If Sanctifire gets hit, then more Branded decks will run El Shaddoll Winda, Thunder Dragon Colossus, and Etude of the Branded (esp w/White Woods) as floodgates. Bystials can also prevent the Fiendsmith engine from going into Beatrice or Caesar, so I think they'll be much more common.
@@nitro5432 Idk man. The deck has a very high power level and a lot of ways to floodgate opponents. It's the 3rd best deck on Master Duel with Branded Fusion and Branded Opening at 1. It's crazy inconsistent and still the 3rd best deck in that format. The main problem with the deck is Branded Fusion getting ashed and I think Branded Yubel will be better. The deck can do a ton of things with Puppet. You can search Give and Take off Thrust to puppet lock too, easy dump of Granguinol. It doesn't do great in a handtrap heavy format though so that might be an issue, but there's a lot of things that deck can do (esp w/the White Woods cards).
Mercourier won't be able to activate while LAD is still on the field because even after it used it's 3 mandatory effects, It will still ALWAYS attempt to negate every new chain so he will always chain block mercourier. The only thing you can search for off lost that can still be used on your opponents turn is techincally Golden swordsoul to negate an attack and then that will protect the LAD from battle destruction and then help you chain block your opponent.
As more fusion support goes towards negates and flooding out the opponent I can definitely see branded stun becoming more and more viable as more cards come out, there's plenty of great cards that facilitate a lockdown boardstate, a reasonable endboard could be L.D.D.L + Mirrorjade + Winda. And since L.D.D.L Negates activations and not effects the branded field spell could come back as a form of fusing after getting L.D.D.L onto the field. (Just spitballing here) Basically any form of floodgate + L.D.D.L is going to be really hard to break. The only thing is, you'd need to find a board that plays around spoly since L.D.D.L is both light and dark so spoly is going to murder you if you have Mirrorjade + L.D.D.L or really any light or dark monster without the Ido or puppet lock. Idk tho js my opinion.
Gotta love playing this for the coming format. LADDL is gonna be good for us. We don't need to puppet lock anymore, Mirrorjade + 3 omni-negates will probably be enough to beat most decks out there, unless they 'open the out' in DRNM or Droplet.
I thought of an idea to get more negates from Light and Darkness Dragonlord, in the first chain let it negate but chain life hack while your opponent has a lot of life points to get your dragons attack high enough to get potentially 8 negates for the turn especially if you can get it on board turn 1
During the Opponent Turn u have Cartesia to Fuse into another Guignol (ideally u fuse cartesia with Jade) when Guignol is summoned u have CL1 Guignol to Send Puppet then CL2 Quem to revive back Jade (also baits Called by or a Bystial), at that point u can wait to Puppet Opponent or do immediatelly by using In Red Target Albaz > Fuse Into Sanctifire by using Albaz and Guignol and then u can Puppet Lock the opponent
Branded lost searching is an effect, dragonlord only negates spell/trap card activations. So we still get the search because lost is already activated on field before dragonlord is summoned
LADDL negates Spell or Trap CARD activations, not Spell or Trap EFFECT activations. For example, it would negate the activating of Retribution's field effect, but cannot negate the activation of its GY effect. Same thing with Lost. It will negate Lost being activated (a spell card activation) but cannot negate the search (spell effect activation).
Galzo are you so sure about Light and Darkness Dragonlord? I’ve been testing it and it basically loses the game to Droplet or Dark ruler if you dont have red on board.
Why are we assuming that Santifire is going to get banned while Fiendsmith is an engine that is ran in at least two OP decks ? Like how is it logical that a branded deck, easily losing to ash, is going to get hit in a banlist white there are other decks that can play throught all type of negates and board breakers ? xD

Merc can negate something trying to negate or pop dragon lord since it’s once per chain, like apo, ogre, sp.

Can branded lost be chained wouldn’t it be negated?
Branded lost searching is an effect, dragonlord only negates spell/trap card activations. So we still get the search because lost is already activated on field before dragonlord is summoned
