    This part of the hill country is very beautiful! I'm from Pearsall TX. , myself and my beloved wife would travel these roads a few years ago! We enjoyed the sites! Lost Maples and the road back to Bandera, just awesome! I called this place the Grand Canyon of Texas! My wife passed away four years ago, she battled cancer! She's in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ! I miss her alot! I haven't gone back to this area anymore since my wife passed away! I think it would hurt me to travel on my own! I enjoyed ur video! Keep on ridin brother! God bless you always and forever!

      I am sorry for your loss. It's always difficult to lose a loved one. This area of Texas is really beautiful and we really enjoy it. I hope you find the will to get back on these roads. I believe that your wife would want that. Thanks for watching my video.

We now get to enjoy some great ride footage of us through the scenic first part. Really enjoyed the content! Glad the gentleman wasn't seriously injured, I road the t.s. routes about a month ago. Didn't think they were bad at all but then again I'm from n.e. Iowa and ride a lot in s.w. wis. and are use to twisted roads .

      Hey Scott, thanks for watching my video. I have ridden these roads several times. I have just never ridden with 100 other riders. Im sure a lot of different experience levels. It's a matter of numbers. Better to ride it with experienced riders. Actually probably better to ride with smaller number of riders. Thanks for commenting.

    When they put up the guardrail a small group of riders were going down 337 and a guy and his wife hit the guardrail. The post broke his rib which in turn punctured his lung and he died in his wife’s arms waiting for the ambulance. They now have rallys to support ambulances closer.

    The screwed up thing about Google Maps. My wife and I can be standing next to each other and get two different routes. I have seen this a couple of times now. Just because the route is different does not make it wrong. When you left Walmart the group should have all left together and rode fairly tight. Then you just follow the road captain no matter what. Kelly B was the road captain. If the group gets split up then you need to rely on your Google Maps.
    I hope someone got footage of the crash. I cant believe members of your group are so far apart.

    • @billcarolstravelproject
      @billcarolstravelproject  Месяц назад

      @@richpuller1348 Hey Rich, thanks for watching my video, and leaving a comment. You are right about there being more than one way to reach a destination. When we travel in our RV we run 3 different mapping devices and at times, get 3 different routes at the same time. At the pre ride meeting the route was briefly discussed and some printed maps were distributed. Jack (Bogey) stated that it would be difficult to stay together. There were 100 bikes there with all different experience levels of riding. Most had never ridden these roads. Im not sure that Kelley was actually in the lead but I just waited in line to leave the parking lot. Groups of riders had already been separated by traffic lights. The group I fell behind took a turn that I did not anticipate. I instinctively turned with that group, but I knew they were on a longer route so I turned around, and went the route that I wanted to go. The crash was unfortunate. Besides that, the ride was great.

    • @richpuller1348
      @richpuller1348 Месяц назад +1

      @@billcarolstravelproject I have done about 100 group rides on roads i have never been on. The closer to the front the less likely you will get separated. The better riders and the more experienced riders usually move to the front. Less stress and more enjoyable in the back. In the back you better know where your going. Some in the back have no clue and they will get separated. If the guy in front of me runs a stop sign or red light so do I.
