some point too, I’ll do my best 🙏🏻
❤🙏
😃😃
Hi Cormac, Well as you say "That's a wrap"... for Season #1. You are and will always be #1 in my book ❤and I am looking forward to Season #2 (or Series #2 whichever you choose to call it.🙂) Thanks to you, your mum, Martin, Matthew, Robbie and Max. (And of course your dad!!) Your desire to give back is exceptionally admirable. I'm proud of you for doing so. Please enjoy your well deserved summer vacation with family and friends. Enjoy your summer break from attending school. I'm guessing you, like many others, will be brushing up on your studies at some points during the summer. May God continue to Bless you Cormac. ❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗
Thank you v v v much for all your encouragement and support i really appreciate it i wish i didnt have to do any studying over the holidays but you're right unfortunately because i will! but i'm very excited for our holiday dads got some really fun things for us to do and i cant wait ☀☀☀☀☀
Hey Cormac, Since you are Anglican (I believe I'm correct there), I am guessing you might know "Once in Royal David's City" and "Of the Father's Love Begotten." The former I have heard done with a boy treble solo in the first verse, building up to a full choir and organ by the last. When I was a young boy, with a treble voice, we had a Nine Lessons and Carols service at my parish and a friend did the solo for that one. I did the latter, which has a high E and a low A as I recall. Well, anyways, it was quite the range and I loved that hymn and being the one who could sing it. After my voice changed, I moved into being an acolyte (something I had really wanted to do) but I still enjoyed singing, at least on my own. Hearing you, makes me wonder what might have happened had I sung in senior choir. Mrs. Canzoneri, our choirmaster/organist was a GREAT teacher. I can sing OK now, but my range isn't great, not like it was when I had a treble voice. Perhaps she could have helped me expand that range with my changing voice. Still, I am really glad that you share your experience with boys your age. I suspect that you and I would have gotten on well had we been your current age at the same time. I know I would have found your talent and your willingness to share your experience quite encouraging. Thank again!
Once in Royal David’s City, is a beautiful Carol 😀 I sang the treble solo first verse at a charity Carol service at Ripon Cathedral in Yorkshire in 2021, I loved doing this 🤗
@@CormacThompson I wish I could have heard you, Cormac. I loved that hymn as a kid because, well, it focuses on Jesus, the Incarnate Word of God, growing up - being a little boy like I was at the time.
..as I've said before: Putting down one instrument and picking up a new one.
Such a good way to look at it 😃😄
Please do a cover if I will go sailing no more.
I’ll look it up for sure 👍 thank you for the suggestion 😄
