"Nota.
"This little quintet depicts the music heard at night in the streets of Madrid, from the bells sounding the Ave Maria to the Retreat. And everything here that does not comply with the rules of composition should be pardoned for its attempt at an accurate representation of reality."

As Spanish I have to say that this made me cry. It's incredible how I could ear the crowded street, the bells ringing, the street music and the laughs of people having fun, how I felt the sun of a spring morning... It was home. Thank you for this gift.
+1
Boccherini said only the Spanish would understand this music, he forgot to add the rest of the world
"send the word to Mr Mowett. Change of course. South east by east. Oh and William.. Beat to quarters!"
The bird is flightless isn’t it ? Yes ….well it isn’t going anywhere !
8:11 Master And Commander: On the far side of the world.
This is the song that the Doctor and Captain play after they realize the captain of the Acheron wasn't dead.
The bird's flightless.
It's not going anywhere. ;)
Literally what brought me here, what a sweet piece, and this performance is flooring me. Decking me?
Well done Sir; a hell of a movie.

Ou plus exactement : a flightless bird has nowhere to go (un oiseau incapable de voler n'a nulle part où aller)
I never grow tired of listening to so many interpretations of this Boccherini's masterpiece inspired by his years of living in Spain. This interpretation blows my mind as to the way these musicians capture the liveliness of a military band or "charanga" marching through the streets of Madrid that approaches the spectators with all its intensity and slowly the music fades at the distance and into the night. I applaud the experimental approach used to capture the ambiance, the graciousness and passion that inspired the composer's to write this gem. Bravisimo!
Thank you very much for your kind words. All the best for you!
Just sublime
👍🏽

I cannot get over how beautiful the bailaora is! The performance is so fun, exactly the right way to explain the music's origins, so much better than a dry lecture.
Saudacões, do Brasil.
Obrigado.
Eccellente esecuzione!❤
So this is how a Boccherini performance should be done 😲 💃
Here is the most living, present, lively, honest, driving music of the old days, despite famous names, for it still lives and THRIVES. The Boccherini works astound, please, encourage, satisfy, announce his eternal skills...and the players loved it ALL.
See and hear the BSO of the film “Máster AND Comander”
This has served as my "Christmas greetings" message from Bremen to my relatives in Finland. It is just such a nice bridge to the forthcoming new year and to the summer season (be it in Bremen or Madrid)!
I bet the ecustics sound incredible in that Cathedral/Church , What a splendid performance, bravo bravo.
How could anyone not love this? What a delightful performance.
Thanks, glad you like it! 🙂
This bailaora is sensuality incarnate. This is an excellent interpretation; the bailaora takes most of the credit.
i didn't know you could do that with a cello! simply terrific performance all around!
Musica entusiasmante e coinvolgente. Esecuzione, come sempre, splendida
I have to publicly confess that I have fallen in love with the bailaora. Her attitude and her stage presence, to project that coquetry and femininity, as well as her natural beauty, are powerful. The fact that you have included Boccherini's own comments on her composition helps a lot to enjoy the music, by understanding it much more easily. Muchisimas gracias for uploading the video, you have given me pleasure and happiness with this beautiful music, so well played.
Bravissimi!!!
Absolutely loved this performance.
Happy Master and Commander led me to this!
"Modern"/"Contemporary" composers take note - this is how you break the mold, go beyond the rules of composition, and include inspirations from daily life - without turning your work into an unmusical, abstract mess
AMEN
Oh hush philistine
but the actual daily life IS a mess
"The bird is flightless?" "yes" "He isn't going anywhere"
The best presentation of "La ritirata di Madrid" I've heard - and I've heard a few.
Bellísimo!
something new for mi "repertory"" . Gorgeous music and musicians.
Totally awesome! I fell in love with this piece of music when I saw the great movie Master and Commander
Luigi
Napoleon is master of Europe, only the British fleet stands before him, oceans are now battlefields...
BRAVISSIMO NESTOR AND ALL THE TEAM.
This was so enchanting! Absolutely delightful!
Luigi Boccherini was a genius. The performance is delightful. Do you have a recording of this performance?
Wow, what a delightful performance by everyone. It mesmerized me so unbelievably that I forgot to have the usual scotch whisky with my special Saturday dinner. Not to worry Saturday will come another time but my style of musical appreciations change each time, even if I watch or listen to musical gem of this kind repeatedly, based on my state of mind or the change to my mood as a result of the wonderful music. Either way I am only enriched by my classical music experience of heavenly enjoyment! How blessed were all those maestros of yester years who left their legacy to their next generations in the form of these wonderful gems of musical pieces? The blessed varieties of maestros may be smiling from heaven. Keep open the "Stairway to Heaven" for reminiscing the 'memories of another day' there, hopefully! Or hoping against hope, who knows?
8:11 This could also had taken place in the streets of Veracruz, Mexico. So similar to much of the music and way of traditional dances in Mexico.
Es macht so viel Spaß, Euch zuzuhören, danke!
How delightful! The music AND the performance... Thanks for sharing!!
Peciosa interpretacion !!!! Come to Madrid to lisen those sounds....sure you will not be disappointed!!!
I enjoyed and loved watching this rendition and it is always fresh whenever or how so much ever I listen to it wow!
Absolutely amazing. Music is the very language of the soul. Love it.
❤😂🎉Amabilissima resa! Bravi!
Meraviglioso! Anche lo spirito spagnolo!!
great muscial performance, fun and didactic , a real enjoyment for the ears and eyes. The subttitles with the composers comments on the score are also very helpful to understand that it was meant to be narrative and fun
Genio italiano ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Maravilloso!!
A true masterpiece
Absolute pleasure 😂

oh boccherini, i love u!
Espectaculares!!! Felicidades Hugo!!!! Soy tu fans!!!
That was totally amazing
Celestial.

8:13 wonderful
From Japan
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Fantastic music and very well played, but performance is absolutely out of context. It has nothing to do with Madrid, which was Boccherinni's intention. The dance, footsteps and clothes are southern Spain folklore, which is completely different from Madrid's. It is important to understand the piece, the composer intention and the context.
Bravissimo🙆♀️🎻🎻🎻
“And William? Beat to quarters!”
Músico genial, composición preciosa, buena interpretación y representación lamentable .
I love the whole piece, but the section with the two stomping sounds like cannons and its marvelous
lucky bloke to have that lovely lady on his arm!
I did not know that Dudamel was a cellist
He is not Dudamel
@@angelaguerrero3808 JAJAJAJAJA obviamente
Well played, but why are people talking in the background?
Brilliant
