Quick story Scott: I once listened to a farmer in Spain(oranges, backload), 'the best way back to town is . . '. Ended up driving across some allotments, me zigzaging in the unit, trailer, basically going in a straight line, taking the corner of multiple plots. Comes into town between 2 buildings, BOTH mirrors in. Drives across entire road and shunts several times to jackknife the unit so the trailer can clear the shops either side at T junction. Fortunately it was past midnight( no parked cars). MORAL : NEVER listen to farmers!!!!
Roger Blagdon what walk round check are you doing where your looking at the vents on your unit? Cause personally after checking the lights are functioning I pay little attention to the cabs body work. Unless it was blazingly obvious your not gonna see it
Plenty of trucking vlogs going up this week from all of us vloggers, should keep everyone entertained for a while at this uncertain time. Keep safe everyone.
Sweet, sweet traction! Sweet, sweet Tarmac! Sweet, sweet motorway! I bet you were pleased to get on to something solid Scott, just goes to show that when Bockham Lane was first constructed it was for nothing bigger than a horse and cart! Stay safe son. We lorry drivers all have days like that occasionally and with what's going on at the moment the country will depend on us even more.
Love this video, I listened to one of your videos on the way to work this morning about your first time driving and I couldn’t stop laughing. I even told my work colleague about it and she laughed too. Your awesome ❤
Another cracking vlog Scott, well to watch, not so much for you!! Well done for keeping your cool as much as you did! And hindsight is a wonderful thing, we can all look back on situations that we would have tackled differently, but when your on the ground with the customer in front of you, it’s never so easy!! Keep up the good work and keep safe!
Yes Scott i've put my trust in the farmer on numerous occasions over the years and yes ended up axle deep a few times, so glad i only drive class 2 wagons in my old age. Take care young fella and keep up the good work.
It takes days like that to appreciate the good days and its a good video for new hgv drivers so that new hgv drivers can see that pearshaped days happen to experienced hgv truckers too but many truckers wouldnt have got back to yard in driving time after having a day like that and its how a driver copes with a day like that too because a new hgv trucker could let a day like that still affect them halfway through next week but an experienced trucker switches pff after shift ends and starts the next day as fresh as a daisy
"Sweet Sweet tarmac..." Love it while you can mate, doesn't last on Kent roads! I know, I live local to where you were in Ashford. And that Jn 10 was and still is a PITA!!
Speaking as an ex bus, coach and truck driver I am a total fan of the driving position these vehicles offer for visibility. So much so I cannot usually drive anything lower than a van or SUV to this day. I liked my stint as a taxi driver but that was mostly urban of course. Armed with a trusty Fireman's torch to pick out door numbers and addresses. Although my motorbikes are lower but that is a totally different kettle of cod. I used the Dartford crossing once with a mate in a van going to pick up some motorbikes. He thought we had arrived at Dover. LMAO.. Another time a relative of mine who doesn't drive much went to visit my uncle in Hampshire and ended up just outside of Birmingham. Mentioning no names of course.
I was delivering to ireland this week (I'm from the netherlands) and it litterly amazes me on were companies are located in the UK. To get to the company I was delivering too I had to drive through a small town and I was lucky I was in a rigid because if I had an artic I would have gotten stuck there.
Not a happy bunny? NOT A HAPPY BUNNY? You run the risk of making Rhod Gilbert seem like Lord Calm of Calmarthen! Great video, sorry you had the crappiest day.
Bloody hell Scott, that looked like a real pig of a job,as you said, not telling you the right story.you did what you thought was right.look after yourself mate. Stay safe & keep on truckin'.
The sound of relief in your voice when you got to the M20 i had to laugh keep trucking won't be the first and won't be the last day you'll have like that
Thank you Scott. Really felt sorry for you when you got stuck On top of your parking ticket. Glad it all worked out for you. Have mentioned it before you get on well with farmers. 😂😂 But sorry you had a bad day. But a great video as always. Thanks again. Hopefully you can have a great weekend. Take care and Stay Safe. John Whitehouse.
Great video. Reminds me of when I used to deliver animal feed to farms in an Artic. I also drove an MAN. Had plenty of scrapes😬. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Mate, credit to you. i wouldve went down there too, its a concrete track. Attempt the turn at the bottom and if i cant get in worst case scenario is ill have to reverse back to the main road. Wouldnt have done anything different. I know most drivers would be either shit scared to go down there, or simply wouldnt be able to get down there! Credit to you Scott, you're making us young drivers look good! XD
Another good Video. Passed you yesterday afternoon between Pont Abs and Cross Hands. You were heading westbound loaded with straw. 👍stay safe in these strange times. 🤛🏻
Holy crap! To see you that not impressed must have been a really bad day! Your straw farms are never good, I'd be red flagging that place in case of future deliveries! This is still a great vid Scott, and simply because you have the balls to show you're human and occasionally you have a bad day - without editing it out! Good on you! Obviously I hope you don't have another one for a long time! That guy should've turned up on time and common decency should've told you it was a different place! Grab a beer mate, you deserve it!
Just went past you today Scott. Was going North on Newtown Bypass heading back to England 🏴 was Flashing you mate. JMD WAGON. 45’ Reefer on me back. 👍👍👍
Ye had ye Sun Glasses on not a care in the world. 😂😂😂. Was a Lovely day to be fare. Love that Drive to Brecon me. Could do it everyday lovely scenery. 👌
One of these days I'll sort the EQ on my stereo. PC through the stereo and I had to turn it up to hear you. Then when you start getting unstuck you pap the horn a couple of times and shit up, the missus, the son, AND the cats xD
There a nightmare some of these farms I did a bit from a farm in reading when the hay shortage was on and was running ot to pembroke dock and this particular farm was on a tight bend and then down a steep farm track that had all been ripped up and was wet and trying to get back out even with a bit of weight was an absolute nightmare especially when its pitch black at 10pm at night , couldn't see a bloody thing 😂
Personally I think you handled it well considering your situation 🤘, if you had a tag with full air you would of been fine😎 us livestock boys can go anywhere with that😁
Haha yeah I have had plenty of days like this over the years. Also definitely put a hi vis flag on the back of stuff like that, if someone runs into it the police wont just say oh well to you. One of the worst offenders for that were plumbers with small but long bits of pipes hanging off their vehicles, extremely dangerous and scary when you pull up behind them then see a metal pipe point straight at either your groin, stomach or throat that you hadnt noticed while in motion.
Just unload or load on the road. There’s rarely any need to follow instructions from customers. Live & learn. Good footage thou, great entertainment Scot. Can’t see why you’ve got more subs ! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Don’t take Artics off road, without getting in customers vehicle & taking a tour first of the area & delivery location. Heard a story of removals company, moving customer into new house. This place was so narrow, with false roads that lead nowhere, other than to a ford or hump back bridge. Customer said, to driver, on phone, whatever you do DO NOT turn of main road, driver was like, just leave it to us, we’ve been doing this for years. Turned out driver did turn of main road & lorry was stuck for two weeks & had to be crainned out. I was in 7.5tonner & mirrors where folded in & location was on the side of a hill. Never trust customers who are new. You getting stuck was nothing really.
Hi Scott thank you for another great video , can you please give a shout out to my wife Jackie who's birthday and are wedding anniversary is on the 3rd April , thanks Scott , have a great weekend and stay safe and drive carefully 👍👍👍
So sorry you ended up in the dirt, some show no consideration for the driver over whether a load needing collection has a useable practical access for a haulier.
You're some Skin Scott. You pilot a great looking outfit but is it worth it serving these thoughtless farmers? They are on a different planet from the rest of us. As a class 1 pilot, I judge you as a hero and hope your boss appreciates you. Those lanes you have to drive on should be closed to HGV's. Let the farmers meet you with their kit near the main road.
Like I have said before, respect for keeping the cock ups in . Well done Scott. Farmers, ' yes yes boy we have artics down here all the time' they dont say they all leave with bits missing lol. Regards BasherMAN
NEVER... trust farmers, you'll get told all sorts of Bs to get you on site normally things like "we've had bigger trucks in ere all day, all the time". places like this are just about acceptable for a tipper lorry with high clearance and twin drives.. not an artic or anything else with normal road tyres.
I was just winding up to take the piss out of the 'Rhod Gilbert' of road haulage. Its what we do in this business right? Its called gallows humour. Through the first 5 minutes of video I was mentally choosing my adjectives with a sliding scale of venom. "Start gently Ian boy" thinks I, "then go for the jugular a bit later". Teach this young movie starlet a thing or two about the big bad world of agricultural lorry driving. Oh yes. By minute 5 I was ready to start unloading in the comments like a fully automatic AK47 with extended mags, loaded with F, C & T words. By the time the video got to 6:30 all those feelings had gone. That look in your eye. The slight quiver in your voice and the (as yet) unnoticed parking ticket stuck to the front of your truck like a big pointy hat with a 'D' on it. I recognised you were in stress overload and you didn't me or anyone else adding to it. By the time you paid the ultimate indignity of being hauled out arse first by a tractor in glorious technicolour, for all the world to see, I was actually feeling quite sorry for you. Nightmare
So if you DID your walk around checks that morning you would of seen the parking ticket..
You obv went the wrong way. Haha why would the farmer fuck you about??
Roger Blagdon what walk round check are you doing where your looking at the vents on your unit? Cause personally after checking the lights are functioning I pay little attention to the cabs body work. Unless it was blazingly obvious your not gonna see it
Plenty of trucking vlogs going up this week from all of us vloggers, should keep everyone entertained for a while at this uncertain time. Keep safe everyone.
Ooh, I'll be having a good look, now the bastard Covid's arrived in da house I've got a bit of time on my (thoroughly washed) hands!
Sweet, sweet traction!
Sweet, sweet Tarmac!
Sweet, sweet motorway!

you get days like that mate they make you appreciate the boring ones and provide you with exiting stories for your old age ,
Get plenty of stories in this job
this Premiere crap needs to stop, watched about 20 seconds of the video then POW ... delayed untill SATURDAY ... screw that
It takes days like that to appreciate the good days and its a good video for new hgv drivers so that new hgv drivers can see that pearshaped days happen to experienced hgv truckers too but many truckers wouldnt have got back to yard in driving time after having a day like that and its how a driver copes with a day like that too because a new hgv trucker could let a day like that still affect them halfway through next week but an experienced trucker switches pff after shift ends and starts the next day as fresh as a daisy

Very old fashioned constructions, not made for modern vehicles at all. Thanks for watching
Not a happy bunny? NOT A HAPPY BUNNY? You run the risk of making Rhod Gilbert seem like Lord Calm of Calmarthen! Great video, sorry you had the crappiest day.
Hi Scott thanks for another weekly upload hope your all good
Finally we’ve all been waiting until the day you’ve got stuck
Great short vlog Scott that was really tight up that lane.Hope you are well looking forward to seeing the next one mate be safe
Nice to see I was not the only driver to get stuck at the farm from Trevor iam the driver in the white super space who flashed you this week
Bloody hell Scott, that looked like a real pig of a job,as you said, not telling you the right story.you did what you thought was right.look after yourself mate. Stay safe & keep on truckin'.
I passed you yesterday on the m4 you flashed me in a ferris coach 👍 did thank you about 14:50pm
Didnt realise you had that many trucks thought there was only about 4 + erf, saw a photo of the s650 other day, looks nice
The sound of relief in your voice when you got to the M20 i had to laugh keep trucking won't be the first and won't be the last day you'll have like that
Scott ....you are brilliant.......and I say this as a Llannon man.
This was a very bad day indeed. All is well now though

As much as I detest these vlogs. Fair play Scott, I know the feeling. We’ve all been there, although a lot don’t admit.
Ya do get in to some spots Scot,
Safe travels , 👍
Spotted you twice this week Scott I drive a green red and silver v8
Great video. Reminds me of when I used to deliver animal feed to farms in an Artic. I also drove an MAN. Had plenty of scrapes😬. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Great video. Thanks.
great vid,but carry a red rag or warning plate for that hitch buddy. Lots of points if someone drove into it.
Yeah, your right Scot, I wouldn't have gone down there, and I used to deliver to farms all the time.
We all have "days from hell", and always when we least expect it ! Keep smiling and take care 😉
Another good Video. Passed you yesterday afternoon between Pont Abs and Cross Hands. You were heading westbound loaded with straw. 👍stay safe in these strange times. 🤛🏻

Lol noticed the parking ticket the first time you went in front of the truck thought it was just there as a joke haha
Ohh I wish 😂
One of these days I'll sort the EQ on my stereo. PC through the stereo and I had to turn it up to hear you.
Then when you start getting unstuck you pap the horn a couple of times and shit up, the missus, the son, AND the cats xD
I drive a low loader for a plant hire company these jobs seem a daily occurrence
Farmers can often be proper knobs!
Way to go Scott👍🏻
Scott did you get a receipt for those bio mechanical eyes you had fitted? They seem to be malfunctioning at gauging the weight of an object
Oh well you won't that again 🙅 keep vlogs up Scott.👍
You ain’t no Allie Knight 🤣 #TunnelTime
Good job VOSA didn’t spot that ticket Scott, they could have been funny about your walk around check
Hope you keeping safe, is your firm doing any supermarket deliveries yet? Also stupid place for a parking ticket
Very stupid place, blended in with the daffodils sticker. Not doing supermarket work just yet
tell me something better in life then finally seeing a road with centre lines

Oh dear Scotty's in a hole..

Scott where wld the fun be if. everything simple and straightforward 😀😀
I know the feeling when you get stuck in a bus...😂
Haha yeah I have had plenty of days like this over the years.

😂😂😂 that is just a tippers day.
I've had those days. You are just hoping you'lle get out with your skin ( and minimal scars on the truck,Lol! ) Todd the retired trucker.

Heard a few stories of trucks needing a crane to get out 🙈 definitely a load on the road job next time
Hi Scott thank you for another great video , can you please give a shout out to my wife Jackie who's birthday and are wedding anniversary is on the 3rd April , thanks Scott , have a great weekend and stay safe and drive carefully 👍👍👍
Is that the first time you've been taken from behind.
ooh dont pay the parking ticket lol.you are a key worker.im sure they will let you off this time.keep on truckin.
should have dropped your axle on unit it might have help with traction, same as if you are reversing up hill
So sorry you ended up in the dirt, some show no consideration for the driver over whether a load needing collection has a useable practical access for a haulier.
Another driver went to the same place a week later. He didn't bother to try and lead him up lol
Bruce Dibben yea , some of them there farmers are ass,,, thick as straw bales!!!!! (Pun intended )
Oh scotty the jobs you get

Regards
BasherMAN
Your lucky that your still being allowed to work, just think of the others that have no work right now.
hurry up Scott waiting lol
NEVER... trust farmers, you'll get told all sorts of Bs to get you on site normally things like "we've had bigger trucks in ere all day, all the time". places like this are just about acceptable for a tipper lorry with high clearance and twin drives.. not an artic or anything else with normal road tyres.
Whoever put that parking ticket there needs stringing up! what a stupid place to put it, it's supposed to be on the windscreen isn't it?
I thought so, blended in with the daffodil sticker. That's why I missed it
Farms are hgvs number 1 enemy
No way would I go in there...
Not even in a patronising way as I've been there many times myself at various farms across the country.
Next time it happens (and it will) it won't be quite as stressful a situation and even less so the next time (and the next time) it happens.
No one hurt, no damage to speak of and you got home. Alls well that ends well.
Greets from Bridgend.
Thanks Ian, Yes was certainly in stress overload that day! But lessons learnt and can look back and laugh at myself now. No doubt I'll get stuck again at some point too lol Thanks
What a shit hole that was Scott but no damage good lad It must have been a midget to stick it there he could not reach the screen without a ladder😀😀😀
