This is something I will always love about Vegeta. At first he only wanted immortality, royalty, & power & would get angry if anyone got in his way for any of that. Now he gets angry if anyone gets in his way of his family. Even at one point sacrificing himself (during the buu arc) for his family. His character development is really cool.
Two of my all time favorite lines came from this movie. Vegeta saying this and Goku's infamaus "I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY MY WOOOOORLLLLD!!!!!"

"Goku may have had the better fight against Beerus" Well, this depends. Are you referring to Goku's first fight with Beerus on King Kai's planet when Goku was at Super Saiyan 3? Or are you referring to post-ritual Goku who had access to Super Saiyan God?
Objectively, if you are referring to Goku's first fight against Beerus vs. Vegeta's here; then you'd be wrong technically. Goku never landed a single blow on Beerus in their entire fight, while Beerus needed just 2 blows to stop Goku (and nearly kill him). Vegeta actually landed several blows on Beerus that actually caused some damage (maybe not a whole lot but still damage none the less) *and* Vegeta tanked a punch to the face.
So when comparing both fairly, when neither had Godly Ki or any form of Super Saiyan God; Vegeta did far better than Goku, despite Goku technically being the "stronger" of the two due to his Super Saiyan 3 transformation.
However, yes, it is true after the Saiyan ritual done on Goku to give him Super Saiyan God, Goku had a better fight with Beerus than Vegeta, but thats also an unfair comparison between the 2 because -
1. * Of course* The new Super Saiyan form would allow Goku to fight against Beerus more effectively than Vegeta who is still using just Super Saiyan.
2. You cant really compare (fairly) Super Saiyan God Goku's fight with Super Saiyan (enraged) Vegeta because of the distinct differences between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan 1-3.
The leap/gap in strength between Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan 3 is absolutely ludicrous, much less the gap between Super Saiyan 1 (regardless of enragement)
So while yes, naturally and obviously the Super Saiyan God will preform better than the inferior forms, I still feel Vegeta did better than Goku when you take away the obviously superior form.

Even in Super Saiyan 3 while we dont see Goku obtain the form for the first time, when we see him use it he is using rage just as much as in the other forms lol, this shows with his cocky attitude and whatnot lol.
The reason Goku cant use Kaioken in Super Saiyan 1-3 is because that form(s) induces rage in the heart of the saiyan which means attempting to combine Super Saiyan 1-3 with Kaioken kills the user. Not just Super Saiyan 1 "tHe RaGe fOrm" as you so ignorantly proclaim, *ALL* of the non-godly Super Saiyan forms, because *all of them* have rage.
The only reason Goku can combine Kaioken with Super Saiyan Blue (and possibly Super Saiyan God) is because neither of those transformations induces rage in the heart's of the Saiyans in those forms

Even after all these years, Vegeta can still surprise you, yet not surprise you by doing this.
The movie did it way better then the show. His reaction was immediate and furious, show dragged out his shock till the next fricken episode. It kills rhe moment.
Just two things
1. Piano start -> Beerus slapped Bulma
2. "Let me ask you, does a god like yourself ever experience fear?"
First time I heard him say that the only thing that went through my mind is "awww, he *does* care..."

This might be my single favorite scene in any media ever. Someone put it best. As a boy, you love Goku. As a man, you love Vegeta.
In any other movie or TV show, live action or animated, true love is shown in the most simple and basic ways possible. Kisses, hugs, maybe a gift or two, random acts of affection. Whatever.
Here however, it is shown in a much more unique way. Not saying we don't see Vegeta and Bulma do any of those things, but I think here it is a lot more meaningful. No hug or kiss scene could represent the love someone could feel for another than that someone feeling nothing but anger and unbridled rage after witnessing their loved one coming to harm and even going as far as to standing up to the enemy who hurt them no matter the risks or dangers of doing so.
It's pretty heartwarming and romantic to be honest.
Its crazy impressive that vegeta was able to draw blood on beerus as just a ssj2 when goku as a ssj3 wasn't able to even hit him.

It’s crazy to think Vegeta’s highest form at this point was super saiyan 2. Feels so cursed now that we’ve seen Vegeta’s blue (and purple) hair for so long.

Hands down the best scene from the movie but they never should have redone the movie for super it should have been left as a narrative opening.
I refuse to believe this isnt most peoples favorite scene from DB. Bulma may have flaws, but bulma and goku are the main characters since the only reason goku isnt a kid living in the sticks his whole life is because she found him. Bulma may be annoying at times, but if she gets hurt, that shit hurts me too. Dont be hurting her
The music makes this scene, they don't use these old sound tracks due anymore, which is why this scene is better than the shows version.

Vegeta being only SSJ and still beating the crap out of a destroyer for a moment (even if no real damage is dealt, but the fact he moves Beerus is impressive) just because he tapped into that rare ultra rage again is the reason I prefer this over the show version.
It's like his first vs Perfect Cell. Even tho he was entirely and completely overpowered by Cell he was able to charge an attack through sheer rage to the point where it almost oneshot Cell, something noone else came even close to.
You can tell Vegeta is serious when the piano starts playing.

Sadly with this movie, this was the last time we actually saw hype, badass fights like these which were all gone except for some part in DBS and major of DBS anime was missing the hype, emotional and badass fights and cool moments.

Dragon Ball was never only about gritty fights to begin with. DB and DBZ are too much different from each other thematically. DBS wanted to be a DB-esque DBZ but of course, there have been flaws.

Vegeta is op as fuck it's a mental block, whenever he lets his pride go he has an insane power increase, such as when he got super saiyan one which was him accepting the fact that Goku already hit it before him and after he admits he cares for Bulma after she's hit

I prefer this version of the slap, but the show's version of the fight, where even in Waifu Rage mode Vegeta is still easily bested by Beerus, and only after double-raging does he manage to slip two blows past him
i don't think some people understand that this man got SO ENRAGED he decided to smack the god out of beerus.
I know people like this version better because of how quick the slap is but i say the show has more impact because bulma does slap berus she yells at him and yes it takes him a minute to slap her but we get to see vegeta show his emotion about it, hes begging beerus not to slap her and when beerus does we get to see the emotiona l climb vegeta feels to go into a more powerful form and i feel its like a call back to when he sees cell kill future trunks. I feel like it gives vegeta more character.

In this movie and Dragon Ball Super, Vegeta just became the ultimate man. Bulma has the resources to support herself, and she actually might like the freedom that comes with Vegeta being very hands off. However, Vegeta in the movie and the series stood by her when she needed it the most.
There’s one thing you should never take from a Saiyan Warrior…HIS BRIIIIIIIDE!!!
