  • A look back to September 2018, a week away in the Highlands enjoying walked up Red Grouse on some new estates we plan to work with. A fantastic few days that proved a challenge with the gale force wind! With Grouse numbers quite low last season, we picked our birds and honoured any pairs, but still ended up with a decent bag.
    A fabulous experience of one of our wildest of gamebirds in dramatic scenery with a great team.
    Loved using my Merkel sidelock e303 game gun & the Fiocchi F3 felt No.6’s performed well on the birds at a good range.
    Highlight was Chef Pascal cooking the Grouse on the hill, when we took lunch. Perfect days. 👌👍🥃

    Did he just ruin the Teflon coating by cutting the grouse fillets in the pan. My wife would have me 😂

    Bird hunters know and appreciate the quality of the hunt you filmed. Probably scratched the Teflon but there is a price to pay for quality and reality. TO THE HUNT!

    Watching from the Canary Islands where we hunt Barbary partridge. Amazing video quality, and that foggy and wet enviroment its so different to me, I can't imagine how the grouses live up there.

    GWPs are the best breed to own, hunt and shoot over. I'm just kicking my 3 off the sofa and off to their beds now!
    Lovely film, thanks very much.

    Beautiful country! My style of hunting. Love all that short grassland lol. My dog would love it over there. All our grassland over here is head high or worse when I go after pheasant and woodcock here in Ohio.

    I have a Griffon and love to go out pheasant hunting on foggy -drizzly mornings. The scent holds longer on the ground and the birds seem to hold tighter in the cover. A little snow in the air isn't bad either.

    Everyone looks so well put together. Over here in the US, if we go to hunt, it's just whatever the heck we can put on.

      @@CervusUK You all look so dapper, Sir. Now, send one of those delicacies over here and I will see what I can do with one of those in the kitchen. I have a few pheasants in the freezer and those may be making an appearance for Christmas.

    I hope to be able to do something like this when I get out of college. It looks like a beautiful terrain and a nice time, my brother and I do some grouse hunting here in the United States but it is much different than this.

    Sadly little dog work, no points ?

    • @CervusUK
      @CervusUK  4 года назад

      Lots of points, sadly we found it difficult to capture on film as the dogs would be way out in front pointing. We would then walk through the dogs to flush the birds. Truly wild sport!
