I am so glad I stumbled upon this. It's crazy how many forgotten VHS videos that weren't big motion pictures but incredibly amazing films have been made and a part of so many people's life's.
Vivid memories of this film from primary school - several classmates were in tears I think. I've been looking for it on and off for about 5 years, very well done for tracking it down!
Watched this at school, Stayed with me to this day, I rememeber some girls in class crying part way through, Glad i found this to remind myself it's not so bad as i remember.
Good job. Thanks Nate for doing this. I've been looking for Never Rest for about 7 years, checking every now and again. I even did a Worldcat search and found I could only get it from a public library in Australia (lol); I even tried to do an inter(national)library loan but the cost was prohibitive. It shows what an impact Never Rest made that so many of us have tried to track it down. I remember having to do drawings of it for a day or two after seeing it in primary school to try to get over it! Even our teacher looked shocked and numerous pupils in the class were in tears. I thought it would still pack a punch and, while not traumatic for someone who is in their 30s, it still has its shocking moments; it plays-out more like a 'slasher' horror film than an educational video.
This scared me in school, espiecally the hand being ripped off and the horse & cart one. I then watched it for H&S in college. Been looking for it to show my brother, thanks for the upload
Thank you for uploading this! I've been looking for it for YEARS and was starting to wonder if it was a mass hallucination on the part of my primary school class!
I *cannot* remember this at school (PS: I grow up in an urban area), but I can remember *plenty* of other equally chilling P. I. school-only video films that I cannot now remember the names off, cannot track down online etc. I guess with this, it was *only* shown at schools/colleges which was rural or had an farming/agricultural career essences.
More, A: (for kids): *Don't take stupid, life-threatening risks living on a farm.* And B: (for adults): *Make sure you know what you are getting into beforehand if you want to live as a modern farmer which all the dangerous environments that concern your life and your loved ones.*
When they were all alive and thanking Joshua for trying to warn them, he was a peace because he managed to prevent their death but at the end when the ginger girl is hit by the tractor, she dies, so he is back to not being in peace which is why all the stuff blew off his grave. This is actually really sad, poor Joshua. Yes he made some mistake but he wasnt exclusively to blame.
Alexis Trouble Also, if you take Apaches into account, what if he never rests in peace? Who’s to say he doesn’t get broken into a malicious ghost by this?
*Poor Josh!* 😥 PS: *Does* sounds cruel but the ginger girl, who *obviously* came from a family with a *complete* urban background, was going to get it. There must *surely* be that if you do move to farm life, you *must* have some time to gain knowledge and wisdom about the risk that comes to it if you don't have the experience before taking it on. Her father/mother needed to attend an agricultural college course for a year or two before making their dream move.
thankyou so much for uploading this!! It would never be allowed to be shown in primary schools now it gave me nightmares! but what can I say, it worked for me - wouldn't dream of going near farm equipment, and neither would my friends who watched this years ago too
Horror moments from the Past bought back. Thanks for Posting the Memory's will now keep Me up all night again. The Apaches scared the crap Out of Me when they played It at the Pictures. Those Screams from I think Sharron Bleeding to death from the Rat Poison kept Me far from Farms. I have never been to one. And Never will.
Wow, been looking for this for years. Check back on RUclips and other sites every so often to check if it's appeared. Gave up hope a long time ago though!
I have a really funny feeling that the boy that plays Tom is a well-known actor or something these days! He’s got a very familiar face but I don’t think it’s purely from here!
Joshua Walker was a farmer who took four young children harmhands under his wing. All four were killed by accident. Joshua walker got the blame. Either the children should've been more careful on the farm or Joshua walker should've kept a better eye on them. Its possible that all four children were killed as a result of walker's negligence. And when he died, he was buried ⚰ in an unmarked grave with the word "Never" written on his headstone.
16:20 *Treat death/life-changing injuries as a game and you and others pay the price!* PS: Poor old Joshua Walker. 😢 Not to mention that the deaths that occurred under his life were *actually* accidents instead of just idiotic risk-taking. Maybe proves how different children in the Victorian age actually were compared to their ilk 100 years later. Also, the moving-in family clearly *did not* have enough knowledge or aware beforehand into how to manage farm life for them or their two young children safely, *especially* with more advanced and *much more* damaging farming technology.
Holy shit I remember they made us watch this in primary school! A girl was hyperventilating and in tears by the end of it and had to be taken out the classroom and see the councillor. Although the craziest part was that we watched it twice more over the next few years. No one gave a crap in the 90's.
Apaches was around when I was a kid. . The lad who died in the slurry pit. I helped on a farm when I was a kid always getting up to stuff wearing wellies
1993 was the release date for this whilst "Apaches" was 1977. PS: *Both films* were all about the messages of idiotic risk-taking on farm living to children instead of having accidents.
I grew up in a village primary school and lived next to a farm. We were made to watch this a lot and scared the living shit out of me😂 I'm still alive though 😂
I watched this in school about 20 years ago and it terrified me found it today thanks to a post on Facebook asking about scary videos that made me want to find it and I’m pleased I did because it still terrifies me 😂
Thank you so much for posting this! It got me into horror, no one believed they would show something so graphic to 6 year olds, thanks to you, I can prove that wrong! 😂
2:35 Wait.... the kid died when the wagon wheel fell on him? I know those things are heavy and kids have squishy bodies but it'd seem to me that the kid would be unlikely to die from the wheel falling over onto him from its own height. Injure hum? Sure. Broken ribs . knock him out, maybe crack his sternum, but outside of a very remote chance he'd survive.
Try this: Go find a vending machine and slowly lower it onto your chest. Now try to breathe. That would be about approximate in ratio to a large steel carriage wheel falling on a child. It's not the impact, mostly, it's the fact that your lungs aren't going to be able to breathe while it's on top of you and you don't have the strength to move it off.
*Victorian age=no NHS, near to no hospitals, no good enough medicine, less diets and resource. Therefore making people less capable of recovering from life-threatening injuries).*
"You've probably heard the old song, "How You Gonna Keep 'em Down on the Farm?" Well, the truth of the matter is, there are some people you can _never_ keep down-not even on a farm. And tonight's story will repeat history to emphasize the fact. Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this tale... 'Never Rest'."
Another thought: Have their parents do *at least* a year or two of farming/agricultural college courses/degrees before making their dream moves to running farms, *especially* if their have no previous/familial experience into how farms work and the dangers that comes with it! Especially now with advanced and more harmful/deadly farm technology.
Saying that, *did* the kids in "Apaches" really die apart from the main character? I've watch that on RUclips also, and apart from maybe the boy falling in the mud pool, the other incidents, (including the rat poison), could have *still* in the late 70s been avoid of death if their adults/others reacted quickly enough. *Life changing/ruining* non the least.

Why was she crying
My mom had a friend who died in a farm accident. Apparently, he was a really cool guy who told lots of funny jokes and was nice to everyone.
Ms3queen I thought you said your mum died.. 😳 I'm sorry about the loss of that friend.
Thank you for posting. My friend is the smallest child in this, it's going to make hilarious viewing at her hen party next week!
Hahaha that's amazing!
Ruth Avery what's a hen party?
Ruth Avery and why would this be hilarious? I:(
Bachelorette party
Duvmasta a party the bride and her friends have before a wedding

I don't know what's more horrific, the storyline, the acting or the fact that Jenny who gave the best line in the drama was never credited.
They might not have credited young children for privacy reasons, I know a few shows/movies that didn’t do that until they were old enough
This scared the shit out of me when I was 10. Thanks for uploading, I actually thought this film was lost!
You found it! The leg-crushing scene has stayed with me for 20 years haha.
Thank you for uploading this! I've been looking for it for YEARS and was starting to wonder if it was a mass hallucination on the part of my primary school class!
Amazing that you've found this and cleaned it up so well. Thank you!! Now I can show them I'm not insane
this was the stuff of nightmares when I was a kid. been looking for it for years.
I *cannot* remember this at school (PS: I grow up in an urban area), but I can remember *plenty* of other equally chilling P. Same
I have been looking for this for ages! Thank you so much for posting! Brilliantly camp and tasteless but it stuck with me all the same
x
Wow! Thank you for uploading this, I remember this from junior school - never thought I'd get to see it again
There you have it, kids. Don't go outside! Stay inside and play video games...you'll live longer!
More, A: (for kids): *Don't take stupid, life-threatening risks living on a farm.* And B: (for adults): *Make sure you know what you are getting into beforehand if you want to live as a modern farmer which all the dangerous environments that concern your life and your loved ones.*
THIS IS IT!! I've been looking for thus for YEARS due to the nightmares ut gave me as a wimpy little 8 year old. I cannot thank you enough!

This scared me to death when I was a kid! Thanks for the upload buddy. I won't sleep tonight now haha.
Watched this every year in school from the age of 5 onwards. Graphic and scary. Not appropriate for children. Trauma.
All I could remember of this was my friend Daniel creeping up behind people and saying "never rest in pants!" when we were 8...
You owe me a new keyboard...this one is now full of beer!! :-)
my god, this is literally one of my earliest memories (born in '85) and seeing it at school...still creepy to this day.

Having a headstone would make it a marked grave, would it not?
@@philswales3814Funny I hadn't thought of that until tonight. I always assumed that the headstone had another purpose.
It’s shocking how the girl dies at the end thinking that his work is not over yet

Bro
"Murdered to death"
I know. When I heard the little girl finish that line with "to death", I was like, really? XD
Michael Bartell That sentence dosen't sound right... 😂 It's like saying He was killed to death...
Tautology pretty much.
It's a complete tautology.
Why was Jenny never credited? The last character name to come up in the credits is Jack and this doesn’t make sense
Holy shit I remember they made us watch this in primary school! A girl was hyperventilating and in tears by the end of it and had to be taken out the classroom and see the councillor. Although the craziest part was that we watched it twice more over the next few years. No one gave a crap in the 90's.
Creepy, but not quite as horrific as Apaches. Thanks for posting!
Apaches was around when I was a kid. . The lad who died in the slurry pit. I helped on a farm when I was a kid always getting up to stuff wearing wellies
The slurry scene was disturbing, but nothing tops the girl screaming in the night after accidentally drinking the rat poison. That'll haunt me.
+JillC2 forgot about that. My scariest thing on the farm was getting grief for wearing my sisters hand me down red wellies in the 70s lol
JillC2 ikt
JillC2 oh bloody hell.. that scared the life out me
That bloody repeated Joshua Walker cut gets me.
Thanks so much for putting this up! me and my freind were trying to find this for years!
I been looking for this for years I knew it existed.
The Apaches of the 90's
1993 was the release date for this whilst "Apaches" was 1977. PS: *Both films* were all about the messages of idiotic risk-taking on farm living to children instead of having accidents.
I grew up in a village primary school and lived next to a farm. We were made to watch this a lot and scared the living shit out of me😂 I'm still alive though 😂
Lol, you weren't silly enough to spend £70 on the the VHS of this off Amazon were you? I spent £20 on it from some site a few years ago.
Larry Bundy Jr why do Brits end their questions with such words are were you and do you?
Because we're British. It's our job to be awkward.
Larry quite often turns up unexpectedly in the comments of random RUclips videos I happen to be watching.
Larry, will you be going over this video too?
I watched this in school about 20 years ago and it terrified me found it today thanks to a post on Facebook asking about scary videos that made me want to find it and I’m pleased I did because it still terrifies me 😂
Sam is going through some rough times
OMG. CHILDHOOD NIGHTMARES!
Somebody send this to Chadtronic!
Cracked.com brought me here. And I agree with their assessment; this safety video was clearly made by serial killers.
I dont remember seeing this at school, I was probably off sick that day.
well I didn't see THIS version back then.
We used to be petrified every summer holidays by this lol 😂
Thank you so much for posting this! It got me into horror, no one believed they would show something so graphic to 6 year olds, thanks to you, I can prove that wrong! 😂
Good heavens, what is it with British PIFs and PSAs?---scare kids into convulsions in the hopes of protecting them? Thanks for posting this stuff!
*PUBLIC INFORMATION!!!!!!* At the end of the day, *yep!*

more people are killed by vendin machines than sharks if i recall.
DV 16
That's actually true.
It was the Victorian era, even some milder illnesses could’ve lead to death. They didn’t have the medicine we do now.
*Victorian age=no NHS, near to no hospitals, no good enough medicine, less diets and resource. Therefore making people less capable of recovering from life-threatening injuries).*
Child hiding in the grain silo is scary 😢 o m g. X
This reminds of that other film : apaches.
wait a minute.... that house looks familiar. that's Sharon's house from Apaches!
It`s NOT; LOOK MORE CLOSELY!
This is the weirdest public information film I have ever seen.
I know this is meant to be educational but this would actually make a really good horror film...
This is basically an episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?". except that is has the poncy blech of Britain instead of the bacony stink of Canada.
"You've probably heard the old song, "How You Gonna Keep 'em Down on the Farm?" Well, the truth of the matter is, there are some people you can _never_ keep down-not even on a farm. So why are all these psa movie things basically SAW with kids
Terrified for life.
This thing used to terrify me. Not sure i want to watch it this late at night
Here's a thought.... don't let children run all over the farm?
Another thought: Have their parents do *at least* a year or two of farming/agricultural college courses/degrees before making their dream moves to running farms, *especially* if their have no previous/familial experience into how farms work and the dangers that comes with it! I don't remember this section from Ghost Trick.
that is so today
IS THIS THE SEQUEL TO APACHES!?
*An 90s equivalent more like.* So in a way, yes.
Finally found it! Sick fucks showed the entire class this in year 3. Year fuckin’ 3. Messed us right up.
Its fascinating as its terrible to show a child but can be something that could actually save the child's life.
When in the 90's was this? Early to mid 90's?
*1993.* Also, this was only released on tape to schools for classroom showings. Never shown on public TV like "BBC or C4 Schools".
Saw this at school and scared quite a lot of kids, watching back now where the girl gets her arm ripped off bit 🤣 how tf was this shown at school?
It's no Apaches.
Apaches was scarier.
*Both of this and that was based on farm-living stupidity.*
Did Sam die
It’s implied that Sam died after being run over by the tractor
@@stephaniespragg5586 *Yep!*
But still he bracked
What the shit is it with the British and tea?! I thought they didn't do that anymore.
Psybur British and tea is basically like America and meth. It's not hard to understand
that kid with the bowl cut and lisp needs to fucking die like.
10:34 "Wait for me" 😆
This is just like Final Destination the main character dies at the end
Is Tom and rob dead
I ment are they dead
Don't know about the two you've mentioned, but Sam is dead *for sure!*
horror movie
Dislike. Not enough children death
Saying that, *did* the kids in "Apaches" really die apart from the main character?
