I've been carrying a classic since 1995ish. Great little tool for urban or suburban environments and will handle most of what comes your way in real world day to day life. I've got bigger Swiss Army knives, but they live in the glove box of my car or in my hiking day pack. The SD tip works great as a Phillips screw driver and bottle opener. I slide the SD tip under the rim of the bottle cap and gently twist, bending the edge of the cap. Do that a fe times working your way around the cap and it gets loose enough to just shove off with your thumb. The knife blade cuts the ever present plastic that encases everything these days.
The Victorinox classic is the Bic pen of pocket knives. Doesn't get the respect it deserves.

@@Jackknife1951 nice feedback and interesting to hear about bottle cap opening, I’ll be trying that with another SD I bought for myself over this weekend at a running event I’m going to with plenty of bottles of beer on hand 😃 and that orange one has gone to my wife! I’ve got many versions of their knives to review and test it’s going to be tough to determine which end up being ones I use for everyday and camping.. it’s going to be fun working through them though!
Funnily enough I was thinking about Bic pens just today having bought some other cheap brand which are not standing up to the riggers of use very well and was just thinking I’ll buy some Bics 😂

the Rambler or the Manager is where it's at. The Classic SD lacks tools. The Manager is the perfect set up for me. Not too much and not too lacking

They both have that better functionality and I’ll eventually get to review and test the Manager, the next small one I’ve got ready to review is the Rally and I’ve got a great choice of 84 and 91mm plus a Pioneer Alox and the 111mm Soldiers Knife, all bought and ready to look at. This all started as I wanted to pick a couple of knives for my camping and travels and it will be interesting to see if I do settle on just two… somehow I’m beginning to doubt that!
Thanks for your input, it’s always useful to get experienced views 👍🏻

when i was a kid, all utility knives seemed to have a tool for 'getting stones out of horses hoof's', (or so my grandad and dad told me that's what it was for), wonder what happened to them? 😄. btw i'd agree about the scissors, quality.

Here you go Bob, Victorinox still do one with tool for just that! Your grandad was right 😊 The scissors are excellent, I’ve about 12 knives, so far, to work through 😂

@@thecampingbiker791 haha thanks, i was given my grandads in the 70's when i was 16, and remember it was ancient then, he either had it in the war, or it possibly beloged to his dad who was a coalman and maybe even used it on his nag lol, but i didn't take care of it and stupidly lost it, but wish i still had it now for sentimental reasons

@@Bob-ts2tu might have been an early Victorinox, shame you haven’t got it now 😊
