    I wanted to make sure I could pack all my possessions, that is, everything I own, as an extreme minimalist into a carry on. This was to make sure I wouldn’t come unstuck at a later date by learning I still had too many possessions to reach the goal of only traveling with carry on luggage.
    A while back I lived with just 33 items that I could pack comfortably into a small backpack but I wanted to see how much space I had or if I was over my luggage allowance, when attempting to Pack All my 84 possessions. So in this video we discover where I am at. I did this so that if I decided I wanted less, I would have time to declutter intentionally, before the time comes that we depart. I'm now thinking in litre packing capacity rather than counting and numbering my items.

    The only thing post edit I think I forgot to include from my personal possessions aside from my bikini 👙 and consumables, that I pointed out in the video, is my headband & phone/ laptop Charger 🔌. Also side note: I accidentally clipped out putting my black vest in the backpack but it is in there. 😊

      May I ask you how long did it take you to complete this great and broad life project? I would like to do the same, it's been a while but I am still a long while to go I supposed. 😂❤❤❤❤

      @elmadas I think it’s taken about two years to get to this point. I think for most people to perhaps get to such a small volume of possessions, it takes lots of revisits and analysis of what we truly use. Along with being honest with ourselves about why we want to keep what we do. I think for many people a big life change like a move can make this abit easier in terms of motivation. It’s amazing how quickly we become used to it though. I look back on my first home tour now. Which would be minimal to many people but now it feels quite cluttered to me 😊 ❤️

      @@SagelifeMinimalism I admit that the process of revisiting and analysis it's very tiring... but I find your channel quite inspiring, hence I am slowly using your example to act :) Thanks again! 🙂❤

    I think a carry on suit case is preferable to a backpack because when you get to be older like I am at 54 years of age it can be a real hardship carrying that weight on your back. Having a carry on with spinner wheels that you can push along beside you on the ground is much easier especially as you get older!!!

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  5 месяцев назад +2

      True 😊 that’s why we were leaning (pun intended 😂) towards putting our heavier bulkier items in the suitcase… if we decide to share the case and just have a 28l backpack each for clothing…This one when packed only weighed about 2- 3kg because just clothing 😊 🎒 🧳

      @@SagelifeMinimalism you should and could each have your own spinner carryon suit case and personal item set up for when you travel as per this older gal does for when her family travels to Europe!!!

    Cool that you can fit all that in 1 case and a bag! Just a note about travelling with hand-luggage - some airlines have weight limits for hand-luggage, and some cases can be fairly heavy!

      I know it’s normally 10 to 15kg for overhead luggage from the uk, but this definitely doesn’t weigh that… I think it’s less than 10kg 😊

    For travel in the EU, what size litres wise is your suitcase/backpack?
    I have 2 years before I go on holiday for a week and I am trying my best to fit everything including a second jumper, into a 17L backpack. I keep going back and forth on it.

    What do you do about things like family photos and sentimental heirloom-type items?

      I will be doing a video about this soon but I did include them in this packing video. I have a few photographs I keep within my paper documents wallet which I packed. I also have a small sentimental item pouch approximately 8 x 8cm that I keep a few small sentimental items in 😊

      Normally I think it would but these are very narrow barefoot shoes and 2 pairs of sandals that I’ve squashed flat. I might be able to get one pair in the barefoot shoes. 😊

    I have found potassium crystal deodorant (the actual crystal, not a roll-on) does work (I do need to wet and rub on for 30 seconds).

      I use the wild refillable inserts as the crystal rock deodorant didn’t seem to work for me… I’ve also tried other soda based ones too that I have an allergy to… so I have to be very particular 😊

    what about the bed, plants, bedding etc, are you not counting those in things that you own? Or are you not counting them because you won't own them by the time you're traveling?

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  5 месяцев назад +1

      In my description and in other videos I explained. It is for the factor that you have said that yes, they will be gone by the time we leave but also all the other items I share with my partner. So I only have sole ownership of my personal possessions. Many extreme minimalists live in furnished or shared accommodation so I think we can only truly consider our personal possessions. Most people would require more than 100 items to fully live, ie bedding & pans included etc. About 6 months ago I did a video where I did count all our shared possessions and it was only approx 200 items. But I’ve also done a huge declutter since then so it’s probably about half that now 😊
