My hydrometer is in the top quarter of my tent. The temperature may read 80°, for example, but can read 70° in a bottom corner. Certainly not a substitute for what you have but useful nonetheless.

    I was under the idea that higher VPD makes the plant transpire more, not less. The vapor pressure is higher in the plant than outside the plant, so it transpires more to balance itself, thereby pulling more moisture from the growing medium. That causes the plant to pull more nutrients. Could be completely wrong, just thought thats the way it worked

    You can use a Pulse Pro to calibrate your VPD on the AC Infinity UIS controller’s temperature/humidity probe and if you have multiple tents running a full AC Infinity UIS system with the humidifier, fans, inline fans, probes and lights, you can lock in VPD settings and verify with IR thermometer and VPD chart. You get the most by using a highly accurate piece of tech to get closer results through calibration of that humidity and temperature probe UIS controllers use to gather the numbers for the VPD data on the UIS system. Then you periodically check the calibration in each tent with a Pulse Pro to keep it locked in. Once the AC Infinity UIS probe is calibrated to the readings you get from the Pulse Pro you should be getting similar VPD levels on the data logger on the UIS controller and app. So check leaf temps and use AC in your ventilating room that the tents are in and you can manage multiple tents VPD finding a range that works for your perpetual harvest.

  • @Jay_Michael

    It's important to monitor the leaf temperature and not the grow space temp. The leaves will be 3 to 5 degrees different than the space, so adjust the temp accordingly. I've been chasing vpd and have seen great results. I had a 15 oz pull from 3 plants (autos) this week.

      3-5 degrees lower correct ? I use a hand held laser temp on the leaves and that’s what I have found, but I also never put the light at the 18 inch .. I leave my light at the top of the tent and adjust the intensity and watch for leaf curl..my temp sensor is always at the top leaf height as well as they grow I move it up ..

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  Год назад +2

      I have found adjusting the exhaust fan speed max lower can help increase humidity by not venting as fast but you temps might increase so watch it, you can try lowering the light and decreasing output to hit the same par on canopy at a lower height with less power, pulse makes that easy with par meter built in, but you can also just watch how your plants respond and adjust accordingly.. that should help stabilize temps and increase humidity

So my question is like, why doesn’t everybody mainline as like the “standard” way to grow? I can’t quite wrap my head around why we don’t all do this when we grow. I have read that you can’t really use it for auto flowers since they grow so quick. But that being said, wouldn’t everyone just mainline photoperiods so they could get the biggest yields?? Thanks guys I really dig your stuff and any input you may have :)

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  Год назад +3

      The Pulse has just helped me (Heaven) digest the information on their platform so effortlessly and understand the process of how it all worked. So, as a beginner grower- that kind of education is instrumental to my understanding. I love ac and what they have for growers, too - don't get me wrong. Ac infinity is family. The Pulse just helped me understand how to use the information. ( just my humble POV- Heaven)

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  Год назад +2

      Pulse PRO also can take ppfd / par measurements and CO2, something the ac cannot do yet! We use them together ac69 to control our devices that help control vpd, I also like pulse web based interface you can access from PC, ac only has the app currently! You don't necessarily need a pulse if you already have a controller 69 unless you are looking for advanced monitoring, really you don't need anything for vpd there are many free calculators online just input temp and Rh for your vpd! Just some other options out there -Neil

    • @jeroid123
      @jeroid123 Год назад

      chemically weed is not a thing the dispos you have tried just have shit phenos, organic and synthetic nutes dont have as much to do with taste as they do bioavailability, synthetic nutes are more bioavailable and therefore better for your plants more immediately, the only reason to ever use organic nutes is if you are looking to grow a beneficial bacterial colony, but be careful if you want to do that as you may encounter alot of problem with all sorts of bacteria and mold

    • @heinzhaupthaar5590
      @heinzhaupthaar5590 Год назад

      Just don't severely overfeed Phosphorus and to a lesser degree Potassium and you're fine. They need way less Phosphorus than usually thought. They do best with a steady supply though, and they tend to suck it up fast. Using recirculating systems you usually want a "starter solution" and a different "maintenance or refill solution".
      After all there's not a single thing plants get with "organic" nutrients (which usually are about as organic as regular salt ferts mixed with a bit of molasses and urea/amino acids etc.) that you cannot give them when using proper nutrients.
      Btw - the most disgusting weed I've ever seen was grown in "living soil", whatever that nonsense is supposed to mean. Smeary black ash, crackling sound - just utterly disgusting and literally trash.

    Interested in VPD in tents Ive heard it is very hard to maintain without a lot of rather expensive tools. Someday maybe but this will be great to watch.

    Another great video yall. Yeah I'm struggling with high heat. I think vpd meter would be beneficial for my area. I need to get that temp down. Especially for my drying phase. Would a vpd meter be beneficial in a tent your drying in to you think?

      Just so you know. The ac infinity controller will tell you your vpd. It will also give you options to control all your variables.

    What's your guys' take on the fast flower seeds? I've only grown the photos feminized. I've heard the fast version complete flower 1 to 2 weeks sooner. I'm just wondering if you guys tried them out and have any feedback.
    Using the VPD is a huge game changer. I can only actually control the humidity (unless it gets too cold or hot) but you guys are right, the VPD is the way to go.

    Why aren’t you using your pro controller to measure VPD? Seems silly to push a competitors product when you are sponsored by ACI.

    Great show…To the question what’s my #1 in a grow ?
    To me after 8 years , I cannot pick something more important than another.. My reasoning is this …Go out side on a nice day and try to duplicate that inside. It is very difficult as you need all the elements for NATURE to work.. That’s the goal , as best as possible indoors.
    But if had a #1 challenge it would be humidity control , and that’s a video in itself.. the variables on this alone will drive you to go smoke a fat one and chill…😁..This alone will cause way more problems than the other elements we are trying to create and control.
    You guys are awesome… Happy growing !

    Wouldn't you be better off setting the climate for the room the tents are in? It seems more logical when running multiple tents.

      Right now we have no ac and only radiated heat in the now house so we have very little control. Looking into a mini split for the grow room this summer before it gets to hot

      @@Highigan we have those 3 in 1 units here, floor standing with ducting to go outside, I'm sure it's the exact same as what you mean. %100000 the best investment. Mine will cool or warm automatically. Room sits at 24⁰c. It never occurred to me to manage humidity tho 🤔... heat/cool/dehumidify

    Have you guys done a full run yet monitoring VPD? I'm trying to increase nugg density and wondering if that would help. I have no problem getting monster buds they just lack the density I'm looking for.

    • @Highigan
      @Highigan  Год назад +1

      Alot of things can affect nug density I would say mainly it's genetics but keeping vpd dialed will ensure your plant can grow to its full potential, it also helps mitigate pests, mold and nutrient uptake issues!
