    My grandad and I would watch MOTD and MOTD2 together every week, every season. Every season he said on 4-5 occasions that “no one new ever wins it. It’s always the same teams. It’s always Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal or Liverpool at the top”. He died of cancer July 2015. The following season in 2015/2016, Leicester City won the Premier League. I wish my grandad could have been around for just one more year to see how special that season was.

      That's because there's no good defenders in the league. Not one. That season had been coming for years; since the insistence of "playing out from the back". It's the only reason Liverpool and Man City have gotten 90+ points the last two years. Why else are Liverpool able to score 7 one week, then concede 7 the next?

    Even as an Arsenal fan (which meant this season was REALLY frustrating seeing how every other top side struggled and we couldn't capitalize), this was without a doubt my favourite PL season of the last decade. Watching Leicester win was incredible. Plus the final day of us finishing above Spurs helped :)

      What really annoyed me was how stubborn Wenger was.....
      Could he not see all we needed was one world class striker and a back up for coquelin, then we would've won the League

    • @august4222
      @august4222 3 года назад

      @@icandothisallday986 I don't even know if we really lacked a WC striker, but we should've for sure signed another midfielder. I'm of the opinion that Santi was our best and most important player during that era, and when he got injured, we really fell off. And with no one there to really back him up there, we suffered (Wilshere was injured for like the entire season I think, so the only one could've offered some of what Santi did, was gone.) I love Ramsey, but he wasn't really a good deputy for Santi. Maybe we could've won the league with an upgrade on Giroud, but he was really good, and if you look at his numbers with goals and xG and stuff, he really was a top tier striker in the prem.

    fun fact: From 2013 to 2015 every Everton v Chelsea match at Goodison Park contained goals from Steven Naismith -
    13-14 season: He scored the winner in a 1-0 win for the toffees
    14-15 : He scored one of the consolation goals in a 6-3 defeat at the end of August
    15-16 : He completes a hat-trick to seal a 3-1 win and pilling more misery to the horrendus season that Jose Mourinho had

    Idk 'bout u guys, but I see this as the beginning of the rise of Manchester United, because it's where Martial and Rashford came, and now they are huge players for us. And as I said, it's the beginning of the rise, because LVG didn't manage to do it, but Solskjaer is about to rebuild United and get us on top again

      @@LukasHillbrandt Look, man, I look at the Premier League from a neutral perspective. I'm a portuguese fan, I grew up watching a Manchester United with Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, David Beckham or the Neville brothers, and it genuinely makes me sad the fall from grace from ManUn since Sir Alex left. Right now, the best team in the planet, forget the Premier, is Liverpool. Besides that, you still have to contend with an awesome Manchester City squad led by one of the GOAT's in the art of coaching, Pep Guardiola. I can't see Manchester United winning a premier for at least 5, 6 seasons. Again, that's my opinion, and I'd love to be wrong, because I always liked United. But when you only have two/three world class players (I'm talking about both Rashford and Martial, and Pogba as well, if he wants to) that just ain't enough to win a Premier.

    • @LukasHillbrandt
      @LukasHillbrandt 4 года назад +2

      @@CultPersonalityOf You're right, but I didn't say that Man UTD is gonna win anything except the Europa League at the moment. I think The Europa League can be won by MAN UTD, but years will pass by until we are able to win the league or even CL. OGS is slowly guiding the team in the right direction, but it takes a lot of money to buy new players if we have to regain greatness. If United should've kept being among the best, then David Moyes shouldn't have been hired in the first place

    • @CultPersonalityOf
      @CultPersonalityOf 4 года назад +3

      @@LukasHillbrandt Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Moyes recommended by Fergie? But the issues with United are deeper than that, otherwise, Mou would have won the PL. I blame the management of the club. Who the fuck would sell Lukaku without bothering assuring a equally good option to replace him? The transfer flops are an every year occurrence, and Mourinho said it best, without eggs, you can't do an omolete.
