All Might said it best: "Under crisis your body starts to move without thinking" or something like that People have jumped on highways to rescue a dog or a kitten, I guess for Woolie trying to rescue someone is the same as throwing rocks at a zoo tiger For Miles it's super stressful no matter if he's already seen some shit in NY where Spider-Man and the Avengers exist, because it's his father that is involved in the incident
"I've seen a blind guy bite a police horse! A puppy committed suicide after he saw our bathroom! I once bit into a burrito and there was a child's shoe in it! I've seen a hooker eat a tire! Another great single-player game that sold well without stupid microtransactions. They could've pulled an Activision and cut out the costumes as dlc crap easy. Not like I would be interested to even fork over a buck for maybe a Spider Gwen with actual voice and-no, stay down wallet. *I said stay down!*

NO SPOILERS There are definitely some suits that are sorely missing. The Venom suit they're clearly saving, Captain Universe, Spider-Phoenix, Bag-Man, Fantastic Four, Kain. That's just to name a few. Game could've really used more boss fights. That's about it
I mean.. Tombstone and Taskmaster aren't third acts, are they? But I agree otherwise - I really liked every boss fight though. Especially Doc Ock, that one was great!
The only problem I have with this game is that they dumped 4 out of 6 SS members too goddamn fast, I was expecting much more after that reveal trailer. Scorpion and Rhino have their own sections but they are still too short, Electro gets scripted chase scene, Vulture gets close to no time whatsoever. And then they don't even give them their own bossfights, they just pair Rhino with Scorpion and Vulture with Electro and you beat 1/3rd of SS in a single mission, which would have been fine if you had bossfight with each one of them prior to that.
Well its pretty clear the villains the series is really investing in will be ones like doc oc Looking forward to green and hob goblin in sequals And any other villains that were in peters personal life
I personally liked that how they did the SS boss fights. Think about it, Spidey has been fighting these guys for YEARS outside of Mister Negative and Doc Ock. Of course he'd kind of be at a point where they are pretty easy to deal with even if they all have upgrades from Ock. Yea it feels rushed but I think that's what they were going for when they throw you into Act 3. The city is literally under siege and you have to rush and fix it before they ruin everything. Its not perfect in its execution but I still found it very immersive to go through.
Spiderman didn't invent Kamen Rider or Super Sentai, Pat. Those existed before Toei's Spiderman aired on Japanese TV. Spiderman's main contribution to Super Sentai was the giant mecha. The first two Sentai shows didn't have giant robots in them. After Japanese Spiderman, Toei started using giant robots in Super Sentai starting with the third series.
I think another reason the story is so great is they got a actual comic writer to write this story, a actual writer who is known to be one of the better spiderman writers, I often say that the reason DC movies do subpar is that they don't actually get the writers who worked years on the characters to come in and help. Cough cough David Goyer!!!
I just finished this game like literally 10 minutes ago and all I have to say is that this is the perfect Spider-Man experience. Btw this is the best spiderman movie, fucking fight me
I'm a spider-fan, and this game did most of everything I could hope for. I like the little things too, like the spider-man 2 train reference or the new york bronze bull being replaced by Lockjaw (the right type of silly).
I used the Noir suit right away, then i switched to the black cat suit, then the spider armor mk4, then the 2099 white suit, then finally the Last Stand suit.
Yeah, this is one of those that I think will be in the pile of "wow, I had a solid time with that; let's never play it again" games. Gameplay-wise, it generally feels great: from swinging to the acrobatic combat, it manages to nail the feeling and look really cool as well. On the other hand, the activities they build on top of that strong foundation are usually fairly shallow variations of things we've seen in these kinds of games before. As Pat mentioned, the best thing they did there was not to overdo it with the quantity at any given time. Still, no activity stood out as exceptional on its own merits; it just felt good because the foundation was strong. It's a pretty common problem in open world games where you try to do a lot of different things and maybe end up sacrificing some depth in the process. On the story side, I enjoyed it despite it being incredibly predictable, even as someone who isn't a comic fan and never really followed Spider-Man closely. I think that comes to the characters being endearing, well-acted, and feeling like actual humans. For example, Woolie mentioning Miles making a dumb decision in that scene didn't bother me because it felt like an emotional one, though maybe it could've been acted with more urgency to make that come across better. The overall pacing got a little rushed towards the end, though, with your big bads all showing up and then being dispatched in a relatively short period of time. I understand the story wasn't really about them, but it still felt like more could've been done there. Still, a worthwhile story with lots of fun moments is nothing to complain about at this point. On the whole, it makes me really excited to see what they can do with a sequel. I'd like to see the time and effort they clearly put into making it feel and look right be thrown at adding depth to the other areas now that they've gotten that down. As it stands, it's fun to traverse and look at NYC in this game, but it isn't much worth exploring. Maybe that's something that can be addressed along with just some generally more interesting and in-depth side missions. As someone who loves stealth, I'd selfishly love to see that expanded upon. While I'm not fond of number grades, I'll still say solid 8/10 as a tl;dr, where 5 is decently average.
Idk what mat was talking about with web of shadows. Spiderman ps4 had that same mid way setup too. Where Peter leaves raikers and then everyone is infected and New York is destroyed
The MJ and Miles mission are imo fine, but then I don't mind breaking up core gameplay with side-missions. I can totally how they would kill the pacing for some people. The later ones are kinda BS, too.
i enjoy the feeling as my favorite man bug sparys his sticky hand goo all over new york while doing sick tony hawk flips in the air. such a great game for people with spinning and swining fetishes .

Is web of shadows the one where you’re based on the shield carrier, but nick fury is white for some reason, and all the villains are subordinate to sybiotes until you beat them and they become playable to the second player?
I don't know if it's the newer equipment they have, the fact that woolie is getting older, or some other third thing, but Woolie's voice has steadily become one of the most grating voices I think I've ever heard. Just about every trait of it seems specifically geared to hit that raw nerve in my brain that churns my guts to no end. It never used to be like that before, like before Liam left, so I really don't know where it's coming from, and it's getting to be a real problem for me. I don't exaggerate when I say it actively ruins listening to any of their podcasts for a lengthy period of time which really bums me out.
Could it be Woolie's recent insistence on using a shitty clip on mic instead of one of the good quality mics he used to use, which the other two still do? Because that clip on mic makes him sound AWFUL.
I think my only big complaint with this game is that puzzles are skip-able. Insomniac did that with the latest Ratchet and Clank game too (the shitty one based off the shitty movie). I get some people have a rougher time with them than others, but honestly if you're not confident enough that everyone can solve them to the point you add a skip button, I say just get rid of them entirely.
I may not have loved the side character sections but they didnt bother me too much. I did love the new MJ design though. SOOOOO much better than general heartthrob design to me.
I think the side character parts were fine gameplay-wise, but some of the setups were awful. For MJ, the auction and Norman's apartment were fine, but sneaking into a heavily guarded military base and trying to single-handedly foil a superpowered terrorist plot were mind-bogglingly bad ideas. For Miles, the only one I remember being a tremendously dumb idea was sneaking through a military checkpoint to get to work on time.
I platinumed the game a few days ago, though most of it was done in the first 72 hours after the game launched. I can honestly say that travelling around, beating guys up, and doing side missions is pretty fun solely because of how the mechanics work. However, DO NOT save the street crimes for last. Always do one on your way to other stuff; when you unlock other types of crimes, it gets really tedious to swing around a district in order to clear 20-25 of them. [IIRC there are 165 in the game]. SPOILERS BELOW TOO --- Spoiler: Peter Parker is kind of a dick at the end of this story and I hate it. Also Sable goons, literally the worst.
Hey guys just wanted to let you know if you do something like this can you please input a time stamp to where you stop talking about the game. Joshua Giordano that is beyond kind my friend but I cannot accept that I will get it in the beginning of next month thank for your kindness and thought.
Make no mistake - Spider-Man on the PS4 is *absolutely* a repackaged, more polished version of Arkham City. It doesn't reinvent the wheel or anything but it takes what worked and reworks it to fit the Spider-Man mythos. Most importantly, I *feel* like Spider-Man when I'm fighting dudes and zipping/dodging around the battlefield. It works so well.
The MJ sections were almost as bad as MJ herself. "How dare you say I shouldn't sneak into a compound full of armed mercenaries, you just want me to stay in the fucking kitchen, Peter!" Just a Lois Lane ripoff with none of the charm
I will always be annoyed by “this character is dumb because when stressed he doesn’t act rationally” especially coming from woolie “can’t drop his shield or know directions” Madden.

Really glad the "Last Stand" suit got in, it was only in one or two chapters and never showed up again but was always my favorite.
Seriously one of my top 5 moments in SM history from maybe 6 pages total and it made it in the game. I was beyond excited!
It is a really great suit also the suit does come back it’s just no longer worn by Peter it’s worn by the “Old Man Spider” Ezekiel Sims

I am a big fan of the Spider-Man Noir suit, I wore that thing like crazy. No matter how out of place I looked.

You know what, I also thought Japanese Spiderman started the whole Super Sentai genre, but I looked it up, and you were right. Good catch.

Zenotron Sentai without giant robots isn't Sentai, so for all intents and purposes it may as well have invented it

SPOILERS BELOW TOO

Spoiler: Peter Parker is kind of a dick at the end of this story and I hate it. Also Sable goons, literally the worst.
Tristan Hallihan dick to who? What?
Hey guys just wanted to let you know if you do something like this can you please input a time stamp to where you stop talking about the game. I wanted to hold off on buying because of bills, gas, food, etc. and I was trying to find where y’all weren’t talking about the game and I heard something I didn’t want to hear. Sorry for bothering you and thanks for your time.

Blitzcrank the Iron Golem when you get paid monthly and have to live in the city , pay to park your car, pay an enormous rent, pay for electric, gas, and food plus internet and college AND work 10 hour shifts then you can tell me that I had a week to pick this up.

What's the reupload for
Game of the year
all the symbiote talk have they realized the game has a secret ending..............
Woolie get back into warframe!
Of course Pat would be into the most boring suits, a la Yet Another Black Suit.
Disenchanted is fantastic and everyone should watch it
The MJ sections were almost as bad as MJ herself.
"How dare you say I shouldn't sneak into a compound full of armed mercenaries, you just want me to stay in the fucking kitchen, Peter!"
Just a Lois Lane ripoff with none of the charm
Its so competent it bores me. The combat is just meh.
You have no soul.
