The lore behind the village with the mini erdtree was that it was Marika's home. Her people where abducted by the Hornsent of Bonny village, whipped and chopped up and put into jars to be blended into their saints. Marika wiped out the hornsent as revenge after attaining godhood, went back to the village but it was already abandoned, so she planted the erdtree knowing there was no one else left and never returned
1:57:34 the Shamans in the Shaman village were the people who are now the "fillings" of the jars you encountered before. If you look closely, they bear similar runes of Marika on their foreheads. It seems that the Shamans were her people and the Hornsent was stuffing them into jars to become saints, but Marika survived and seemed to avenge her people by massacreing the Hornsent through the purge done by Messmer when she became queen - something that he had likely volunteered and that Marika equipped him with the most caution and readiness that she could, hence the seal for the evil serpent within him using the eye and how the tree sentinels dropped Marika's Blessings because she was also trying to keep the serpent inside Messmer at bay. The Minor Erdtree incantation might allude to a possibility that Marika was a sort of healer which was why she could survive the torture the Hornsent did to her people. And why she put it there as a reminder to what happened in her home village afterwards.
Also food for thought! If u summon Melina against the fight with Morgott she sometimes uses the minor Erdtree incantation (it's very very pretty btw you should look it up) Melina being able to use a super significant incantation found in Marika's home village is just more evidence of her link to Marika, make of that what you will lol Also, I thought the sad music playing was because it's supposed to remind the player of Melina since she's no longer with us (but that might be a stretch idk) 😅
To answer your question, Commander Gaius is a first generation Albinauric, so he does in fact not have legs or the ones he has, like Latenna's, are useless and they mastered the art of riding combat
I dont know how youre supposed to figure that out alone lol especially bc you need to do it like 4 times before anything begins. I had to google it only because it did seem like there was something more than to just have st Trina kill you.
Well, that's your opinion. Jack was way better at going through questlines, talking to npcs, and he read the lore on pretty much every item he found, so I felt like I got more out of his playthrough. He didn't bother going looking for every single item around though, but that's probably because most of the things he found was essentially useless. I'd say Gabs felt way more rushed since she didn't read off of every item which she normally does.
You kept me entertained while I put together a massive cat tree for my boys. Thanks for that. There are a few times where NPCs die at the end of the quest. You will get the choice to give them grace (their summon) or give them something else and receive their weapon. If you give an NPC at the end of Ymir’s quest the grace you get that NPC as a summon. It’s a powerful summon to begin with, but if you take the summon back to that tower with Anna you can have Anna join her. Then you summon both of them together and they are extremely strong.
@1:23:57 Again, Gobbers being pushed by the enemy right onto the statue that contains a Revered Spirit Ash Gab wasn't even aware of, all while remaining only 1 pixel of HP.... Just SO on brand lol, I love it !! 🤣
58:17 - it's calling the "Carian Thrusting Shield" because one minute you're carrying it, and the next minute you're thrusting it. Thanks, I'll show myself out.
28:51 A quick tip for anyone going through this dungeon: If you ride this elevator Gab took to get down back up, you gain access to a SICK armor set (and shield)! One of the coolest in the DLC in my opinion. Hope this helps someone!
Awesome lucky fall to the item 😂! Edit : In Shaman village there is still an item to get For St. Trina you can still go back and keep drinking until you got a reaction :3 and keep passing on her words too I’ve been enjoying this playthrough of the dlc so much ! It’s so satisfying seeing you thoroughly exploring each area
That fire knight talisman is one of the best in DLC. You'll want the golden braid for final boss, but the fire knight can ride you through most everything else. It buffs your attack power as you fight, so more enemies means you get stronger as you hit them without pausing for too long
I hope beebs is doing okay! The last video Gab mentioned beebs was getting low and she was signing off to feed him. Sending warm wishes and prayers to beebs! ❤ Also: So excited for a more in-depth look at the game’s DLC! Let’s gooo!!
I love watching Sean and yours playthrough. Sean pushing through the game and you exploring everything. I'm more of an explorer and collect everything. 😂
The puppet at the very top of the black tower is the end to a quest involving the finger horns and the body guard of guy that wants you to blow the finger horns. Rage gaming did a good walk through of that quest. Is long but there are some good items.
Hey Gab, you should explore the lower church area some more. You will be very pleased, if you do. I really enjoy watching your videos and you are doing very good. 👍 🎉🎉
gravitational missile -- when you could use it is if you're dealing with a VERY agile enemy--you will force them to a spot and hold them there for a little while.
After realizing the small cup in the hand: "Óh: i drank from it !!" Next: the dramatic falling down to croke flat dead- "Uh-óh: LOL !!" Gab Smolders rocks !! 😁😂🤣👏🎮🖱️💯
i think it was a missed opportunity to have a unique boss theme for commander gaius..esp considering hes a remembrance boss and has such a cool visual design.
46:30 you need to fully charge the carian piercer to get extra reach and the spicy knock back power that i'm abusing of in this dlc (if you just tap the spell it casts faster but its way weaker_
Not sure if it's true, but I saw on tiktok that in old english Scadu is pronounced as shadow...as in shadow tree because we're in the shadow realm. My mind was blown lol
2:35:00 the fact you beat PK on your second attempt has me FUMING! I had to bust out a stamina and shield poke build for that fucker! (I was playing ng+2 in coop but still!)
Don't really recommend Piercer, not really your playstyle imo, and now that you've tried it, I feel I can confirm that. Shard Spiral is a good spell against huge enemies, especially Dragons, like that tears through them so easily, but by that logic, it's very situational. Furnace Golem are usually close to a Site of Grace, so equipping the spell at a SoG after spotting the Golem is a better idea than actually having it on your wheel at all times imo. Fun spells that you don't use too often but are fun imo would be Cannon of Haima and either one of Star Shower or Stars of Ruin, one has more damage, the other is more FP efficient. Otherwise 'Rings of Spectral Light' is very cute, GOES VERY FAR (very very very far) and proc Frostbite. All for 14 FP. Pretty nice for an exploration type of spell.
You and Sean have the best videos for fromsoft games❤️. Love the you use summons and have fun ! That is my play style as well. I don’t want to watch someone fight a boss for 6 hours and rage because they refuse to use game items.
Gab, drink the nectar until she says that you should kill miquella, then talk with other npc and tell him st trina words 2x, then go to the boss arena, kill the npc invader, then talk with him and drink the nectar until he says Ah... ah...
I just beat the base game because the last of the DLC bosses are whooping my butt. Who would've thunk the Elden Blob could be a fun fight... it's as if they just forgot to allow Torrent in there until patch 1.12
1:13:30 - "how many attacks was that, six?" If I'm counting correctly (his strikes and all the boar's head whipping) I think it was 8. In a row. I've been struggling with this guy.
I did a whole playthrough with a bow and arrow and it was fun but not very strong (also probably not optimized). It's more doable in Elden Ring than in any other Souls game though, definitely.

Oh god, the nail injury! I've accidentally cut into my thumbnail before, it sucks and you have my sincerest sympathies Gabu. Be honest with us... Was there really a box involved, or were you were trying to live out your katana based Elden Ring moveset IRL? ;p Slightly off topic, but I like the new banner art on your channel page :D (at least it's new to me, I have to confess it's been a minute since I've actively looked at your main page, as the feed tends to keep me appraised of your new videos) It's very adorable.
Some good NPC advice was left on the previous video (Messmer the Impaler) by @anonymousblue5000 about Thollier, Leda, and Freya's quest. Some advice was also left by @idlelazygirl1617 that goes more in detail about Freya's subquest.
1:57:37 you just ran past an important item by the tree
Commenting to boost!
Omg I was yelling “no!!!” As she went by

Yeeeeees
It kills me that she ran past the Golden Braid 😭 I was like come onnnnn almost thereeeee TURN BACKKKK 😂😂😂😂😂😂

now i know what Leda meant when she said "they were never saints. they just happened to be on the losing side of the war".
1:57:34 the Shamans in the Shaman village were the people who are now the "fillings" of the jars you encountered before. If you look closely, they bear similar runes of Marika on their foreheads. To answer your question, Commander Gaius is a first generation Albinauric, so he does in fact not have legs or the ones he has, like Latenna's, are useless and they mastered the art of riding combat
if you drink nectar a few more times you get more dialogue with St. Trina
its more like a monologue, since you dont answer and just listen to it
I dont know how youre supposed to figure that out alone lol especially bc you need to do it like 4 times before anything begins. I had to google it only because it did seem like there was something more than to just have st Trina kill you.
You can ride the jar elevator just before the boss in the Bonny Gaol up to a higher level for an armor set and matching shield. Just FYI.
I'm so happy you found Shaman Village! It's my favorite area in the DLC. It's so serene but also unnervingly still. Plus, that juicy Marika lore
i think what Sean did was talk to Ansbach again, he then gave him a letter addressed to Freya. So maybe you can still progress her ☺
I really love how methodical you are while exploring the DLC. It feels more like a deep dive of the game instead of just the main story points.
yeah sean just screamed through it
Well, that's your opinion. Jack was way better at going through questlines, talking to npcs, and he read the lore on pretty much every item he found, so I felt like I got more out of his playthrough. Ooh don’t forget the item at the base of the tree at the top of the Shaman Village!
pretty sure Yosh is a reference to Yoda. when you fight him he has a grab attack that's basically him force throwing you aroudn.

You missed an entire section in the Church District, near the guy that dropped the hat. ❤
love the energy you bring to these fromsoft games 😭 like a genki anime protagonist full of happiness and wonder on these cursed lands lol

Gab is so good i watch her all the time when she plays Eldenring
so cool that you can summon Yoda in this game
Yess more elden ring!! thanks gab, been enjoying your playthrough for a long time now ❤❤ hope the cut wasn't too deep
I love St Trina so much so happy you got there
St. Trina more like St. Tortilla
Those points in Vigor saved your butt so many times!
you have to drink St. trina nectar two more times
Gravitational missile the pulse attack Gaius used
I think you should build faith and arcane. Dragonic skill is cool though.

Great exploration and boss fights. Weird finger horns, but great items.
The weapon like orphan of kos
I've always thought Torrent looked kinda like my horse, Orion. I've been considering complying with him for a while... I need to lose weight, though.

It's strange. I have watched so many of Gab's videos that when I hear her voice, I feel like it's someone I know really close.
1:23:52 this moment is pure gold 😂😂😂.
This is why i love your playthroughs, you always look for every nook and cranny there is to be explored in the map and I'm so here for it ♥
Your video game luck is actually insane 😂
I just watched VaatiVadya's vid on the DLC earlier today and the backstory of Marika's people is sad.
Sorry for the injury. 😢 I know the pain of stabbing your thumb accidentally while opening a package. Not fun.
Hi Gab! I really like your elden ring playthroughs! Please play the faith build on camera for us to enjoy 🙏🏼 that would be awesome!! 🤩
I got down and dirty with that one 😂😂😂😂 Classic Gab 🗡️⚔️
