It's because there's only A, B, and C skill slots. To inherit that you'd need a Double-D skill slot, which isn't in the game currently ;)

Abdallah! Lon'qu has vantage 3 at 4*, its better to spend the 2000 feathers on a 3* lonqu than a gordan that can only get vantage 2 at 4*

You can use Lon'qu to get Vantage 3 at only 4*. Everyone probably has 2-3 of them laying around, good to utilize for the new inherit skills option.

Yep, that's why I gave my Nowi Vantage 3. Not matter where you attack from, she can tank the hit and retaliate. Or even counter first killing them. Vantage on units with both close and far combat skills like Nowi, Takumi and Hector is very OP.
And then give her noontime so she can get back some HP or moonbow for even more cancer

Yeah, but who wants to get rid of their Reinhardt when they can get rid of Lon'qu instead?
Nowadays you can utilize units made into combat manuals and you can inherit 4 skills at once, which is vital for inheriting tier 4 skills like Sturdy Impact, Fortress Def/Res 3, and Death Blow 4.
While I do have mixed feelings about skill inheritance, I see it more as a positive than a negative. The game is still a gatcha game, so even if you whale it all away you're not guaranteed to get the unit with the skill you want. Plus, it means that crap rolls aren't necessarily crap rolls, rather there's potential for skill fodder.
Plus, some characters have inherently bizarre/bad skill sets. I love using my Ephraim (I'm F2P so I want to use all the 5 stars I get) but he really doesn't need two skills that debuffs defense, especially since they don't stack together. Also, his IVs were -Def, +Res, so yeah, not the best Ephraim. But, now I have Defense +3 on him so that his defense is "fixed" and replaced one of his skills with Renewal because I wanted to try out a Renewal!Ephraim.
All in all, I think skill inheritance, although abusable, isn't as bad as people are making it out to be and can actually be quite good.
Ikr! with this new mechanic im actually really glad to have a lot of four stars since i can sacrifice them to my 5 stars. And 3 stars can also be used to get some low level skill or green skill easily

It may be look like only a new mechanic that makes a lot of OP unit become more OP
But actually tbh units such as Vantage Takumi/Hector is actually got some weaknesses
If you're smart enough (which is something you have to do in this kind of game) you can exploit their weaknesses
For example i have Desperation Sharena. Sharena speed is actually really nice, but the fact that she can take many hits its actually quite sad. but with desperation she can instantly doubles unit immediately when she is below 50% hp. You can also abuse it with Fury or A Wings of Mercy Olivia like the one in the video.
So in my opinion skill inheritance is kinda like a double edge sword. if you're smart enough you can abuse the mechanic to create OP units despite the fact you are a F2P Player
Kojikai Yuuki Really I feel like skill inheritance gives F2P players more of a chance because now they don't have to roll for that Takumi/Hector/Azura/Linde/Lucina just for a good team
Plus, people seem to be ignoring the SP cost. Inheriting a skill is easy, but actually getting enough SP to equip that skill takes a while. Plus, what exactly were we supposed to use with all that extra SP in the first place? Let characters have 1000+ SP with nothing to use it on because they have all their natural skills? Now I don't need to feel bad that Roy has been sitting on 1100 SP with nothing to put it on.
Free to play, meaning players who don't spend cash/ a lot of cash on the game.
Whales are the direct opposite, since they sink loads and loads of cash in the game.
Yeah! Sp is not something that you can get easily i mean sure you can get it from merging allies but still!
I think this is a great idea! Fire Emblem is now reaching a bigger fire emblem feel. It's almost like thinking about what you want for children in the last two fire emblem games except now we can customize our characters with new strengths in many different ways. Arena will get very interesting and I can't wait to see what other people use in Arena and how combos and such are implemented.
I am so sad because when I didn't know about skill inheritance, I threw out all my Lon'qu's, Odins's, Beruka's, etc., etc and now I want them back
I have a +Str Roy, he absolutely destroys axe wielders. He's 4 star level 28 and already has 35 atk. As soon as I get him Astra and upgrade to 5 star, he will destroy absolutely everything.
And that my friend is how takumi became a S++ tier list character
For -blade users, set assist to ardent sacrifice to make HP < 50% in first two turns (must have HP
Virvion has Astra, so you can give that to a unit, which give 150% damage dealt, then add it on a unit with killer lance.

i made the mistake of promoting gordin to 5 stars to pass vantage 3 to takumi but then i realized u could also use 4 star lon qu cause he can have vantage 3 at 4 stars. I thought u could only pass skills if the units was same color so i waste 20k feather on gordin :/

That matchup feature isn't even implemented into the game yet until next month I think.

This is a great update that I didn't even realize happened
When I was looking through the wiki tier list, one thing that caught my eye was Oboro who has Threaten Res as physical unit
With this update, that can be placed on an actual magic char rather than forcing Oboro to play support to magic

Lyn (+Atk/-Def) w/ Defiant Atk 3, Vantage 3, Spur Spd 3, Rally Atk, & Galeforce
Linde (+Def/-Res) w/ Spd +3, Seal Atk 3, Breath of Life 3, Rally Spd, & Iceberg
Nowi (+Spd/-HP) w/ Warding Blow 3, Vantage 3, Threaten Res 3, Pivot, & Growing Thunder
Hinoka (+Atk/-HP) w/ Defiant Def 3, Escape Route 3, Hone Spd 2, Reciprocal Aid, & Blazing Wind
Fae (+Res/-Atk) w/ Defense 3, Renewel 3, Threaten Atk 3, Draw Back, & Escutcheon.
Camilla (+HP/-Atk) w/ Darting Blow 3, Renewel 2, Savage Blow 3, Harsh Command, & Dragon Fang.
Kagero (+Res/-HP) w/ Warding Blow, Poison Strike 3, Threaten Def 2, Reciprocal Aid, & Glimmer.
Sakura (+HP/-Atk) w/ Renewel 2, Fortify Def 3, Rehabilitate, & Imbue.
Also just a tip for everyone to look up the different people with the said move you are looking for as some may have it at a lower rarity level like Lon'qu getting vantage 3 at 4 star unlike Gordin who is at 5 star.
All I know is I am glad it can be used from different colored units as in the ABC skills for easier use and that the person being used as a sacrefice doesn't have to learn the skill via Skill Points, they just have to be the star level you need.
I gave Owlen Robin's ability, and since when she initiates combat, she automatically doubles her opponent, so it charges super fast and destroys everything. I also gave Eirika Galeforce and Astra ;)
here's the best anti takumi setup:

weapon: blarraven+
assist: -
special: bonfire/ignis
A: triangle adept 3 (selena)
B: bowbreaker 3 (setsuna)

personally, the planned skills for my team are looking like this: a +def -atk (it hurts I know. RNG is cruel) lucina built to be tanky with fury, renewal and threaten atk, a linde with vantage, breath of life and MAYBE darting blow, though not too sure about that one, a takumi with vantage and the respective bonus unit of that season. also, when xander finally comes out he'll be getting sol, quick riposte and threaten atk

Laslow should be able to get Dance.
The SP requirements are so steep that it's often easier to work with the skills a unit already has, rather than rewrite it all wholesale. Yes, you may be able to do that with one or two units (especially Anna, Sharena and Alfonse, who you've had since 2-stars) but you can't do it with your whole roster. it's actually a pretty good way to balance things,IMO.
Dang ryoma with vantage 3 and pivot is amazing!
In hindsight, sending home those unwanted 3s and 4s in the past may have been in poor judgement...

It's better to go with Lon'qu for Vantage. He only needs to be 4 stars to get Vantage 3. Takumi is clearly a perfect candidate for the skill. But now I am curious how well it would work for Hector. I suppose you can't go wrong with this skill. I also thought of another combo. Vengeance + Fury 3 for some heavy damage.
Just started playing this game and there's sooo much to it..these tutorials are a necessity if u want to make of the most of the game
I think once the implementation of the arena balance changes occur, probably next arena cycle, I think things will be fine. Free players won't run into Vantage Takumi/Ryoma/Hector/Effies anyway so I think it'll be fine. I like that you can make less popular units like Cherche or free units like Ursula more powerful.
i don't think its necessary to give nino vantage because unless she's fighting another magic user, she usually gets one shotted

I've thought about that myself. I think it'd be great on him, honestly.
SusanSnapDragon i put threaten spd on him and was able to kill a Hector. Klein attacked 4 times and survived
I know it's too late... but for future reference, don't do it. Unless Klein has Close Counter, then don't give him Vantage.
If you think about it, this feature can be a way to give characters with bad skills good ones, thus making them good units! So personally, I'm all for it!
I'm trying to make a Nino team myself, and rolled a Ninian recently (prob gonna replace Olivia ). Could you recommend any other Nino comps w/ inherits. I've been using the same team just with Laslow instead (no Kagero and Hone speed).
I was thinking of putting lunge or wings of mercy on hector. Ideas?
I have a +Speed/-Res Klein. I have a spare Florina I'm not using, and was wondering if putting Darting Blow on my Klein would be worth it for the +6 to speed when attacking, rather than +6 to attack. Since it fully balances out Brave Bow+, Klein may be 4x attacking rather than 2x attacking with +6 attack each time. I *think* it could be more damage to use him that way, but I'm not sure.

well for my inheritances so far, i gave flowing ember to my 5 star nowi cause i had an extra 3 star robin i didn't need since I had a 4 star. I gave Olivia Sol ( i forgot who. and the rest were mostly duplicates or characters i dont need since i have a good user in that category or skills. I'll probably make a list of what i did later, cause im charging my tablet right now
What do you guys think about giving Laslow the Brave Sword? He has super high atk (even atk+ nature in my case) but low speed.
I'd say it's fine. Just be prepared for him to be double more often than you think. My 5* Hinoka is the same exact way, slow and offensive that can double.
Tem797 any slow character will do well with a brave weapon. They just become more prone to being doubled so its a slight risk

My question is; when a lvl 2 ability is "fine/acceptable"?
I mean, of course, we all want to have the lvl 3 abilities, but, most of them (at least for passive abilities) are from 5* units, and not many players(me) can afford that expense (on feathers).
Example: does is Gordin's Brave Bow good enough when you dont have 5* Gordin for Brave Bow+?

Gonna try out breathe of life combined with gale force on Cordelia 14hp burst heal for allies seems really good.
thinking of giving my (+def-res) Linde blarblade from Odin, Life and death 3 from hana, desperation 3 from shana, and threaten res 3 from oboro. I would give her escutcheon skill from Cain but she can't inherit it so my other options include moonbow or glimmer. I'd keep ardent sacrifice to help her reach desperation. 3Is that a good skill set or are there better skills for her?
I just gave ryoma vantage 3 from lon'qu. The dudes a beast now cause vantage pairs well with raijinto and defiant atk 3.

Question: We all know and love Effie. How does Brave Lance work with her, since she has Wary Fighter? Will she attack twice regardless of Wary Fighter?
yes. with wary fighter on she will always double hit with brave lance when she initiates. what wary fighter does is make it so no matter the speed difference, effie will never hit 4 times with brave lance. but she will always hit twice.

Always start serious team building ASAP. Don't waste your efforts and feathers on units outside your core of 3 units
Right now I have a Nino, with Bonfire, And Wings of Mercy 3. OP. Lucina with Pivot and Attack Badge. Sadly I got a Lucina with minus attack..
How about a Robin (M) with triangle adept and swordbarker? it sounds pretty awesome to me

obviously great for those who can spend not so great for f2p who have a limited selection of heroes esp due to fact feathers is so frighten hard to earn so most of us are way behind in hero collection.

Planning to give my +atk Cherche a brave axe. 56 attack and her only bad stat will be her resistance which I do not care about. Combine it with moonbow for an instant 2 attack proc lmo

3456Terminator definitely vantage, if he can get first attack he will ko most units. Also synergizes well with vengeance

I don't believe so since her weapon, the Sol Katti, is basically that ability.
When should I start looking into building good strong teams and all this? Should I wait until I have a lot of units, I only really got the game so that I could get more platinum points on my Nintendo.
Start thinking of units you enjoy. Research the Tier List to get started.
Lon'qu is gonna become a want on every wishlist because he's the only character that can get Vantage 3 at 4*
same as klein is the only one who can get death blow 3 at 4* and Cain is the only one who can get wings of mercy 3 at 4*
A good counter to vantage point TAKUMI which will most likely happen will be Robin being equipped with Break Bow and honestly I've been doing that and TAKUMI doesn't stand a chance.
Or a defensive tank w/vantage and distant counter/far-counter ability like Hector or Nowi. The CPU will then just attack, either losing to vantage or multiple hits from the countering. If it was PvP, then it'd become a stalemate until something wild happens.
Did a summon today and got two 4 stars and Klein, Julia and Prescilla all 5 stars. I got it was recompense for me not getting any 5 stars for my last three summons
I went on for 200 non-paid orbs with no 5 stars. On my next summon I got two Eirika's and a 5 star Sheena.
I'll wait until someone make a complete guide about skills inherintance, I don't want to mess it up

I think there are a lot of combinations that could be made aaanndd I'm don't wanna screw it up. So what I look for, not exactly right now but what I know people will made is, a complete moveset; not for a character but instead for a role. I mean, for example, a Nino that will hit hard; Nino is not the only that can made that role, there is Lilina. Robin, Cecilia and a lots of others character.
So the idea is, a moveset that indicates: this skill and that assist with this a, b, c skills can can make your magic user boost the attack absurdly; or for a dancer you need that assist, skill ,a b c in other to do that; or for a tank that can take a takumi with vengance a +3 advantage, you need that, this and these. At some point there will be movesets that will be "meta" (f̶o̶r̶ ̶a̶ ̶F̶E̶ ̶m̶o̶b̶i̶l̶e̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶X̶D̶D̶D̶) and when something is meta everyone, eeeveeeryone will have the same combination.
I think thats what I wanna wait for, unless I can get copies of heroes that I don't need so I can experiment myself. Don't get me wrong, I like your video, it's good start to organize and make a moveset oneself, but one day after the game update I sell the heroes I don't for feathers so I can do much.

I made my nino learn Darting blow 3, desperation 3, and Luna. Now she is a Goddes of Destruction ^_^
