I've lived 72 years, heard bits and pieces of Caruso, then saw Mario Lanza in "The Great Caruso," later along came Pavarotti, and now this guy. He walks with greatness.

Jonathan is young and he demonstrates great potential. I see him to be ideally suited to highlight the beauty of true music as Mario Lanza did. Jonathan is coming into his own style and trademark and it will be unique. Until then, Mario Lanza is the greatest I've ever heard. He sang with an abundance of passion.

I had to watch this performance again and Jonathan is just 19 or 20 years old. Unbelievable how wonderful his voice is at this age, and now at 27 his voice is out of this World. Yet his personality is just as beautiful now as it was years ago. Truly, a kindhearted and humble man. ❣️

When the world lost the great Pavarotti I thought about all the great tenors that proceeded him and thought we may never be blessed to hear of greatness such as these men again. But I was watching AGT the night that Jonathan sang.. AND was in tears listening to his performance. Jonathan you are an amazing talent and I am sure the spirits of those great men are proud to have your voice to keep the world reminded of the joy that can be shared through song.

We have seen so many people hit the headlines from talent shows like BGT and X Factor then disappear in a year or so. Ladies and gentlemen I think this young man may just be the exception to that rule. He is destined for greatness in the coming years

Oh Jonathan, i again watched all the beautiful auditions of You and Charlotte and i did rewind the YTplayer countless times just to stay in these wonderful moments of your music and singing ... while, of course, bursting in tears :'D. Sending again the link of your first BGT audition to my family, so that they can cry with me!!! :) I forgot about having your first CD in my shelf, even though i did gift it to everyone on christmas after it came out. Time to have an update on your work. YOU are my favorite opera singer of our times. I prefer hearing you over Pavarotti and many others. And i really love the recordings with Charlotte. I fell in love with her angel like voice when her singing of Caruso did hit my ears. Tomorrow i will put your CD back in my HiFi and turn it on and sing along with my neighbours xD

The word Bravo seems so totally inadequate in response to Jonathan's incredible interpretation and performance of this Neopolitan Classic! The passion, the intimacy, the pain and glory of this love aria is cast at your feet with so much amore that I believe even Caruso would shed a tear and a smile at this moment!
I have listened to this back to back twice now with the version on here from the legend the late great Luciano Pavarotti, Johnathan it may be sacrilege to say this but imo I prefer you're version. I can pay no higher compliment than that

+bryan crute I have to agree that even though Pavarotti, and also Caruso, sing with perfection, they lacked the emotion of the young Jonathan. I think with maturity, Jonathan will surpass them as long as he can still sing with the emotion that he has today. Therefore, I prefer Jonathan's performance much more than theirs. Yes, we may both be criticized for our opinions, but so be it. A singer must sing with feeling to really capture an audience. The day he is allowed to used his full range will be a great day for us all. And to the commenter who gave Charlotte credit for encouraging and emotionally supporting Jonathan, you are so right. We all should be "angels," as she was called, to everyone in our lives who need that encouragement and support.
+Ann Koscher Ann, yes, we all must wait until Jonathan's voice matures fully at around thirty and see if he still has everything that is in his vocal cords now. He has so much emotion and character, and a tonal quality that is different from any other tenor. I compare him closest to Mario Lanza with his expressivness and phrasing. I find myself listening to his recordings over and over different songs each and every day. He is a Natural with a gift. I can wait another decade to make my final judgment about his voice compared to others. I wish you all the best in 2016 Ann!
I love the voice of Pavarotti... But, Johnathan's there are no words for the quality of his voice. It is absolutely an enchanting voice.. a voice that moves the heart to heaven.. builds a tension within bringing tears to the eyes as the soul tries to climb up and out and fly to where every the tones move to.
@@annkoscher3319 Pavarotti sang about 400 performances at the Met. Caruso sang over 900 performances at the Met alone, and was the original interpreter and foundation for every tenor that followed. How will maturity surpass either Pavarotti or Caruso, when Antoine has not sung a complete opera at the Met and makes mistakes that of an amateur in this Core 'lngrato, from grammatical errors, to singing the incorrect words in the 2nd stanza, plus being a microphone singer. He seems like a fine young man that gives joy to many of his listener's but his ability and your praise seem grossly exaggerated.
